Myke at Rite Aid on Mangrove is an excellent clerk/cashier. He is professional and courteous. Last weekend, I was standing in line at another cash register when I overheard a commotion coming from the next register. It seems a customer and his wife were adamant about having their change from their purchase come back to them in a particular way. Long story short, the customer was extremely rude to the clerk and said some outlandish and inappropriate remarks loud enough for everyone to hear. I saw Myke's face and realized he was devasted. Equally loud enough for everyone to hear, I told Myke he was doing an excellent job and to keep up the good work. Young employees who are on their first job do not know how to handle such complete inappropriate and unexpected behavior from strangers. Just keep on going Myke, you were very professional and did not dignify such rude comments with a response. I know you are doing agreat job.
This shout out and positive recognition goes to Billi who works at Starbucks on East Avenue. Thanks for the great service, suggestions and a happy attitude. I appreciate your smile, especially on Wednesday mornings when my co-workers and I crowd the coffee house. You provide top-notch service and efficiency to get everyone moving along ontime. Good job,Billi!
Many times during the course of our business day in Chico, we are in contact with the same people over and over again. When these people are consistently pleasant and friendly, I think they deserve a shout out. One such person is Marissa, the receptionist for Mission Hills Mortgage. Marissa is personable, friendly and professional. She answers and directs all in coming phone calls happily. I know she performs other duties, but this is the job she does when I call and I appreciate it. If you have ever made a phone call to a local Chico business only to be cut off or greeted with irritation, then you'll appreciate good service when you experience it. That's why I would like to say thanks to Marissa for making my day more pleasant. Here's to you.
Here's to Amanda who works behind the counter at Round Table Pizza on Mangrove Avenue, Chico. I appreciate your bubbly personality and your personable service. I took a friend to lunch on a very busy weekday. Amanda was smiley, helpful and patient. With so many CSUC and Butte College students in the Chico workforce, they are often treated like, "a dime a dozen". We forget that the student behind the counter also has a life and a story to tell, whether it be difficult exams to study for, personal problems, roomate issues or bills to pay. So Amanda, here's to you for working hard, doing a great job at it and making my day easier and more pleasant. Thanks!
