By now many of us are familiar with local transgender resident Tedra Thomsen's attempt to play coed softball as a woman.
The E-R's Jenn Klein wrote: "CARD gives nod to disc golf course, transsexual policy":
"Thursday night the Chico Area Recreation and Park District board of directors took the first step towards a disc golf course in the Hooker Oak Recreation Area and approved a policy addressing transsexual and transgender athletes."
While Thomsen might not be happy with CARD's decision, he's likely welcome to play disc golf.
He can play disc golf wearing whatever he wants. When it's hot outside, some disc golfers walk around without shirts so I suspect wearing a dress is no problem.
I suspect Thomsen would be welcome to join disc golfers from the Chico Disc Golf group since disc golf is supposed to be accessible and open to everyone.
And unlike CARD, which manages the softball league, there is no entity deciding who can or cannot play disc golf.

Tedra is a disc golfer, and I've heard a pretty good one. Disc golf tournaments (which are not allowed yet in Chico) allow for all kinds of players. I have heard of at least one disc golfer that played Norcal tournaments in drag, he played in the men's division.
Even those who want disc golf out of its current location often refer to themselves as "disc golfers". In fact, the Friends of Bidwell Park love disc golf. Just check their web site.
If Tedra wants to be one of the many disc golf goddesses in Chico I'm happy to have her.
