Headlines

headlines.jpgThe Chico City Council special meeting on the controversial Disorderly Events ordinance generated lots of public comment and media attention.

The Orion headline on Oct. 17, 2007: "Council puts off ordinance vote"

The E-R headline on Oct. 16, 2007: "'Disorderly events' ordinance moves ahead"

Just to confuse the public, The News & Review should consider this headline: "Ordinance goes somewhere"

And then The Chico Beat should print this long-winded headline: "Council laughs watching fun karaoke YouTube video, then gets serious watching street party video"

In making the case for the ordinance, Police Captain John Rucker, a great guy by the way, showed a YouTube clip of a firetruck stuck in a crowd trying to reach someone needing help.

Today's Scrabble word is serine, or an amino acid.

Just to clarify, the above video was taken last year in Chico.

Ah, the stupidity of rowdy crowds.
