On France and Iran

France has said that it will not confront Iran over it's nuclear program. Well there's a shock. France wouldn't even agree to confront Germany in it's Take Over France program in the 40's. From now on it should be a rule that the world expects complete pacifist inaction to every situation, no matter how dire, from France unless otherwise notified. If we don't hear from them, we'll assume we know the answer.

Something has to be done about Iran. Allowing them to develop a nuclear weapon is one of the worst things that the world could stand by and allow to happen. With a nuclear warhead and a platform with which to launch it with Iran could kill millions of Americans, Brittons, Germans, Russians, etc. Basically any country it considers "infidel" or othewise unworthy of existance. They have demonstrated to use force without control over even the most trivial of slights against them. Look at what's happening across Europe and now Asia over a cartoon! More on that tomorrow.

On my drive home from work I was listening to Armstrong and Getty, as I normally do in the mornings, and they had some author from Newsweek as a guest speaker in regards to the Iran-Nuke situation. My first impression of the man was that he was very smart, very well read and well educated, and well traveled. My second impression was that dispite all this wonderful forementioned atributes he was a complete moron. His view was that Iran should be allowed to have as many nukes as they want no matter what they plan on doing with them. The reason, well the threat of mutual distruction will keep them from ever using them. What this guy fails to understand is that the people of Iran aren't afraid of that. Their way of life revolves around the fact that their time on Earth is just a stepping stone until they can go onto a much mmore rewarding afterlife. Whatever they can do to speed that process along is okay by them. He was also of the opinion that when they point at the west and say "We are going to kill each and every one of you" that they dont mean it. Mean it or not, it has to be taken seriously. If someone were to walk up to me on the street and put a gun to my face and say "Prepare to die" that I would take him seriously until proved otherwise. Iran, to this point, has done nothing to prove that they aren't 100% serious about the complete and utter destruction of every non-believer out there.
