I am confused as to why this is posted here? You don't offer any explanation. I don't know what's more troubling, this guy's message, or his self satisfaction and seeming disconnection with the fact that it's thinly veiled hate speech.

***AUTHOR'S RESPONSE

It's posted here because since this is my blog I post whatever tickles my fancy at the time. Sometimes it's one view of a political issue, sometimes it's a recipe for soup.

Perhaps this is hate speech, perhaps it's one person's interpretation of a Biblical truth. The fact is that within our very diverse world are a number of different views on the same subject. The educated person, who strives to understand the world as fully as possible, entertains all views and then assimilates the information he's gathered to for his own opinions.

I get the point of your blog, and I get (and dig) the practice of entertaining all ideas and points of view. It's because of this mindset that I feel comfortable pointing out that this guy in the video isn't on that same page. He doesn't give a rip about free speech. He is calling out an entire religious group for the actions of some of the religious group--just some of the ones in his area of the world.

Exactly which biblical truths are being interpreted here is beyond me. This guy is pissed, and he's using fallacious logic (e.g. These people did this bad thing. These people are Muslims. Therefore, all Muslims do bad things) to hang everything on Islam.

As for the "follow-up" post. Is that a joke, or what? Is that something someone somewhere actually believes? What's the point of stirring things up like that?

One of the beauties of free speech is we can point out when another person is full of it. And this guy is overflowing.

***AUTHOR'S RESPONSE

My comments about the Biblical "truth" were meant for the "follow-up" post. I forgot which title I put on which blog. So, my mistake.

I'm not sure what axe the British fellow has to grind, but he's at it in full form. As to the other one, I like entertaining the ideas of the extreem left and right (though it's debatable which is more dangerous) because it reminds me how comfortable and logical it is in the middle. For more on my view on that read "On American Extremists". Thanks for your comments, Mr. Cassidy.

I did have to chuckle when he called the Muppets with shit for brains. Though this fellow generalizes Muslims as all being extreme much the way they generalize Christians as all being like Robert Tilton, the fact remains that many Muslims are extreme and dangerous, and they are the ones who are painting their more moderate brothers with a broad brush. The sane minded peace loving Muslims need to stand up and argue their point a bit more and let the world know that not everyone who worhips Allah has a stick of dynamite strapped to his genitals.

***AUTHOR'S RESPONSE

This was a point made by, of all people, one of Saddam Hussien's daughter's in law who escaped his family and fled to America to live in peace and prosperity. She argued that while many Muslims are upset that they are being generalized as terrorists that they are as much to blame as those who look at them that way because they don't stand up to combat the one's creating the stigma.

Eventually Muslims around the world, moderate Muslims, the one's we hear about as a side note, will stand up and start evicting the terrorists from their neighborhoods, mosques, and towns. When that happens it will be proven to the world that most Muslims are just normal people like any other normal people. Until that time the mainstream media will continue to boost their ratings by painting them all as terrorists.
