Your Stock is Up

A friend of mine does a little investing in the stock market. On several occasions I’ve heard him explain to others some of his techniques. I admit I’m not much of an investor so his explanations sound like me trying to explain special education finance to a third grader. Puts and options sound like a foreign language to me, but he seems to understand it well.

I may not be the best pupil for the stock market but he’s found someone who is. His 12-year-old grandson finds the stock market fascinating. The two of them spent a few hours going over the basics. A bit more time and the 12-year-old was asking questions like about how the graphs work and how to follow the ticker tape to track a stock. It didn’t take long before they had to test out new skills.

I always enjoy putting learning to work. So now these two intrepid traders have a few shares of stocks to watch. My understanding is neither one of them can stay away from the computer very long. They’re quite busy watching their stock go up and down, up and down, up and up and down…..
