his happened in Russia at a supermarket. The shelves were stocked with imported liquor (whiskey, rum) that was worth some $180,000. From what I learned, the company fired the operator and demanded that he pay for the damage. However, the operator sued the business and the court ruled against the company. So the company was out the $180,000.00. The court ruled the company was in violation of not providing proper training, and in violation of safety rules.
Regardless of the legal ramifications involved, it is obvious that the forklift operator had a very bad day at work. I read somewhere else that the operator was also drunk. I am wondering if he got drunk while they were digging him out, instead of before the accident. You think that maybe he may have opened a bottle of rum or whiskey as he was trapped to calm his nerves?
coulda been worse...........coulda been quality Irish Whiskey.
