This footage, was taken during a kayak fishing trip off the coast of Woody Head Australia, in 2009. Now consider that a shark can detect 1 part blood or urine in 1 billion parts water, and that they can detect the faint electrical impulses caused by a kayaker's beating heart. Great whites sharks are territorial and probably don't get to see very many brave, or crazy, kayakers so close. I think we can safely say that this shark was not very hungry, or else I am sure it would have tried to knock the kayak around in the hopes of knocking the guy into the water. I offer this video to give you an idea of how harrowing an experience like this can be for someone.
