Bush sells 900 smart bombs to sponsors of terrorism
I see that Bush has made a deal with king Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to sell him 900 precision guided bomb kits (smart bombs). It is my understanding that women in Iran have more rights than women do in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia practices slavery. Women cannot drive, they cannot vote, they can't even go to a doctor without the permission of a male relative. In Saudi Arabia, women have about the same rights as animals. This same king Abdullah that Bush is selling smart bombs to, sponsors and supports terrorism. And wasn't it mostly Saudi Arabians who crashed airplanes into the twin towers? Will these bombs one day be killing our soldiers?

Just to be fair,
As I understand it, this weapons sale had to also pass through Congress, which is controlled by the Democrat party.
I understand the reactionary impulse to hate anything with Bush's name on it, but Saudi Arabia, for all it's faults, is an ally to the United States. It's possible we should reconsider that alliance, because the saudis do treat their people horribly, but you have to remember that doing so might create worse conditions than what we have now. Not the least of which would be further increases in oil prices, which I would not appreciate at this point.
Joe's reply....I have never heard that this deal had to be approved by congress, not that it would surprise me that the democrats would probably approve such a deal. I don't want to see any increase in oil prices either which is why we need to do more towards weening ourselves off of the foreign oil tit. Oil companies keep suppressing new technologies and oil companies own politicians....what are we gonna do?

This is the exact same thought that came to mind when I read about it, amazing is it not? We fund the arms to get us out of debt from a war that was started by the Middle East, and this will most probably be turned against us, maybe not us, but remember Israel, whom they would love to bomb off the map - which would surely put us right back in a war far worse than the one we are in now -

Democracy. A land of many colors. Congress or Kalif.Legislature are at the front of "intelligent design". Go figure.
WW2 "in bed with evil"(those guys that I have no use for)but to stay out of the "door of hell" we must sometimes make choices between "evil" and "BAD EVIL".Probably saved half-million American lives in WW2.
This BOMB deal I do not like.Pres Johnson decided where each bomb was dropped over N.Viet Nam.Same in the Balkans.
Weaning. Solar/Wind is like urinating in the Pacific Ocean. Big deal. Narrow application. The need for Nuke-electric is critical. Where is the most recent oil-refining center in the U.S.? How new?Capacity? These are the problems created by "intelligent design".
