Hannity said what???
I turned Shaun Hannity on this afternoon as I was driving around, just to get my periodic dose of right wing....what's the right word here....stop and think....be nice....talk! Yea, right wing talk. Anyway there's a caller debating him about the Reverend Wright comments and Shaun is really taking Obama to task over things his former minister has said....we all know the story, right? When Shaun is finished ranting, the caller asks him what he feels about Rush Limbaugh and his "campaign chaos". Just to explain if you haven't heard.... Rush has been getting his brain dead ditto heads to vote for Hillary in the primaries in order to keep the primaries going right up to the end and hopefully have a democratic melt down at the end because of how close the two candidates will have been....typical Karl Rove right wing underhanded politics at it's worst.. So anyway, the caller asks Shaun his feelings about Rush doing this and Shauns reply was...." Rush is just practicing free speech." Oh, I see. And were supposed to take these guys serious? Shauns statement is so ridiculous on so many levels, I don't even feel like spelling it out.
I am bound and determined to keep my cool during this election. But when I hear stuff like this, it gets hard to keep quiet. I've just got to quit reading and listening to right wingers.

Joe,
As the right winger around here I don't know if it's worth discussing this with you but I'll try.
Sean Hannity called Limbaugh's operation chaos free speech. Well, it actually is. In America, we do have the freedom to say what we want without the government arresting us for it. The same freedom of speech that protects Limbaugh also protects idiotic frothing-at-the-mouth types like Michael Moore.
But I think your anger is really less about the speech than about the tampering in elections. So let's address that problem. First, let's admit that neither republicans nor democrats are very saintly when it comes to voter fraud. Both have also been known to play in the others' primaries when their primary is also decided. If Hillary had won months ago and McCain was now in a pitched battle with Romney, you can rest assured there would be democrats re-registering so they could control the Republican outcome.
Democrats also cannot point fingers at Republicans on voter fraud when they have totally disenfranchised the states of Florida and Michigan, and they let "superdelegates" select their next presidential candidate, even against the popular vote.
So, how do we stop this activity?
First, I would advocate stricter voting requirements, starting with ID checks at the polls. If you want to vote as John Smith, you prove that you are John Smith and that you are registered to vote where you say you are.
Primaries are the chance for each party to decide who will represent them in a general election. Kind of like picking your team quarterback for a superbowl. We would not let the Bears pick the Quarterback for the 49ers, so why do we let people from other parties vote in what should be closed-party primaries? So, make a ruling that only someone registered in the party for a year or more can vote in that party primary. OR, rule that only someone who has voted consistently, say 3 out of the last 4 elections can cast a primary vote. This would have the double advantage of encouraging better voter behavior by rewarding participation.
Finally, do away with the delegate vote. If Obama gets the popular vote and Hillary wins with the delegates, you'll be wishing this reform had passed ages ago.
What do you think Joe, sound like fair reforms to you?
Joe's reply....First of all Dane Ive got to say that I do not believe for a second that democrats would do what Rush's ditto heads are doing if the scenario was reversed.
Second, yes there has always been tampering with the vote on both sides, but nothing to the scale the republicans pulled off in Ohio which basically gave Bush his second term. If it was a 100% honest election, Kerry would have won. And that really pissed off a lot of "whining liberals".
Last point, I think all elections should be judged completely on popular vote. Get rid of delegates as well as the electorate college.
