She's Okay

I'm writing from Daisy's hospital room at Sutter Memorial in Sacramento. Today I loaded up Zoe and Teddy in the airplane and flew them to their auntie's house in Eureka. There they can play with their cousins while we focus on Daisy's health. The flight to Eureka was plenty challenging. A stiff headwind, turbulence, clouds, rain and some ice, too. I got on top of the clouds at about 11,000 feet, then plunged back in for the approach into Eureka. I broke out of the clouds at about 1000 feet with the airport right in front of me. I looked into the back seat to find both kids fast asleep.

I then flew directly to Sacramento to meet Sara at the hospital. Her cousin, Sandy picked me up at Executive Airport and drove me to the hospital. I found Sara and Daisy just as the Pediatric Neurologist was coming by for an exam.

I'm tired so I won't go into too much detail, but we are hopeful that perhaps we may finally learn what is causing Daisy's problems. The doctors are fairly certain that her condition is not degenerative. We need to ensure that she gets enough nutrition, and that may mean using a feeding tube at home for a while. There are a variety of tests being performed for the next 3 days, then we will take her home again. Sara and I both feel pretty confident that we are going to get some answers and that Daisy will be just fine.
