Debating with Liberals
Dale. writes...."If you have ever had the privilege of debating with a liberal, it no doubt took you approximately 2 minutes to learn that for the liberal, history began 5 minutes ago. Or however long ago they received their talking points in the mail. Past that, most of them seem to be unaware of human history.
If they were informed, then statements like “Bush lied, people died would seem not only absurd, but rather embarrassing. Since this latest business with the outing of a “covert agent, libs are back on the attack that we were all lied to, so Bush’s oil buddies could get rich on a war in Iraq. In order to trick us Bush got together the following cronies to make these false statements to lead us to this unjust war.
"Iraq made commitments after the Gulf War to completely dismantle all weapons of mass destruction, and unfortunately, Iraq has not lived up to its agreement." -- Barbara Boxer, November 8, 2002
"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." -- Bill Clinton in 1998
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security." -- Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." -- Ted Kennedy, September 27, 2002
“Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." -- Nancy Pelosi, December 16, 1998
Boy, quotes like these would be a real B---h for those of us with some intellectual honesty, but not for libs! Like other leftist movements, they have managed to do away with things like honesty, fair play, or any thing else that gets in the way of world revolution…..I mean greater liberal understanding."

On Friday, after enduring weeks of harsh criticism from the Left about how Bush lied and we should not be in Iraq, the House Republicans put them on the spot by forcing a yea or nay vote on Resolution 571, the immediate withdrawal of our troops from Iraq. The Dems cried foul an ranted about how the Republicans were politicizing the war, but they finally had to go on record, and the cut and run resolution was defeated 403 to 3. The Sunday papers are full of more Liberal cries about how evil it was for the Republicans to force the vote, and I read opinions from all the usual ranters. Then it struck me. Nowhere could I find the names of the three who voted in favor of the resolution. I had to research the actual vote record to find out. They are:
Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)
Jose Serrano (D-NY)
Robert Wexler (D-FL)
Unpatriotic Lefties for sure, but at least they had the courage to go on record, unlike the more prominent Dems.
I suggest we change the color-coded threat level guage for a Democrat version with these response levels to the terrorist threat:
Ignore It
Hope For The Best
Run
Hide
Surrender
Collaborate
