Failing Propositions
You didn't think I was going to let this slip by without comment did you? lol
The voters fell prey to the union ads and they voted wrong in almost all cases, because they were deceived and misled by a slick "anti-props" campaign. For months the voters were beseiged by the attack ads from unions, "Arnold lied...Arnold stole money from the schools, Arnold took special interest money, Arnold this, Arnold that and what DID Arnold do? Not much. He waited until the last 10 minutes of the election for his big counter attack. Who is advising this governor???!!!
He should have responded to those attack ads from day one. He could have pointed out numerous deceptions, but he let the ads run without opposition until they dominated the airwaves and that was a terrible mistake. It was a lopsided campaign from the begining thanks to this and the fact it was poorly run by conservatives who were outspent 2 to 1. And you know what happens when you outspend your opponent? You win. Issues mean far less than money and the unions knew that and used it to their best advantage.
I hope Californian's don't get the government they deserve, because if they do we are back to bankruptsy.

Agree with you this was run wrong. However I think Arnold is only guilty of underestimating how truly stupid voters in California are. Did you notice you didn't need a law degree to decipher the propositions? They were cut and dry. I am amazed how this election went. Good luck to all of you who have children that are not above the curve, chances are neither are their teachers. We had a chance to make major changes for the better and blew it. California's new motto "When its hopelessly broken, @#$% it!"

Toby, I disagree in part to your comment about the lack of a law degree needed to decipher the Props. Props 74 75 76 77 very cut and dry, easy to understand, minor flaws in 74 that would need some future tweaking however a yes vote was the only sensible vote on those 4 issues. The other 4 'add on' props I feel contributed to the failure of this special election, (Along with Union and incumbent fear of fairness). they were hard to figure out how your vote would have effected these issues in the long run, 'NO' was the only way to vote on those in my opinion, and that's the rub. Take all the misleading spin oriented self serving Twinkie formulated ads run and then confuse the voter (that even cared enough to vote, another issue and problem) with 4 Props that should not have been on the ballot and bingo a landslide win for those that only serve to serve themselves. As to Arnold's remaining time in office, it isn't quite right that some of the same people who elected a new 'Sheriff 'to protect them from the bad guy's, are now sending him into a gun fight unarmed. On a closing note, I hope people take note that the news media , a self serving giant for the liberal closed minded, took a beating on its role position of influence and now must realize that it is second to Union power in swaying public actions, I would have said thoughts but I don't feel much of any sort of real thinking went into this special election by the voters. Thank you Jack for a forum to vent!
