Four Hostages in Iraq

I'm sure I can't be the only one thinking there's something very odd about this latest kidnapping in Iraq.

First, the four were allegedly taken hostage by the "Swords of Righteousness Brigade," a group nobody in Iraq has ever heard of before. That's suspicious, but not impossible to imagine. Next, despite the recent and gruesome beheadings of other western hostages, these four westerners went into dangerous areas without any escort? Why would they do that when they were almost certain to be taken hostage and killed? My possible theories about this situation work out like this:

1. They felt their pro-terrorist mission and their mutual hatred of the west would somehow make them allies with any terrorist element, but they seriously misjudged the situation.
2. They had certain assurances from the terrorists they could go about their business peacefully, but for whatever reasons, this agreement went bad.
3. This was a staged kidnapping to grab global headlines.
4. Other, unknown reasons.

I can't help but wonder why a genuine terrorist group would knowingly hold productive "allies" for their cause, unless, there was a hidden agenda? The demands made by the alleged kidnappers are wildly impossible to meet, which is also suspicious. It makes me think they never expected their demands to be met. Of course it could be just what it appears! A random kidnapping event by elements trying to exploit the hostages for whatever they can. Time will tell.

These are the same kind of clowns that wanted to be "human shields" when the war started. They were clueless, thinking they would be Iraqi celebrities not actually targets.
This is just another example of liberal arrogance and stupidity in full swing.
If they get out of this alive, I do not think they will take any responsibility for their actions or even show anger toward the terrorists. They will spin some web of BS that lets them stick it to the US.
