The evidence against Stanley "Tookie" Williams is conclusive and beyond a shadow of a doubt, so said the jury, just before he threatened to kill them.

Williams Escape Plan: In a response to the current clemency appeal, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has revealed that in 1979 while Williams was in county jail awaiting trial he plotted a detailed escape that involved the murder of several jail guards by armed accomplices, the dynamiting of a prison bus, as well as the murder of several inmates on the bus who were potential witnesses. Williams assigned himself the task of murdering the inmate witnesses and the guard on the bus.

A female accomplice was said to have obtained the necessary dynamite and a new pump shotgun for Williams, similar to the one used in the Motel robbery. The plot was foiled only because the escape plans were discovered just prior to his transport date to court. The plans gave the date, time, bus route and court location, number of guards involved and even the bus number.

William's made death threats to jury: According to evidence presented at his clemency hearing, The foreperson confirmed the defendant mouthed the words "I'm going to get each and every one of you mother f******." (TT 3078). The foreperson further confirmed that this threat did not play any part in the deliberations and was, in fact, not discussed during the penalty phase of the trial. (TT 3078).

Prison officials noted that although Williams claims to be a reformed man and now against gang's, he still maintains his same old association with gang members in prison. Despite this fact and the evidence of four cold blooded murders and the plot to murder more innocent people in his escape attempt, many Hollywood celebrities champion Williams appeal for clemency, saying they believe in him.
