CHICO AIR MUSEUM
Currently open to the public, free of charge from 10 am till 4 pm, Saturdays. Located at the Chico Airport, 170 Convair Avenue. Call 345-6468 for more information on events.
If you haven't taken yourself or your kids to see the exhibits, then I have one question: Why not? It's fun, it's free, it's educational and who-in-the-heck doesn't like airplanes? Besides, the Chico Museum has pretty unique displays that you just won't find anywhere else, like the Russian Antonov An-2, the worlds largest commercially built biplane or the extremely rare Super Ventura a twin engine airplane from the 1950's, not to mention many in-door exhibits.
DVD Player needed! Currently the staff is trying to setup two video displays using a VHS and DVD player working through two monitors. They are still looking for a DVD player, anyone have a DVD player to donate?
UPCOMING EVENT: Special guest speaker, Historian and Museum Currator, Gary Thompson, will be presenting the story of the Spruce Goose, the world's largest seaplane, at Mathew's Cafe located in the Almond Orchard Mall, Chico, 02/07/06 at 7 p.m. It's free and open to the public.
