Olympics

Coffeesnob writes, ...."Just a little FYI. I am getting suspicious with age. I have been watching and for the most part enjoying the winter games. I have noticed a real lack of enthusiasm on the part of the media toward our team. It is bad enough that it makes one think this is far and away the worst team we have ever fielded. That would be a gross error.

I did a little searching and found a incomplete history of winter Olympics on the CBS sportsline.com site. It has listed the 2002 games back to the 1924 games. It turns out that if your only looking at medal counts, we have fielded some real dogs. In 1924 we won 4 medals. We did manage to improve with time. In 1988 we won 6 medals. As it stands now we have 20 medals in this Olympics, that is pretty impressive. I am sorry more people didn't watch the games, they really missed out. I am also sorry that our media feels the need to "report" things the way they do. It all goes back to them doing anything they can to take away from Americas greatness. In this case they are also taking away from some really great Americans. Keep that in mind when you find yourself in agreement with them."
