What's a good citizen to do?
Tina writes..."Americans have for many years supported a policy of acceptance, tolerance accomodation and inclusion (regardless of the law). Our motives of convenience, fairness, decency, indifference or a simple desire to see others enjoy the freedom and prosperity we enjoy, might have been well intended but the truth is, we failed to look ahead and anticipate the mess we'd find at the end of that compassion and convenience road.
Following 911 we had the perfect opportunity to address this issue in an atmosphere that would have made perfect political sense but, well, we all know how hindsight works. Now, in these volatile and troubling times, angry threats to tin-eared pandering politicians leaves little room for satisfaction.
What's a good citizen to do? The good news is that the simple act of taking responsibility can be powerful. I, for one, intend to quit complaining and be like gravity. My message to our leaders, "JUST DO YOUR JOB, HAMMER OUT SOLUTIONS, and QUIT PANDERERING, YOU LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF FOOLS."
