Gore's "Passion"
by Tina Grazier, Post Scripts
In the early 1980's Al Gore went in search of a vehicle, an idea or cause that would capture the attention of the American people and launch him on a steady path toward the White House. He settled on the environment, a perfect choice. It would help deflect attention away from the ties his family had to Armand Hammer of Occidental Petroleum...hmmm...(Isn't that like having ties to Haliburton?) But I digress, as they say.
Let's fast forward and pretend... "Gee Tipper, I gotta find a way to tell the American people about global warming. It's scarier than the terrorists!"
"Oh Al, you're so right...I know, since love is never having to say,'I'm sorry', let's do a show!" And so was born...

Why would you parody the man that had 500,000 more votes than Bush; won Florida, and lost the Presidency because five supposedly states'rights conservatives on the Supreme Court flipped on their bread and butter issue?
Seems like he accomplished more than you have, dear.

Drzal, darling, I cannot help that people still believe that Gore won or that the Supreme Court "decided" the election.
On Dec 1 the Supreme Court heard arguments on whether the Florida SC acted properly when it forced the Florida Secretary of State (Katherine Harris)to accept manual recounts submitted after the legal deadline.
On Dec 4th the US Supreme Court asked the Florida SC to explain why it ordered Katherine Harris to accept results submitted after the Nov 14th deadline mandated by state law.
On Dec 12th the Supreme Court reversed the Florida Supreme Court's decision ordering manual recounts in certain counties...because it was unconstitutional. The USSC contended that the recount was not treating all ballots equally in violation of the equal protection and due process guarantees.
All of this happened because the Gore team refused to accept the outcome of the election and proceeded to question ballots in certain counties. Democrats were in charge of the voting stations in those counties. If there were irregularities perhaps it was because the democrats didn't do a good job of helping voters cast their ballots since any voter who thinks his ballot has been ruined can ask for another. The Gore team wanted to change the rules during the process but only in counties where democrats had control. It all stunk to high heaven. Ironically, if he had not tried so hard to manipulate the system, and instead had asked for a statewide recount the SC would most likely have ruled differently or not heard the case.
Anyhoo, there were all kinds of irregularities, some that would have helped Bush, like the military votes that were "delayed". And finally, several news agencies investigated the recount votes and concluded that Bush had more votes. Democrats were then, and still remain, sore losers.
And yes, Drzal, Gore has accomplished more than I. I'm not sure what that has to do with any of this. The parody was for fun. I don't mind poking a little fun at his wild assumptions and dubious conclusions or at his attempts to scare people. He and others on the left refuse to treat theories as theories. This simple act makes discussion and the search for answers impossible. Not only is this irresponsible but it is also unseemly for a man who has "accomplished so much".

Jack, The rock tossing is probably more interesting. If I manage to get a few roses along the way I'll happily accept those too.
