Bizzare Flight With A Raving Lunatic
by Jack Lee
On the flight from London to Washington, she ranted in veiled threats, paced the isles and told stewardess' she had something in her carry on bag that the air marshals might want to look at. She said she was associated with a group that had two words, but couldn't say what those two words were, because the last time she did, it got her kicked off the flight. Later, as she began pulling down her slacks, she was finally restrained by several passengers with handcuffs, provided by the flight attendant.
The woman was identified as, Catherine C. Mayo, 59, from Vermont. She lives part time in Pakistan and was charged yesterday in federal court with interfering with a flight crew. Now get this: She is a journalist and she writes about her unique "American" perspective in the Daily Times of Pakistan. A news account said, "... in the past Mrs. Mayo criticized President Bush -- calling him "a president not elected by the people"-- and responsible for the war in Iraq."
Here's an example of her writing, "The folksongs of the 1960s will never be written again because of President George Bush. He has hampered the liberties of my country in the name of September 11. Songs now can only talk of patriotism they cannot mention peace,...."
You need to read the whole article about this one... see what they found in her carry on bag, that's an eye opener too! (See link above)
God only knows how long Mrs. Mayo has been teetering on the edge of insanity while she spewed out her anti-American rhetoric to a gullible public that she had to go all the way to Pakistan to find. Now, mercifully, she's self destructed. Sorry, no sympathy here. I think there's more than a few like Mayo roaming around loose in the media, being taken as responsible jouranlists when they are in reality just borderline skitzos. Remember the title from Dr. Michael Savage's recent book, "Liberalism is a mental disorder? It talks about why the crazies seem to gravitate to the left. Wonder if Mrs. Mayo ever read it?"

Yeah, Limbaugh and Savage come to mind immediately, especially that drawer-dropping bit.

Well Libby, you might be right, but lets take a look at your two examples:
Limbaugh and Savage may grate on people who don't care for their on-the-air flamboyance and showmanship, but each guy is an outstanding success at what he does and this is backdropped against a huge field of contenders who would like to displace them. They had to really work and be bright, talented people to stay on top as they have.
Consider also, each is a published author of best sellers, each is a gifted public speaker and writer, even though some may not care to hear what they say, they still have that talen and its reflected by their ratings. Savage is also a man of letters and has a remarkable background in botany and food science.
They really aren't anywhere close to the crazies with a pen, like Mrs. Mayo. These are serious, rational people. Whether you like their delivery style or not, is another thing.
