President Must Pass Aptitude Test
by Jack Lee
Thinking out loud now, but should we require a Presidential candidate (or even other high office candidates) to first qualify for running by passing a basic civics exam?
Outside the surreal world of politics, "we the people" have to jump through all sorts of hoops, including remedial testing and background checks before we get hired. This is the real world.
Some jobs require you to pass a psycological test, some may even require an aptitude test. Our bosses at all levels of employment have many creative tests to make sure they gets the best quality employee they can. Why should we voters settle for any less, especially when it comes to the President of the United States?
Testing is nothing new to our culture. Throughout our school years we have proficiency tests to determine if we can move on to the next grade level right up to college entrance exams and beyond. We also have special exams for high security positions too. Isn't the Presidency the ultimate in a high security job? Shouldn't he/she be tested so we know they are mentally fit? So is it THAT unreasonable to require elected officials to share some of those same real life burdens and in the process assure us they are all they claim to be?
Given all the corruption and incompetence that we have witnessed in government, I really have to wonder if the time has not come for a pre-election test?
I want to know if candidates for high office really understand the basics for good government and what better way to show it than through test scores? Call me, demanding, but I want to be assured by some small measure my candidate understands the Constitution and the fundamentals of running a democracy! This also means having a knowledge of basic accounting and business practices, plus some history, geography and foreign policy knowledge too.
How about incorporating an IQ test and a personality test? Seems reasonable to me. And while we're at it, why not require a polygraph test? Then have all the answers made public. I know what you are thinking, then most of our politician wannabe's would drop out because we asking for too much honesty! Actually, I think this might clear the field of the bums who run on money and BS and get us a whole new breed of candidates. Like those who might not have otherwise been inclined to run, knowing how stacked the election system is for those who are connected or have the bucks. Just think, if we tested for brains, ethics and job comprehension before they could run for office! Wouldn't that be a nice combination in a candidate? Wouldn't it be refreshing?
Well, ok, I know you are still worried about having zero candidates qualify, then suppose we gave the test with no failing grade and then we make the results public and let the voters decide? Would that be any more palatable? Why not? Do you want the President to get in there by making backroom deals and being a really, really good BS'er with no common sense, morals or leadership? The demands of this high office are just too critical to leave it entirely up to election spin doctors who tell voters what to think and what we should know...I would rather know what a candidate knows and thinks, wouldn't you?
As it is, the worlds most demanding job, where the leader of the free world has his finger on the nuclear trigger has virtually no qualifications except for his age and citizenship. Without testing for intelligence, leadership and morals, I think we could get some real duds, like a lying pervert or a softhearted idiot for a President. Hey, it's a stretch of the imagination to think like that....but it could happen. Better to test. What do you think?

Home Sales - Bad News Continues
Existing-home sales in Illinois fell nearly 10 percent in October, compared with the same month last year, the Illinois Association of Realtors announced Tuesday.
But after three months of a double-digit decline in sales, last month's downswing looked almost like good news.
Sales totaled 13,025 in October, a 9.7 percent decrease from 14,430 in October 2005. It was the seventh straight month of falling sales, bringing 2006's year-to-date total sales to 145,678, about 7.1 percent
below the total of 156,746 from the same period last year.
IT'S A BUYERS MARKET...FERNANDINA BEACH - Jeff Timian was sure he was making a good investment this year when he bought and renovated a house east of 14th Street on Beech Street in Fernandina Beach.
After purchasing the house, Timian, who moved here from Telluride, Colo., in 2005, did extensive renovations to make the house more tempting to buyers. The makeover to the 1,100-square-foot, 26-year-old home includes a new roof, new flooring, new appliances, new deck, landscaping, paint, bathroom upgrades, new doors, granite countertops, sinks, and inset lighting.
But now, after the house has sat on the market for months, Timian's sure thing isn't so sure. He's now offering it for sale below its appraised value, "I had the property listed with a realtor for five months and didn't get any offers. I had a few showings, he said. "When I had some interest in the property in August, I had it appraised. It appraised at $235,000."
But that deal fell through. He's since listed the house himself, but hasn't had much better luck.
"I've had open houses every weekend. I've had a lot of lookers, but no contracts," he said.
Last week, he had the house listed for $229,000. This week it's down to $225,000, he said.
"I'm not going too much below $225,000. At that point, I still make money," he said.
But not as much as he expected. That's not the fault of Timian's house, its price or its location, according to local real estate experts. The real estate market has gone soft nationwide after a decade-long boom, and Nassau County is feeling the effects.

No Room at the Festival
by Tina Grazier
Christmas is the name of the holiday but apparently some Americans have such delicate emotional health that we can't risk letting the story of Christ's birth be advertised at a German festival in Chicago. For the record a "holiday" is defined as "Holy Day" in Webster's (first definition). But putting that small bother aside for the moment, let's examine the considerations:
Worried that ads for The Nativity Story would offend non-Christians browsing in the traditional German Christkindlmarket in the heart of downtown, the city asked the German American Chamber of Commerce
to reconsider New Line Cinema, which made the film, as a sponsor. The group then told the studio it would not be part of the bazaar that began Thursday...city officials say advertising plans, including a loop of the new film that was to be played on televisions at the festival, might offend non-Christians. "Our guidance was that this very prominently placed advertisement would...be insensitive to the many people of different faiths who come to enjoy the market for its food and unique gifts...
Hey, if people want to participate for the food and gifts that's fine but please respect the reason for the event and take any offenses home with you when you leave. I'm pretty sure that non-Christians attending a Christmas event would expect to find "things associated with Christmas" on display anyway. Just like they expect green beer to flow like water on March 17th...18th...19th. I 'm also pretty certain that anyone attending a gay pride parade in San Francisco had better be prepared for the possibility of offense and expect almost anything including wagging weenies and bare buns. So what makes this different? Why are we not sensitive toward Christians? Why does the big diversity tent hang a sign saying "Christians need not apply"?
The answer is obvious to anyone willing to speak the ugly truth. It is bigotry pure and simple. It is also the reason the season has become very secularized and "commercial". Christians have been coward into putting faith...in the closet because our expressions of faith might offend. We stopped sending traditional cards and singing traditional songs so as not to offend. Even poor Cindy is a victim of this nonsense:
"We've worked hard to make sure there is a fair representation of all those faiths celebrating something special," said Cindy Gatziolis, a spokeswoman for Mayor's Office of Special Events.
Something special? This woman cannot even bring herself to acknowledge the event by name. (Christkindlmarket...looks like Christ+small child+market to me, correct me if I'm wrong my husband is napping).
95% of American's say they celebrate Christmas. I think that figure alone demonstrates there should be a place for Jesus in the festival in Chicago...and in stores and celebrations across the land. We are a strong people, we can handle it.
"The Nativity Story", the movie that's causing all the commotion in Chicago is opening in theaters this week. I've seen the trailers and it looks like a wonderful movie. I hope you'll go see it.

From Rick Boggs....
THE LETTER TO GOD: There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address. He thought he should open it to see what it was about.
The letter read:
"Dear God,
I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had $100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension check. Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope.
Can you please help me?
Sincerely,
Edna"
The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few dollars.By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman.
The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.
Christmas came and went.
A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady to God. All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened.
It read,
"Dear God,
How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift. By the way, there was $4 missing. I think it must have been those b*st*rds at the Post Office!

From Tinman....Well the crooks have found a way to rob you of your gift card balance. If you buy Gift Cards from a display rack that has various store cards you may become a victim of theft. Crooks are now jotting down the card numbers in the store and then wait a few days and call to see how much of a balance THEY have on the card. Once they find the card is "activated", and then they go online and start shopping. You may want to purchase your card from a customer service person, where they do not have the Gift Cards viewable to the public.

Bee-utiful Thing
by Tina Grazier
Looks like the folks at the Los Alamos Lab are producing more than scandal these days and that's a bee-utiful thing. A report out of Reuters found describes the new weapon:
Researchers...said they trained honeybees to stick out their proboscis -- the tube they use to feed on nectar -- when they smell explosives in anything from cars and roadside bombs to belts similar to those used by suicide bombers... By exposing the insects to the odor of explosives followed by a sugar water reward, researchers said they trained bees to recognize substances ranging from dynamite and C-4 plastic explosives to the Howitzer propellant grains used in improvised explosive devices in Iraq.
Apparently wasps have been trained to do this work but they just didn't have the same professional stature as the bees.
Meanwhile the Jerusalem Post reports similar work of a "nano" variety:
- Israel is using nanotechnology to try to create a robot no bigger than a hornet that would be able to chase, photograph and kill its targets...The flying robot, nicknamed the 'bionic hornet', would be able to navigate its way down narrow alleyways to target otherwise unreachable enemies such as rocket launchers...
And that's the latest buzz on weapons technology.

Who Are These Guys?
by Tina Grazier
The left in our country along with their friends around the world are bound and determined to cut the United States of America, and her right-wing administration, down to size. The evidence can be found in countless news stories and headlines every day, stories about apparent "failures" in the war, so-called" prisoner abuses, inept or inadequate use of diplomacy, and procedural and legal overstepping. The constant hammering away over the past few years has paid off according to one source following the recent elections:
"The right-wing stranglehold on Congress has been broken," declared Joelle Fishman, chair of the Communist Party USA 's (CPUSA) political action commission, to a meeting of its 81-person National Committee this past weekend. Fishman noted, "This is a victory being celebrated around the world."
Propaganda works. Accusations and insinuations are difficult to counter. Seeds of doubt, once planted are bound to sprout, especially when given daily doses of food, water and sunshine. The media is all too willing to supply plenty of these and the crop of noxious and deadly weeds naturally follows. The mood has definitely shifted.
America may have lost the will to win the war, and that's just fine by these guys. A recent story describes the intention to prosecute Donald Rumsfeld and impeach the President:
"But a German prosecutor is now considering whether to go after Rumsfeld and more than a dozen other high-ranking American officials for alleged war crimes at Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo... The initiative came from the New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), which filed a 200-page complaint in mid-November on behalf of 11 Iraqis who claim to have been abused at Abu Ghraib and a Saudi national with similar claims about his treatment at Guantánamo. It's the sort of thing CCR does--an obvious add-on for its domestic litigation against
antiterror measures, its appeals for Lynne Stewart (convicted message-carrier for convicted terrorist mastermind Omar Abdel Rahman), and its recent efforts to mobilize demands for the impeachment of President Bush." Jeremy Rabkin, The Weekly Standard
We saw the pictures from Abu Ghraib. They were not something that painted America in a positive light or made any of us proud. Yet I wonder at the ability of the left to ignore the obvious possibility that this was an isolated incident, a breakdown in procedures or command. Without the sensational headlines this story would have died and the military would have continued to investigate and prosecute any wrongdoing. Justice would have been served. Incidents such as these, made bigger than life by the media, condemn the entire leadership and, by association, an entire nation. Was the motivation guilt? Or was the story made big on purpose? How do we explain the left's ability to completely ignore beheadings, car bombings and the like? These stories barely rate a mention. The following first-hand account from a story titled "Slaughter in the mosque: a new terror for Iraqis" by Ned Parker and Ali Hamdani in The Times UK online can be found color=red> HERE:
"They wrapped him in a nylon sheet. They held him on his side. He was begging. One man sat on his legs, the other on his hips. A third guy, in black, remained standing and took the sheath off his knife and yanked
the guy's hair and recited ya Allah, ya Mohammed, ya Ali (the revered Shia figure) and then called out the names of the Imams (Ali's descendants) and rested the blade on the Amariyah guy's throat.
"The guy begged them and screamed for God to save him. But the man started to cut and shrieked ya Allah, ya Allah . Then there was a cracking sound like a sheep being slaughtered. The man pulled off the Amariyah guy's head. His eyes were still open.
"He wiped his blade with a cloth. I waited four hours but it felt like 400 years. When they came for me, I collapsed. They pulled me from under my arms. The sayed was there. I begged him, for God's sakes, my father is sick and old. He will die from shock." The sayed smiled and told Mahmoud they were releasing him. He was thrown in the back of a car, blindfolded, and taken to the Karrada district of Baghdad . Only when he got home did he discover that his family had paid $10,000 -- a huge sum in Iraq -- to free him. Mahmoud still dreams of the man being
murdered. He wakes up screaming: "Don't slaughter him. Please don't kill him."
Countless atrocities and human rights abuses as well as terrorist acts go on every day around the world. People are being slaughtered and abused, enslaved and oppressed in every conceivable way...yet the focus of evil for the left is the President of the United States and his administration. Claiming to be against war and for the oppressed they fail to defend, protect or liberate any of these while at the same time waging a covert war against those who will. They defend those who would deny the same to any of their victims while failing to support efforts
to liberate those same victims for the sake of peace. This demonstrates an unbelievable ability to hold two conflicting views in the same space in their heads, at the same time...without exploding!
Who are these guys, these leftist crazies? If you don't know I suggest you make an effort to find out.

DOUBLE STANDARDS?
by Jack Lee
Photo on left is Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi, the former mouthpiece for top-level Taliban, now a student at Yale University.
Grandmothers for Peace claim IF just 1% of the graduates in the Army run School of Americas should go on to commit crimes in their home countries it should be shut down! Other American schools and colleges, including Yale, have been educating terrorists and criminals for years, anybody want to close down Yale? What's the percentage of preists, doctors, lawyers, teachers, police officers or congressmen that commit crimes...1 or 2%? You will always get a small percentage of bad apples, thats just life and liberals can't protest their way to perfection...at Yale or the School of Americas.
This is just another case of a double standard by foolish, unthinking, anti-military and totally nutty liberals...for more on this see story below.

So, You Think You Want Universal Healthcare?
by Tina Grazier
Shudder...not me! A recent article titled "Filth and shame in a NHS hospital" in the UK Sunday Times supplied startling evidence of the failures that doom state run healthcare systems. As Minnet Marrin writes, "Week after week reliable reports and the government's own figures tell a disgraceful story of incompetence, debt, misery and filth in the National Health Service. That story is supported, week after week, by heart-rending personal accounts of horrors on the wards."
The article's main focus is "same-sex wards' but the complaints make it clear that many problems plague the British
healthcare system, not the least of which is uninspired care. Meanwhile, here in America the campaign slogans and utopian promises that herald liberal notions of a free healthcare system do not holdup when the realities of such a system are articulated by those living with it:
"...dying of cancer, was put onto a mixed geriatric ward where confused people wandered about without supervision. One man with dementia regularly ma*tur*ated at the nurses' station and tried to get into women patients' beds; he was a threat to them all but staff took no notice..."
"...patients have to give answers to intimate questions in the hearing of other patients. One deaf old man was repeatedly asked when he last had an erection, until tears ran down his cheeks."
"Patients lie naked, half washed and forgotten, their sick and ageing flesh exposed to everyone, while nurses rush elsewhere. It is commonplace to have to walk to filthy mixed lavatories with gowns wide open at the back. At a time of sickness and anxiety many people are profoundly embarrassed to be surrounded by a clutter of bed pans, colostomy bags, nakedness, cries of pain and sweat, blood and tears -- their own and other people's."
The push for universal health care will soon be back as democrats take control in congress and Hillary makes her bid for president. We must resist the urge to embrace this enticement that the word "free" calls up in us. Nothing is free...and every time it is claimed, the product offered is found to be only a cheap imitation of inferior quality and value, broken by days end.

School of the Americas - The Truth
Nick Freitas, who writes us about a few peacenik ladies from Chico who have totally mispresented the truth and refuse to accept the obvious facts.
It is our pleasure to present to you, Nick's views on this story that was carried in the E-R and in letters to the editor by some of Chico's crazy liberals:
School of the Americas. . . . . Let me try and explain something to the left about the former "School of Americas". We offer security assistance to friendly governments. We do this so we don't have to send our own soldiers down there to do it for them.
Now we could just send money down there, but then it would probably just get siphoned off to other things, so that wouldn't be good. Or we could send our own soldiers down there to train them, but then that would be more expensive, and require far more instructors. So, for the sake of expense, accountability, etc. we created a school
in the US where all foreign soldiers who attend said school start off their training with extensive humans rights classes. In addition to the human rights classes we can ensure that none of the money we are spending to support our allies goes to things like torture training, or wmd development. Instead they receive useful training in hand to hand combatives, small unit tactics, mission planning, etc.
The School of Americas makes perfect sense to anyone without an absurd far left political agenda.
Lee Rials, public affairs officer for the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, as the School of the Americas is now called, sent the E-R an e-mail defending his institution.
"I find it amazing that the truth about the School of the Americas and the institute is about 180 degrees from the beliefs these people (the demonstrators) have," he wrote.
"They accept the assertions of this political movement without questioning or looking at the facts that are available to them. The most stark refutation of their beliefs is that not one single example of anyone using what he learned at the school to commit crimes exists - not one.
"The indisputable fact that some who did attend at some time did later commit crimes is irrelevant because no one has shown any cause-effect relationship."
I truly enjoy the analysis difference here. You see the SoA rep says (accurately I might add) that there is no evidence of someone committing crimes based off what they had learned at the School of Americas.
Now there is a large Catholic contingent which usually shows up at these demonstrations because a while back some nuns were killed in Central America by individuals some of whom had attended the school. So why is their former attendance irrelevant as Mr. Rial suggests? Well, its simple, the School of Americas doesn't have a "How to kill a Catholic nun" class. At the risk of sounding obtuse; I can only assume that since Nuns are peaceful and generally unarmed, military training isn't required to kill one. All that is required is a desire to go to hell and avoid the long lines.
Now lets take a look into the liberal argument.
Protester: "Webster said she didn't put any stock in Rials' remarks. She said, "if 1 percent of the graduates of any school were committing serious crimes, it would make sense to look into what was being taught at that school."
First of all, were any of these protesters calling for a "...look into what was being taught at the school." I don't think so, they were screaming, shouting, and breaking the law, all in the name of closing the school down.
Secondly, there have been quite a few real live terrorists who have received training in the US at institutions such as Yale. And as far as I know, Yale doesn't require classes on human rights for its students, but I don't see these same people getting on a bus to go there. The reason is simple. Many of the protesters you see showing up at these demonstrations are more left wing, anti-military than anything else.
Look, if you want to believe that the US is taking the time and effort to ship military students from all over the western hemisphere for the purpose of teaching them how to torture and murder, then my guess is, nothing is going to convince you otherwise. But, it simply isn't true. Military education is just that, a form of education. What an individual chooses to do with it is their decision. Bringing them to the US to train them gives us far more oversight on what is going on.
These same liberals are the ones who want us to step up foreign aid to the third world, which is coincidently some of the least accountable funding you can provide, yet they turn their noses up at the SoA.
The math isnt that hard to compute. These protesters don't like the military. If they were truly concerned with people recieving training here, which they used for evil in their homeland, then there are far more non-military, non-government, highly liberal institutions which they should "...look into what was being taught at the school." US Housing Crash Continues
Nov 24, 2006 : http://patrick.net/housing/crash.htmlSan Francisco Bay Area Hit Hard... Why?
Prices disconnected from fundamentals. House prices are far beyond any historically known relationship to rents or salaries. Rents are less than half of mortgage payments. Salaries cannot cover mortgages except in the very short term, by using adjustable interest-only loans.
Interest rates going back up. When rates go from 5% to 7%, that's a 40% increase in the amount of interest a buyer has to pay. House prices must drop proportionately to compensate. 82% of recent Bay Area loans are adjustable, not fixed. This means a big hit to the finances of many owners every time interest rates go up, and this will only get worse as more adjustable rate mortgages (ARMs) get adjusted upward. Nationally, about $3,000,000,000,000 (that's trillion) of ARMs will adjust their rates to much higher levels this year and next.
Even if the Fed does not raise rates any more, all those adjustable mortgages will go up anyway, because they will adjust upward from the low initial rate to the current rate.
A flood of risky adjustable rate "home equity loans" draining equity from existing mortgages. Just like the bad primary ARM loans, these loans do not have fixed interest rates. When the interest rate adjusts upward, it can double monthly payments, forcing owners to sell.
Salary declines. From http://www.mccallstaffing.com/need/needsal.html we hear that Bay Area "salaries have in fact returned to 1997 and 1998 levels." Household incomes are not even half of what they need to be to sustain current house prices.
Population loss. San Francisco continues to lose population at the fastest rate of any city in the US. Fewer people in the Bay Area means less demand for housing. It recently cost $3623 to rent a UHaul from San Jose to the midwest, but only $1800 to move the other way. This is because far more people are moving out of the Bay Area than are moving in.
Extreme use of leverage. Leverage means using debt to amplify gain. Most people forget that losses get amplified as well. If a buyer puts 10% down and the house goes down 10%, he has lost 100% of his money on paper. If he has to sell due to job loss or an interest rate hike, he's bankrupt in the real world. It's worse than that. House prices do not even have to fall to cause big losses. The cost of selling a house is 6%. On a $600,000 house, that's $36,000 lost even if prices just stay flat. So a 4% decline in housing prices bankrupts all those with 10% equity or less.
Shortage of first-time buyers. According to the California Association of Realtors, the percentage of Bay Area buyers who could afford a median-price house in the region plunged from 20 percent in July 2003 to 14 percent in July 2004. Strangely, the CAR then reported that affordability fell another 4 percent in 2005, yet claims affordability is still at 14%.
Surplus of speculators. Nationally, 25% of houses bought in 2005 were pure speculation, not houses to live in. It is now possible to buy a house with 103% financing. The extra 3% is to cover closing costs, so the speculator needs no money down. Even the National Association of House Builders admits that "Investor-driven price appreciation looms over some housing markets."
Trouble at the builders. They are being forced to drop prices even faster than owners. They overbuilt and have huge excess inventory that they cannot sell at current prices.
Trouble at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They are being forced to reduce their holdings of risky loans. This means they are not going to keep buying very low quality loans from banks, and the total money available for buying houses is falling.
The best summary explanation, from Business Week: "Today's housing prices are predicated on an impossible combination: the strong growth in income and asset values of a strong economy, plus the ultra-low rates of a weak economy. Either the economy's long-term prospects will get worse or rates will rise. In either scenario, housing will weaken."
Who disagrees that house prices will continue to fall? Real estate related businesses disagree, because they don't make money if buyers do not buy. These businesses have a large financial interest in misleading the public about the foolishness of buying a house now.

A Bizarre Find in Egyptian Desert Caves
Ancient ships have been found in caves at the edge of the Egyptian desert. Yes, ships. In caves. In the desert! They are considered the oldest remains of seafaring ships in the world and also contain the cargo boxes they once hauled.
The cache was found in an area called Wadi Gawasis along a sand-covered bluff near the Red Sea by a team led by Florida State University anthropology professor Cheryl Ward. Wadi Gawasis is located about 13 miles south of the modern Egyptian city of Port Safaga.
The find suggests that ancient Egyptians sailed nearly 1,000 miles on rough waters to get treasures from a place
they called God's Land, or Punt. The wooden planks found in the manmade caves are about 4,000 years old, making them the world's most ancient ship timbers. Shipworms that had tunneled into the planks indicated the ships had weathered a long voyage of a few months, likely to the fabled southern Red Sea trading center of Punt, a place referenced in hieroglyphics on empty cargo boxes found in the caves.
"The archaeological site is like a mothballed military base, and the artifacts there tell a story of some of the best organized administrators the world has ever seen," Ward, an expert on ancient shipbuilding, explained in a news release announcing the findings. "It's a site that has kept its secrets for 40 centuries."
Scholars have long known that Egyptians traveled to Punt, but they have debated its exact location and whether the Egyptians reached Punt by land or by sea. Some had thought the ancient Egyptians did not have the naval technology to travel long distances by sea, but the findings at the Wadi Gawasis confirm that Egyptians sailed a 2,000-mile round trip voyage to Punt, putting it in what is today Ethiopia or Yemen, Ward said.
The six rock-cut caves were used by the ancient Egyptians as work and storage rooms to protect their equipment from the harsh desert weather conditions. Along with timber and cargo boxes, the archaeologists found large stone anchors, shards of storage jars and more than 80 perfectly preserved coils of rope in the caves that had been sealed off until the next expedition--one that obviously never came. The team also found a stela, or limestone tablet, of Pharaoh Amenemhat III, who ruled between 1844-1797 B.C., inscribed with all five of his royal names. This discovery provided further evidence that the items date to Egypt's Middle Kingdom period.
The findings will be published in an upcoming issue of the International Journal of Nautical Archaeology.

Cop Saves Blind Man - No Big Deal
by Jack Lee
Stockton, California, 2006: It was a bright winter day in November. A distant sun rose against a clear blue sky. The air was cold and damp as the night's frost melted away. As usual, the early morning traffic was light, save for two cars headed down a wide-open 6-lane boulevard. In the center lane was a black and white police car followed closely behind by a small Honda Civic in the outside lane.
As they approached the next intersection a blind man, perhaps in his late 60's, shuffled along with his white cane.
The man stopped on the corner, listened, and then tentatively stepped from the curb into the crosswalk while feeling his way with his cane. The man had only taken two steps then he paused. The little Honda and the police vehicle both slowed and gently stopped to yield the right of way and the pedestrian resumed walking slowly past the Honda first and then the police car.
It was at this point the officer noticed in his rear view mirror that another vehicle was quickly approaching them in the inside lane. He continued to watch for signs of slowing and as the distance between them closed, he could
now see the driver was talking on his cell phone, apparently oblivious why these two other vehicles ahead of him were stopped.
The driver was fast approaching that critical point where stopping for the pedestrian would not be an option. The older man was now just two heartbeats from stepping into the lane of an oncoming Buick! In almost reflex response, the officer laid on his emergency air horn.
Unfortunately, this not only startled the driver of the Buick, but the pedestrian who was directly in front of the horn! But, it caused the pendestrian to freeze in his tracks and there he stood, confused and frightened, swinging his cane wildly, as the driver of the Buick hit the brakes and skidded to a stop just inches from the man in the cross walk. Both men were obviously stunned and shaken as they mutually became aware of what almost happened. And the police officer, well, he just took a deep breath looked over at the stunned driver of the Buick and shook his head, as the blind man regained his composure and walked safely towards the sidewalk.
In another minute the morning traffic moved along as it always did. It was an otherwise unremarkable moment in time, where absolutely nothing bad happened, except in the minds of a few who were quickly brought together by fate and just as quickly seperated. It was business as usual, it was just another day, it was no big deal.

Three Thanksgivings
Thanksgiving is almost over, I say almost, because I know many families hold Thanksgiving a day early or a day later to accomodate their loved ones who must staff those places that are open 24/7, like police and fire departments or hospitals. I know several familes in this category, including ours.
We will be celebrated Thanksgiving on the 23rd and now again today, the 24th. This is to accomodate a nurse/daughter and a great grandma, so we're having more of the family over to the ranch today around 3 p.m. for our 3rd feed. I like holding Thanksgiving out here in the wide open spaces, it's more traditional. But, it's an increasingly rare scene given the changing times. Small farms and ranches are headed for extinction. Although, it's really the spirit of this time we're celebrating, not the location nor the surroundings. As far as I'm concerned, you could be holding it in a casino, just as long as your family is there to celebrate with you.
So, what were you thankful for this year? Good health is probably the standard answer for most of us and we're thankful for that too, for sure. The older we get, the more importance good health seems to have, doesn't it?
As always, we were extremely thankful to get this years walnut crop harvested, even though we lost about half of it to disease. Well, that's farming and that's really nothing when compared to all the good things that came our way this year! Today's guests will range in age 32 up to 90, yesterday it (we attended two dinners) was 14 to 64..we had to reach down the grandson to hit 14...another sign we're getting older? That's ok, some friends of ours who are a few years older just had their first grand daughter... on Thanksgiving day. Congrats to those new grandparents, Mike and Jan. You know what they say, "When a grandchild is born, so are the grandparents". But, my favorite one is, "The simplest toy, one which even the youngest child can operate, is called... a grandparent." lol
You know, it's a good age to be living in when you can call a loved one halfway around the world on these special days and it sounds like they are right next door. We only had to make a few of those calls this year, so that's another one of those things on our long list of Turkey-day blessings. To sum it up, we're not rich by a long shot and in fact we're probably a little worse off than last year, but we have still our dear friends, our family and our all freedoms that come with being an American. This all goes on that long list of what we have to be thankful for, no wonder it took us 3 Thanksgivings this year to get it all done!
PS Did you know it took 3 days of feasting for the first Thanksgiving, mainly to accomodate the indians who brought most of the meat?

PATRIOT PERSPECTIVE
Recounting our manifold blessings
What is the nature of gratitude, of true thankfulness? Acknowledgment of receiving a gift that is undeserved, then joy appropriately suffusing that knowledge, overflowing into recognition of indebtedness to the giver. In truth, we are not really giving thanks--we give nothing--we are only responding with properly grateful hearts that are due the Gift Giver.
That is the spirit in which Thanksgiving was first celebrated on our shores--and then persisted as a joining thread of our nation's character. The Pilgrims set us on the path to become a country humbly acknowledging the thanks we owe to Almighty God as Creator of life and Author of liberty.
At Thanksgiving nowadays, we're often invited to "count our blessings." Similarly, The Patriot's holiday tradition is to recount the origins of our blessings of liberty. Indeed, Thanksgiving is an indispensable part of the foundation of our nation.
The Pilgrims left Plymouth, England, on 6 September 1620, sailing for a new world that promised opportunities of religious and civil liberty. For almost three months, 102 seafarers braved harsh elements, arriving off the current-day Massachusetts coast, in November 1620. On 11 December, prior to disembarking at Plymouth Rock, the voyagers signed the Mayflower Compact, America's original document of civil government predicated on principles of self-rule. Governor William Bradford described the Mayflower Compact as "a combination... that when they came
a shore they would use their owne libertie; for none had power to command them..."
Starvation and sickness during the ensuing New England winter killed almost half their population, but through prayer and hard work, with the assistance of their Indian friends, the Pilgrims reaped a rich harvest in the summer of 1621.
The bounty, however, was short-lived. Under pressure from investors funding their colony, the Pilgrims had acceded to a violation of Christian prescriptions for honoring the laborer as "worthy of his hire," and for certifying property ownership rights for individuals and families--acquiescing to a ruinous financial arrangement holding all
fruit of their labors in common, so as to send back a quickly accounted half to their overseas backers.
Making matters worse, by the spring of 1623, Plymouth was in danger of foundering under famine, blight and drought. Governor Bradford wrote that the drought "continued from the third week in May, till about the middle of July, without any rain and with great heat for the most part, insomuch as the corn began to wither away... [The Pilgrims] set apart a solemn day of humiliation, to seek the Lord by humble and fervent prayer, in this great distress. And He was pleased to give them a gracious and speedy answer, both to their own and the Indians' admiration that lived amongst them... For which mercy, in time convenient, they also set apart a day of thanksgiving."
Colonist Edward Winslow noted the Pilgrims worshiped thus: "[W]e returned glory, honor, and praise, with all thankfulness, to our good God, which dealt so graciously with us..." So, the original American Thanksgiving Day centered not on harvest feasting (as in 1621) but on gathering together for public thanksgiving for God's favor and provision.
Bradford recorded in his history of the colony that moment in which Plymouth's leaders gave up their failed communal economy in favor of the free market: "At length, after much debate of things, the Governor (with
the advice of the chiefest amongst them) gave way that they should set corn every man for his own particular, and in that regard trust to themselves; in all other things to go in the general way as before. And so assigned to every family a parcel of land, according to the proportion of their number."
By the mid-17th century, the custom of autumnal Thanksgivings was established throughout New England. Observance of Thanksgiving Festivals spread to other colonies during the American Revolution, and the Continental Congresses, cognizant of the need for a warring country's continuing grateful entreaties to God, proclaimed yearly Thanksgiving Days during the Revolutionary War, from 1777 to 1783. In 1789, among the first official acts of Congress was approving a motion for proclamation of a national day of thanksgiving--again acknowledging the importance of a day for citizens to gather together and give thanks to God for our nation's blessings.
On 3 October 1789, by way of proclamation, George Washington wrote: "It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to
implore His protection and favour... I do recommend and assign [this day of public Thanksgiving], to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country."
It was 155 years later, at the onset of another war to preserve our liberty, that Congress permanently set November's fourth Thursday as our official national Day of Thanksgiving.
Like the Pilgrims, and many generations since, we should hold sure that whatever travails and straits we navigate, if we remain steadfast in faith and obedience, God will see us through under His care.
As Ronald Reagan noted in his 1982 Thanksgiving Proclamation, "Today we have more to be thankful for than our Pilgrim mothers and fathers who huddled on the edge of the New World that first Thanksgiving Day could
ever dream of. We should be grateful not only for our blessings, but for the courage and strength of our ancestors, which enable us to enjoy the lives we do today. Let us affirm through prayers and actions our thankfulness for America's bounty and heritage."
Indeed, we should: "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." (Psalm 100:4-5)
This Thanksgiving, please pray for our Patriot Armed Forces standing in harm's way around the world, and for their families--especially families of those fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who have died in defense of American liberty.
On behalf of your Patriot staff and National Advisory Committee, we wish
God's peace and blessings upon you and yours this Thanksgiving.
Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus, et Fidelis!

The First Thanksgiving Dinner

In 1621 the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast which is now known as the first Thanksgiving. While cooking methods and table etiquette have changed as the holiday has evolved, the meal is still consumed today with the same spirit of celebration and overindulgence.
(evidence suggests no turkey's were consumed in the earliest TG dinners)
What Was Actually on the Menu?
What foods topped the table at the first harvest feast? Historians aren't completely certain about the full bounty, but it's safe to say the pilgrims weren't gobbling up pumpkin pie or playing with their mashed potatoes. Following is a list of the foods that were available to the colonists at the time of the 1621 feast. However, the only two items that historians know for sure were on the menu are venison and wild fowl, which are mentioned in primary sources. The most detailed description of the "First Thanksgiving" comes from Edward Winslow from A Journal of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, in 1621:
"Our harvest being gotten in, our governor sent four men on fowling, that so we might after a special manner rejoice together after we had gathered the fruit of our labors. They four in one day killed as much fowl as, with a little help beside, served the company almost a week. At which time, among other recreations, we exercised our arms, many of the Indians coming amongst us, and among the rest their greatest king Massasoit, with some ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted, and they went out and killed five deer, which they brought to the plantation and bestowed upon our governor, and upon the captain, and others. And although it be not always so plentiful as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want that we often wish you partakersof our plenty.
Did you know that lobster, seal and swans were on the Pilgrims' menu? .
1621 Harvest Feast and Seventeenth Century Table Manners: The pilgrims didn't use forks; they ate with spoons, knives, and their fingers. They wiped their hands on large cloth napkins which they also used to pick up hot morsels of food. Salt would have been on the table at the harvest feast, and people would have sprinkled it on their food. Pepper, however, was something that they used for cooking but wasn't available on the table.
In the seventeenth century, a person's social standing determined what he or she ate. The best food was placed next to the most important people. People didn't tend to sample everything that was on the table (as we do today), they just ate what was closest to them.
Serving in the seventeenth century was very different from serving today. People weren't served their meals individually. Foods were served onto the table and then people took the food from the table and ate it. All the servers had to do was move the food from the place where it was cooked onto the table.
Pilgrims didn't eat in courses as we do today. All of the different types of foods were placed on the table at the same time and people ate in any order they chose. Sometimes there were two courses, but each of them would contain both meat dishes, puddings, and sweets.
More Meat, Less Vegetables...Our modern Thanksgiving repast is centered around the turkey, but that certainly wasn't the case at the pilgrims's feasts. Their meals included many different meats. Vegetable dishes, one of the main components of our modern celebration, didn't really play a large part in the feast mentality of the seventeenth century. Depending on the time of year, many vegetables weren't available to the colonists.
The pilgrims probably didn't have pies or anything sweet at the harvest feast. They had brought some sugar with them on the Mayflower but by the time of the feast, the supply had dwindled. Also, they didn't have an oven so pies and cakes and breads were not possible at all. The food that was eaten at the harvest feast would have seemed fatty by 1990's standards, but it was probably more healthy for the pilgrims than it would be for people today. The colonists were more active and needed more protein. Heart attack was the least of their worries. They were more concerned about the plague and pox.
Surprisingly Spicy Cooking...People tend to think of English food at bland, but, in fact, the pilgrims used many spices, including cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, pepper, and dried fruit, in sauces for meats. In the seventeenth century, cooks did not use proportions or talk about teaspoons and tablespoons. Instead, they just improvised. The best way to cook things in the seventeenth century was to roast them. Among the pilgrims, someone was assigned to sit for hours at a time and turn the spit to make sure the meat was evenly done.
Since the pilgrims and Wampanoag Indians had no refrigeration in the seventeenth century, they tended to dry a lot of their foods to preserve them. They dried Indian corn, hams, fish, and herbs.
Pilgram family at dinner...Dinner for Breakfast: Pilgrim Meals: The biggest meal of the day for the colonists was eaten at noon and it was called noonmeat or dinner. The housewives would spend part of their morning cooking that meal. Supper was a smaller meal that they had at the end of the day. Breakfast tended to be leftovers from the previous day's noonmeat.
In a pilgrim household, the adults sat down to eat and the children and servants waited on them. The foods that the colonists and Wampanoag Indians ate were very similar, but their eating patterns were different. While the colonists had set eating patterns--breakfast, dinner, and supper--the Wampanoags tended to eat when they were hungry and to have pots cooking throughout the day.

Here's a recipe' for a wheat pudding on the order of an Indian Pudding
In a large pot, bring the water to a boil and add the wheat. Lower heat to simmer, cover, and continue to cook for 1/2 hour, or until, soft. Drain off all the water and add the milk, cream, salt, mace, cinnamon and sugar. Continue to simmer, stirrng occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed(20 to 30 minutes). In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks and slowly stir 1/2 cup of the wheat mixture into the yolks. Then stir the yolk mixture into the pot, and continue cooking for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Serve sprinkled with brown sugar.
1 cup cracked wheat
1/8 tsp. ground mace
1 quart milk
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream

An Authentic Olive Branch
Part 3...
by Tina Grazier
"I WOULD LIKE TO extend an olive branch. Those of you who consider yourselves conservative and usually vote Republican have experienced"...unwarranted and unusually nasty political trickery at the hands of democrats over the past 40 -50 years. I'd like to apologize for that. To prove my sincerity, I vow to transform the
democrat approach to politics and governance. In the past we have been desperate to win and keep power in Washington DC and as a result, have used the most despicable means to achieve our goals. Our tactics set aside the more civilized and honorable cooperation and exchange and debate of ideas. Instead, we adopted a slash and burn policy; a doctrine of personal defamation and destruction. To put it in the vernacular, we treated the opposition like cr...er, garbage. Examples are Clarence Thomas, Robert Bork, Newt Gingrich, Newt Gingrich's mother, Ronald
Reagan, Nancy Reagan, Dan Quail, Oliver North, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Scooter Libby and George W. Bush just to name a few. We have also used the media to place blame on republicans for things such as
environmental disasters, the homeless, and the various contrived conditions of poor people, old people, sick people, children and schools. We have demonized institutions, businesses and inanimate objects such as the NRA and guns, the tobacco and pharmaceutical industries, BIG OIL and SUV's, and Wall Mart. We have also dishonored
and disrespected both the military and law enforcement. We have used the courts, instead of the lawmaking branch of government, to force our will and desires on the public. We have done these things because our ideas
generally run outside the context of the American Constitution and the will of the people and therefore are not popular when we present them honestly. We henceforth accept that some of our ideas and ways are in
the minority and that the ability to exercise and adopt alternative styles for ourselves in this free society is sufficient; we need not impose our desires, idiosyncrasies or eccentricities on others or change institutions for accommodation. All efforts to do so will be made through appropriate legislative channels.
"What I don't want is for you to drop into the deep funk we liberals have been in for two-plus decades... hang in there. And do not despair"...I won't make promises as to "how we will treat you, the minority, in the coming years" other than to say we will respect you and we promise to be honest in our dealings with you. We are all patriots and our leaders, chosen from among the electorate, are charged with serving all of the people. The American people deserve the best efforts of our leaders in finding solutions to problems; solutions that work for
everyone. We democrats begin with the acknowledgement that republican's have been right. Small government was the original intention of the founders and small government works best. It is my hope that this will find "we the people" at the beginning of a new chapter in American politics; a chapter that brings honor and dignity to the people of this great nation.
Dear Michael, I'm pretty certain that my version is one you would not consider. So, until you are willing to humble yourself, admit to negative and destructive ways, apologize to those who have suffered unnecessarily under your nasty and vicious attacks, and vow to change your ways, you will find me playing defense as if I were gravity. I promise you, I will be watching and will leave no stone unturned in my efforts to defeat you. I will not stand by and let you continue in the same underhanded and negative ways nchallenged.

Michael Moore, Benevolent Peacemaker
Part Two
by Tina Grazier
Michael continues with a promise to protect us with every single resource..."every resource"... if this were true GWB would be his hero! Let's continue:
7) Should a mass murderer ever kill 3,000 people on our soil, we will devote every single resource to tracking him down and bringing him to justice. Immediately. We will protect you.
You will protect us with what? A legal document? A UN resolution? A demand that they never do it gain...delivered, of course, with a really mean facial expression?
8) We will never stick our nose in your bedroom or your womb. What you do there as consenting adults is your business. We will continue to count your age from the moment you were born, not the moment you were
conceived.
Excuse me? You have had your "nose" in every aspect of our lives and our persons since the sixties! The conflicts we now experience are all a direct result of your big noses. Your noses are in our affairs when you take our
daughters without our consent for abortions and when you teach grade-schoolers sexual values and techniques. Creating the "right to choose" was a legal slight-of- hand maneuver rather than a bill passed in Congress. When you decide we can't smoke even in our own homes or cars you are nosing into our business. You are in our wallets with every new tax you can think of, in our decision making when you seek to regulate and control every business decision we make, and in our religion when you deny the free expression thereof. You are nosey,
meddling, and controlling ...so please, don't pretend righteous innocence with us about noses!
(OK time out....giggling, falling on the floor now...was anyone else aware of the science that supports the counting of age from birth as proof of life, counting...just counting? Whoa...no wonder the environmental sky is falling)
9) We will not take away your hunting guns. If you need an automatic weapon or a handgun to kill a bird or a deer, then you really aren't much of a hunter and you should, perhaps, take up another sport. In the meantime, we will arm the deer to make it a fairer fight.
There you go with your nose in our business again! Legal, Constitutional, and none of your business! The real world doesn't exist in cartoons...not even full length features!
10) When we raise the minimum wage, we will raise it for your employees too. They will use that money to buy more things, which means you will get the money back! And when women are finally paid what men make, we will pay conservative women that wage too.
There you go with the "we" again. Will Hillary, Ted or Pelosi pop into my business to make payroll for me every couple of weeks? It's also a little on the disingenuous side to leave out the part where people earn a few more bucks but the price of bread, clothes, shoes, hamburgers, cars, bicycles, latte's, movie tickets also go up. But the biggest double scam in the whole proposal...union dues and tax revenues will also increase. This is the dirty little secret...good old "increase and increase and increase" Ted and the union boss gang just love spending other our money. What was it that Bill Clinton said...we know how to spend it better than you do? Oprah certainly seems to be doing OK, isn't she a woman? Women don't need your help or your nose in our business, we're doing fine and if we aren't it's up to us to better ourselves.
11) We will respect your religious beliefs, even when you don't practice those beliefs. In fact, we will actively seek to promote your most radical religious beliefs ("Blessed are the peacemakers," "Love your enemies," "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" and "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me"). We will let people in other countries know that God doesn't just bless America, he blesses everyone. We will discourage religious
intolerance and fanaticism -- starting here at home.
Big of you, given your record...we're back to being Lordly, aren't we! Taking on the responsibility and risking ones life to bring freedom and democracy to a region that has suffered under oppressive, tyrannical regimes IS being a peacemaker. Stopping the movements and leaders that groom terrorists who have vowed to destroy "all infidels" (that's you too Mikey) IS being a peacemaker. It demonstrates love of enemies and neighbors (you don't let someone continue in destructive behaviors if you love them and you don't turn your back on those who suffer under terrorist regimes if you love them)...don't the children that suffer in those regions deserve deliverance from terrorists activities or isn't the "village it takes to raise a child" real for you anymore?
Walking in a parade with a sign screaming a slogan amounts to very little in terms of compassion and love. It is a self-aggrandizing gesture at best. Making a movie filled with lies and distortions is just plain destructive...and despicable...and not in any way supportive or loving. As to the rich man...your own portfolio isn't lacking in bucks
and your books and movies have enjoyed great monetary success, so maybe you should try that camel thing yourself. File it under "motes" and "beams" in your promoting "radical" religious beliefs portfolio. And finally, saying "God Bless America" doesn't mean that the speaker thinks only America is blessed...it's arrogant, and stupid, of you to assume so.
12) We will not tolerate politicians who are corrupt and break the law. And we promise you we will go after the corrupt politicians on our side first. If we fail to do this, we need you to call us on it. Simply because we are in power does not give us the right to turn our heads the other way when our party goes astray. Please perform this important duty as the loyal opposition.
OK, I'm calling you on it...do I have to provide the list too?
And his parting shot is, well, just more of the same from his Lordship:
...this is your country too. You are every bit as American as we are. We are all in this together. We sink or swim as one. Thank you for your years of service to this country and for giving us the opportunity to see if we can make things a bit better for our 300 million fellow Americans -- and for the rest of the world.
Too bad you didn't feel this way 12 years ago...or 20...or 30. You say we're "every bit as American as you"...wow, that's insightful! Did you just make that up? Let's face it; you and your guys just can't seem to
play it straight. Trust is impossible without honesty. A recent newspaper item reveals the reality: "The impeachment and removal from office of Bush and Cheney is the only way to rectify the horrible abuses committed in our name and under the guise of spreading democracy and fighting terrorism."
Part three, what an olive branch could look like if delivered with honesty and humility, tomorrow.

For Women Only - Abaya's For Fashion
by Tina Grazier
A programming idea being considered for the Oprah Winfrey Show (once old George is out of the way) is called "Exploring the phenomenon of women as chattel" The show will debunk this Eastern mandate while seeking to incorporate the abaya into our everyday lives as a peacemaking gesture.
An follow-up programming idea is called, "The abaya for all seasons-exploring the next big thing in fashion". The show will examine the many ways to incorporate the garment into the wardrobe as a gesture of good faith and to promote world peace.
Both show ideas are highly regarded as potential award winning projects. One producer has offered that a woman as accomplished and celebrated as Oprah could easily convince these eastern men of the errors in their thinking. She will be suggesting patiently but quite clearly, that the abaya is restrictive of women's rights. She will point out that the abaya just doesn't do a woman justice, physically or sexually. She will demonstrate the unfairness of making women wear something that men need not wear. She will invite them to wear one, just for a day...at her expense of course, just to experience for themselves the discomfort and the unfairness of their demands. Maya Angelou will be present to read a new poem written especially for the occassion. The magic of liberalism will permeate the airwaves and suddenly, right there on TV for all the world to witness, these men, having been subjected to Western liberal values by the world's wealthiest woman, will immediately see the error of their ways. They will promise to subscribe to both "O" and "cosmo" in order to better correct their extreme and brutal patriarcal behavior. and... we will all live happily ever after.
World peace...it's so easy the liberal way.

Michael Moore, Benevolent Peacemaker
Part One...
by Tina Grazier

After years of vicious attacks, lies and distortions aimed at republicans, Michael Moore says he wants to play nice. He can afford to be generous now, now that his party is "controlling" things again, but he begins badly:
"...those of us on the other side of the fence don't really know what it's like to win...forgive us"
He uses the victim card to set the tone and then has the audacity to ask for forgiveness for not knowing how to rule? Forty years of democrat dominance in Congress, The Kennedy Dynasty known as Camelot, Jimmy Carter, Tip O'Neal and the inimitable Bill Clinton...your assertion doesn't ring true good buddy...were you just unconscious during that period in our history?
I, and the millions who voted for Democrats, have no interest in revenge for the last 12 years.
Interesting that your perception is there might be a need for revenge...could you be hoping our side won't seek revenge for your unkind...no, cruel and conniving activities? But revenge isn't necessary when your guys have already mastered all the basic politically menacing arts: defamation and harassment of persons, maligning and destroying the "enemy" party, lawsuits, hearings, and oh, my very favorite, repetitious accusation in the press based on little or nothing, but sensationalized all to he**!
Michael says he wants to extend an olive branch, but can we trust him? Lets evaluate the offer. His "olive branch" comes in the form of a 12 POINT PLEDGE:
1) We will always respect you. We will never, ever, call you "unpatriotic" simply because you disagree with us. In fact, we encourage you to dissent and disagree with us.
Drop the "always" Mikey...you haven't earned it and it sounds silly coming from you.
2) We will let you marry whomever you want (even though some among us consider your Republican behavior to be "different" or "immoral"). Who you marry is none of our business. Love, and be in love -- it's a wonderful gift.
Let us? You will "let us" marry whomever we want? How Lordly of you. The institution is centuries old and well defined...don't lie about it!
3) We will not spend your grandchildren's money on our personal whims or to enrich our friends. It's your checkbook too, and we will balance it for you.
OH PLEASE...ever heard of LBJ's "Great Society"? Or what about Robert Byrd, the king of pork, or Hillary Clinton's infamous healthcare plan? (she's bringing it back you know). TAX and SPEND was invented by your guys under the guise of helping the poor (using people, especially the poor is tasteless and sick)... balanced budgets have never been on your radar screen.
4) When we soon bring our sons and daughters home from Iraq, we will bring your sons and daughters home too. We promise never to send your kids off to war based on some amateur Power Point presentation cooked up
by men who have never been to war.
"Our sons and daughters"...which do you have over there, a son or daughter? ...Amateur, huh? Insults don't really fit in the lexicon of peacemaking...we're only on #4 and you've dropped that olive branch already!
5) When we make America the last Western democracy to have universal health coverage, and all Americans are able to get help when they fall ill, we promise that you too will be able to see a doctor, regardless of your ability to pay. And when stem cell research delivers treatments and cures for diseases that afflict you and your loved ones, we'll make sure those advances are available to you and your family too.
You brought out your "magic wand" right off the bat, didn't you? And your plan is to "give" free healthcare and miraculous cures to all without putting the bill on the backs of our kids and without limiting and tying the hands of those who actually perform the medical tasks. And if that isn't enough you're also going to keep the communal checkbook balanced? Brother you're gonna need that magic wand...better look for some fairy dust too, juuuuuust in case.
6) When we clean up our air and water, you too will be able to breathe the cleaner air and drink the purer water. When we put an end to global warming, you will no longer have to think about buying oceanfront property in Yuma.
More magic wand talk...and who is this "we" anyhow? If problems do exist, it will be entrepreneurs, inventors and industry that produce the actual solutions. They will do it based on real science, not theories and scare talk because these bright and enterprising folks will be using their own dimes instead of taxpayer money. When your own money or that of investors is at stake you can't afford to go flying off in all directions hoping to get it right. The taxpayer will contribute voluntarily through the purchase and utilization of new products and services and technologies. The only things you guys ever produce is more HOT AIR with slogans, bumper stickers, regulations and laws...these undermine invention...and require higher TAXES.
Tune in tomorrow for part two of Michael Moore's 12 point plan.

For Women Only
Excerpted from Memri.org:
Proper wearing of the abaya, the black head scarf. "Because of her sympathy for Arabs and Muslims, Donna, an American woman, decided to wear an abaya in an attempt to see how it felt and how it influenced her behavior. She wanted to show sympathy to women wearing abayas, especially after various incidents against Muslims in the post-9/11 world. She wore an abaya and walked along one of the busiest streets in a major American city. She tried to be as normal as possible, talking to people, laughing and behaving as usual. She said that she never felt the abaya was restricting her or limiting her movements or her freedom.
"Among those who observed Donna, however, were some Muslims, Arabs, and even some Saudis. The Saudis were upset by what they saw and told Donna so. When she asked why, they explained that she was using the abaya in an invalid way. She then became curious to find out what they considered a valid way to use it. They explained to her that she must walk slowly, must look down when walking and keep her eyes more or less in front of her - no glancing from side to side, in other words. She must not talk to anyone or laugh loudly and certainly must not address any remarks to anyone lest they misunderstand her purpose in doing so."
You American women must understand that walking fast, taking glancing looks as you walk fast, looking up as you walk fast or talking to someone in a friendly manner leaves you wide open to a charge of decadent immoral behavior. Clearly, such provocations demonstrates way too much independance and you know this is wrong. This gives the appearance your husband or father does not have full control over you and that you are being insubordinate and willful. So for your own sake, please behave and act with great humility, subordination and shyness while in public. Do this whether or not you are wearing the abaya!
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation...we shall be watching you. Do not make us tell you this again.

EAT A WALNUT - Live Longer
Excerpt from "Super Foods Rx"........
"SuperFoods Rx is based on a very simple concept: Some foods are better than others for your health. We can all guess that an apple is better for you than a potato chip. But what about choosing between a couple of pretzels and
a few walnuts? Did you know that eating a handful of nuts a few times a week can reduce your risk of getting a heart attack by at least 15% and perhaps as much as 51%? Even if you smoke, are overweight and never exercise. That’s how powerful certain foods are.
SuperFoods Rx presents the 14-known nutritional powerhouse foods that can help you extend your health span -- the extent of time that you have to be healthy, vigorous and vital -- as well as, perhaps, your life span. These are foods that have proved to help prevent and, in some cases, reverse the well-known scourges of aging, including cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, hypertension, certain cancers, and even dementia.
Many super foods may already be part of your diet, as most people already routinely enjoy broccoli, oranges and even spinach. Blueberries could possibly be everyone’s favorite super food, but most people only eat them as a treat when they’re in season. When you learn about the awesome power of this berry, and some other berries, to promote health I’m sure that, like me, you’ll try to eat berries every day. Other super foods, like pumpkin and turkey, only make occasional appearances in the average diet; you’ll soon see that they should be eaten more frequently. Some other super foods may be brand-new to you, like soy or perhaps yogurt, and I’ll show you how to enjoy them if you think you don’t like them.
Walnuts are the surprising super food. Surprising, because most people think nuts belong in the “avoid category due to their fatty content. But the power of nuts is almost stunning. I try never to go a day without eating some nuts and seeds. Some super foods are less of a surprise; perhaps you’ve read about wild salmon recently. Wild salmon has so many health benefits that it seems foolish not to eat it regularly."

Student Tasered In Library (The News As It Should Have Been Writen)
by Jack "Spoofing the news" Lee
From the LA Times as re-written by yours truly: A spoiled brat college student got exactly what he deserved when he was finally shocked with a Taser gun by a campus police officer. This brat assumed he was being singled out during an ID check because of his Middle Eastern appearance, his ambulance chasing lawyer said, despite all the evidence to the contrary.
Attorney Stephen "the Bagman" Yagman said he plans to file a federal civil rights lawsuit accusing the UCLA police of "brutal excessive force." He's hoping to make some really big bucks out this farce. Yagman is looking for every absurd technicality to justify his rediculous lawsuit, this includes an allegation of false arrest stemming from the Tuesday night incident at a campus library.
Ambulance Chaser Yagman's pathetic client, Mostafa "the brat" Tabatabainejad, was shocked only after he resisted police and started yelling to incite other to come to his aid. Yagman, the ambulance chaser, failed to tell the media that the police were only doing a routine walk thru of the libary and ID verification. This is something they have done for years for student security. It was NOT profiling, but it looks like Mostafa wasn't smart enough to figure that out before he started acting like a fool.
Yagman said Tabatabainejad (the brat) repeatedly declined to produce his school ID because he wrongly thought he was being targeted because of his appearance. The 23-year-old senior is of Iranian descent but is a U.S.-born resident of Los Angeles and why this is of any interest to anyone is beyond me. He wasn't charged with being an Iranian-American, he was charged with resisting an arrest, but I suppose this ethnic reference will create some sympathy among certain groups looking for a reason to blame police for something.
After Police spoke very patiently and for a number of minutes with Tabatabainejad the brat, he eventually decided to leave the library, but then he absurdly insisted on dictating the terms of his exit! Now that is something anyone who has been around just doesn't do! So this goof ball falls limp on the floor when an officer escorting him out would not take his hand off him, Yagman the ambulance chaser, said in so many words. By the way, I think Yagman is getting paid by the word. He's really mouthy and I hope he is charging Tabatabainejad the brat's family plenty too..they deserve it for raising this brat, besides they can afford it.
It is a long standing policy of the police to place a hand on the escorted person to maintain control for the safety of the officer and the person being escorted. Tabatabainejad did not want to cooperate and he soon got what he deserved. He had wrongly considered this was a case of racial profiling, the ambulance chasing lawyer said. Unfortunately, the lawyer was not tasered for his comments, but he probably should have been.
The student started acting like an idiot, yelling and screaming after police started used the Taser to get his cooperation as he was being place under arrest. According to Yagman this was wrong, but what does he know? He wasn't there and he will say anything because he is very well paid to say whatever his client wants.
Generally, police don't want to do their dirties in front of a lot of witnesses," he said, but I say the dirt is all Yagman's and his spoiled brat client.
But police have said Tabatabainejad the brat encouraged others at the library to join his resistance, and when a crowd began to gather, an officer used the stun gun on him. They said it was long-standing policy to ask students to show ID at libraries late at night to keep the campus safe. No harm was done to the brat by the taser.
Tabatabainejad was arrested for resisting and obstructing a police officer and later released on his own recognizance, which seems like a perversion of justice after the nationwide flap he has caused.
The incident was recorded on another student's camera phone and showed Tabatabainejad screaming while on the floor of the computer lab. It was the third incident in a month in which police behavior in the city was criticized after amateur video surfaced because these videos began long after the incidents were underway and only showed part of the story. The other two involved the Los Angeles Police Department.
UCLA's interim chancellor, Norman Abrams, meekly urged the public to withhold judgment while the campus police department investigates. This means wait until the arresting officers have finished writing their arrest reports before students rush out to lynch them.
Rash and equally spoiled student activists were planning another one of their infamous and idiotic rallies Friday to foolishly protest this non-incident, and several communist groups hiding behind the label of civil rights organizations will also attend, including Amnesty International and the Council on American-Islamic Relations who were calling for an independent review. The police had no problem with an independant review.

Playstation 3 Mania - Customers line up!
by Jack Lee
Devotees of Sony's Playstation video gaming platform started lining up Wednesday evening in front of the "Best Buy" store on 20th Street. These fans just had to be among the first to own the new Playstation 3 which can't be sold until Friday morning. Shown in the photo to the left are Paul Thompson-19 and his friend, Alex Aronis-18. Paul and Alex said they already own the older Playstation 2, but they had to have the newest version just as soon as it came it out and they didn't mind standing in line for 3 days to do it. Sometimes this meant standing in the rain.
According to Best Buy, only 26 Playstation 3's will be available for sale when they open tomorrow morning.
As Paul and Alex watched the line growing, it soon became apparent they needed to make up some rules to keep it all civil. So, they worked out a few simple rules with the Best Buy management and it goes something like this: You have to personally stand in line and that entitles you to have a number assigned to you. This guarantees you an
opportunity to buy a Playstation 3...IF you are among the first 26 numbers. According to the agreed upon rules, the line would be checked about every hour and if anybody drops out of line for more than an hour, then they lose their place. They must physically have to remain in their spot too, no wimping out to lay in the backseat of their car. I asked, What if rains, can't you take shelter under the sidewalk roof nearby? Nope, you have to hold your place in line. I said, Well it's good you all have tents! (There were about 6 dome tents in a row) "Uh, I wish that was the case!" said one those qued up near the front of the line. He had a chair, but no tent. He was rained on last night, but held his spot even though he didn't bring any rain gear...now that's what I call a loyal Sony customer!
What's so good about Playstation 3 that would cause people to stand in a line for 3 days, sometimes in the rain, just to get one? Well, according to Paul and Alex this game is really that good. It's much faster, has much improved graphics over the PS2 and it now features wireless controls... to name but a few of the upgrades.
Apparently the PS 3 is a pretty good deal, even at $600. As one of the Best Buy employees explained later, just the DVD game players often sell for about a grand and the Playstation is like two games in one. It can handle the Sony Trade Mark "Blue Ray" game format as well as regular DVDs... uh, Blue Ray? Don't ask. I didn't understand that part either, but I'm sure everybody in line did. So there you go, the Playstation 3, it's the newest, hottest, wizziest, "gotta have it" game out here! So, IF there was one big ticket item that's going to be HOT, HOT, HOT for Christmas it looks like this is it!
I'm told there are similar lines at Walmart, Circuit City and wherever the $600 Playstation 3 is being sold! Maybe we should be buying some stock in Sony about now?
2149 hrs. UPI And now this breaking story just in 40 minutes ago...TOKYO: People who buy Sony's new PlayStation 3 console, which hit U.S. stores Friday, could help search for a cure to diseases like cancer and Alzheimer's by connecting their machines to the Internet.
The new PS3 machines are as powerful as supercomputers and can help Stanford University researchers speed up analysis of complex human protein structures, according to Nanako Kato of Sony's gaming arm, Sony Computer Entertainment. When the program — dubbed Cure@PLAYSTATION 3 — is launched, PS3 owners can contribute by registering their machines with Stanford, downloading specially designed software and leaving their machines online to process data when they're not playing.
"The PlayStation 3 system is a console with a conscience," said a release issued by Sony and Stanford in August. "The Cure@PLAYSTATION 3 project will potentially transform the way medical research is conducted."
Yet ONE MORE REASON TO BUY A PS3 and you thought this was just going to be a mere a game??? Maybe there's a tax write off here when using it for medical purposes? Hmmmmm...

Extremism Exposed - A Sobering Look
by Jack Lee
DEADLY EXTREMISM – If you missed the Glen Beck Show "Extremism Exposed" that was on CNN Nov 15th you missed a lot. This program was dedicated to reviewing the propaganda of hate that constantly fills the airwaves in the Arab world. This was raw footage seen for perhaps the first time ever by average American viewers.
The first question that Beck raised was, "Why haven't we seen this before?' Referring to the plethora of hate media in the Middle East. The answer was, politically correctness. “Political correctness is going to kill us" because people are too afraid to show such explicit video and talk about it for fear of repercussions." So once
again truth is sacrificed on the alter of political correctness because the media thinks you can't handle the truth. You are shown what the media wants you to see, not what’s out there polluting the minds in the Middle East. "Islamic extremism is the biggest threat to our way of life since World War Two and we'll never be able to fight it -- if we can't see it," said Beck.
The Imam screamed above the cheers of a massive rally against Israel and the United States, "Even the stone shall say, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and cut off his head! And we shall, by Allah, we shall cut it off! Jihad for the sake of Allah!" And so opens this expose' and the first of many threats in many hate speeches that followed. Beck assembled a collage of film clips taken from all over the Middle East in the last 3 months, but the one thing they all had in common was they used the Islamic religion to justify their hate and a call to arms.
A young Palestinian girl is forced onto an operating table while two doctors in green surgical scrubs hold her down as she struggles and one of them then prepares a large hypodermic needle. She screams, "For the love of God stop....oh, Grandpa, where are you? Help, save me! she cries, as she is injected and her final words are "No, no stop, what are you doing to me?" The girl has beautiful blue eyes and it is her eyes these evil Jewish doctors are after, they are harvesting her eyes!" It is a television drama series aimed at inflaming the passions of the next suicide bomber, the next terrorist....
An Orthodox Jew is meeting with another Jew in his basement and says, "I want the blood of a Christian child before Passover for the Matzos!" And they plot how to get this child and kill it. This is another propaganda drama and this sort of bigoted story telling is not just confined to Arab television. It is in the media everywhere in Arab countries, even in the schoolbooks that the Arab children begin using as early as kindergarten. A cartoon in the Official Palestinian Newspaper shows a drunken Ariel Sharon and George Bush toasting each other over bottle of Palestinian blood. They are laughing and drinking blood and this didn't warrant even a meek protest from the US, because it was nothing unusual in this part of the world and it was tame compared to the video we saw later.
"Americans don't seem to take this threat seriously," explains Beck. "Here are these extremists, telling us clearly and plainly what they want to do, and we won't pay attention.
A guest reporter born in Palestine explained how this hate rhetoric has been absorbed so easily, "The Arab people are conditioned to believe wild, incredible stories without question, perhaps because they have never had a free press."
The next video clip was from a so-called "investigative news special" from Iran. Did you know the Zionists are the world's largest shareholders of soft drink manufacturers? This is what the Iranian reporters discovered and it gets much worse, Coke and other big American businesses are working with the Jews to destroy Iran. "Coca Cola, besides giving clear and continuous support to the Israeli government, has invested billions of dollars to topple the Islamic Government of Iran!" I bet you didn't know Coke and Israel were partners before this revelation? "This way they export their colonialists schemes along with their product and it costs them nothing," they reported.
Did you know Pepsi is in on this big plot too? Yes, as the reporter explains, Pepsi actually means "Pay Each Penny Save Israel"! The facts are less dramatic, see Pepsi Cola has been a registered trademark since 1902 and its name was derived from the ingredient "pepsin". Of course Israel didn't even exist in 1902, a fact that would have been easy verify even in Tehran. That is, if the people in Iran checked their facts, but why bother? They hear the same junk from their friends, relatives and it’s on the news every day. This investigative story continued to expose other Jew loving, Arab hating, Zionist plotting big companies that are out to get them, like Tommy Hillfiger, Calvin Kline, L'Oreal, Garnier, etc.
Walid Shobat, another of Beck's guests, was a former terrorist, turned journalist and recently wrote a book, "Why I left Jihad". He confirmed he too was indoctrinated at a very young age and believed the outrageous stories for years until he was finally exposed to the ugly truth about his leaders.
On Sept, 19th Iran's President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad View image declared before the United Nations in the most admirable and glowing terms, that we are all nations of the world community and how we are all obligated to seeking common understanding and justice! Such great words spoken before the global news media, but just one-month later back in Tehran, far removed from the international spotlight, he had a different speech. There he violently rails on the UN Security Council and two counties in particular, the United States and England. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says, "The whole world knows America and England are the enemies of Iran. These two nations must respect the power and might of Iran and if they don't the Iranian people will force them to bow and surrender!" Geez, can't you just feel the love in that statement? Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, one man, two faces...two messages and we've only been exposed to the carefully crafted messages brought to us in interviews by people Mike Wallace, here Ahmadinejad stressed peace and brotherhood.
In a western news interview Ahmadinejad said, "We want peace, we want to live in brotherhood with all nations." Then back in his own country he says, "I say to the western nations, stop supporting these corrupt people, the global rage of the Muslim peoples is accumulating, the rage of Iranian people may soon reach to explosion!" The cameras turn to the massive crowd as Ahmadinejad leads them a chant, "Death to Israel, death to America"! Later we see Mahmoud Ahmadinejad offering a war prayer that concluded with, "Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of an Islamic Nation's fury!" President Ahmadinejad has long been preaching an apocalyptic doomsday message, but few in the west will ever hear it thanks to our political correct media filtering system.
Ahmadinejad words become even more alarming when you consider Iran is pursuing an unrestricted, secret nuclear program. Beck says, "You need to see what you are not seeing anywhere else" and he goes on to explain in the most literal terms, "To many Iranian people we are the great Satan, we are the enemy and you need to understand this!"
Beck's next guest was Israel's former Prime minister Benjamin NetanyahuView image. He pointed out that Iran is in a rush to build nuclear power plants supposedly for peaceful energy purposes, but he reminds us that Iran is awash in oil and really has no practical need nuclear power plants except for the enriched uranium they produce that could be used in building nuclear weapons. Netanyahu says Iran's first objective is the elimination of Israel, but eventually it is their goal to establish Islamic dominance over the western world. Paraphrasing Netanyahu, he learned from the holocaust, that when someone says they are going to exterminate you, you better believe them. What we see going on in Iran and elsewhere in the Arab world now is a replay of 1935 and the building of an attempt at conquest, extermination and domination.
Next, suicide missions - the ultimate in smart bombs. They are deadly efficient and you have to wonder what is it that makes people that driven, that desperate, that hateful, that they are willing to die and their families are willing to let them die? Beck's program used the Arab media's own film to expose the techniques that openly recruit and glorify the bombers. He showed how this insane act has turned it into a global phenomena and one that may soon be reaching the United States.
The Arab videos shown to us next were all designed to instill fear and incite Muslims to violence, but one in particular that was recently aired on Hizbollah television summed it all up for me. The interviewer was speaking with Basmallah, aged 3 1/2. She was cute little girl wearing a traditional Habib or white scarf pulled tightly around her head. He asked her if she was a Muslim and she said yes. He asked her if she knew who the Jew are and again she said yes. "Do you like them?" he asked. No, she said quietly. Why? "Because they are apes and pigs." I'm sure many in the Arab audience for which it was intended found this not only accurate, but adorable in a extremist bigoted sort of way... I just found it sick.
Moving along ... we are soon witness to a Kuwaiti Sheik who speaks into the TV camera as he says, "Mothers and Fathers you must train your children every night before they go to bed to go on raids in order to liberate Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa (al axa). And when your son goes to sleep after reading the Koran and the bedside verses, he should recite together with you the prayer of martyrdom, Allah I pray to you in all honesty to be martyred for your sake."
To recruit more martyrs the Palestinians have created cartoon shows specifically for children. These shows depict the Israelis in the worst possible manner of sub humans and of course the terrorists as heroes dying for Allah, the best possible thing they could ever do. A film clip shows a young Palestinian male cartoon character leaping off a tall cliff onto a convoy of Israeli soldiers. As he falls, he pulls a grenade pin and explodes his belt loaded with hand grenades just as the moment he falls into a troop transport truck.
On this TV show we see little children used to recite calls for Jihad and war on the Jews and so it goes, on and on...video after video, but you've never seen any of them have you?
And in other areas of the Arab culture, like the schools, the Arab textbooks teach revisionist history and the glories of jihad against the Jews and other enemies. Many of these books are purchased with Saudi oil money and are sent around the world to the 25,000 plus Muslim schools, some right here in the USA, inciting, inflaming, calling for war against the infidels and were just oblivious, you have no idea of the massive indoctrination going on the Arab world and elsewhere, because the media says such things are might cause you to be prejudicial.
To fully grasp the meaning of this article, imagine for a moment that the word "Jew" used in these propaganda films was substituted for the "N" word. Imagine that this massive global campaign was to convince little children to grow up to be bigoted, hateful killers, bent on destroying every black person in the world! Would YOU sit up and pay attention then? Would you be concerned enough to denounce it? Probably, you did take a stand against the KKK but, then it was trendy and it was oh so politically correct and 98% of everyone in the western civilizations acknowledged how wrong it was condemn or use violence against another human being because of their color.
Look what the world's outrage and unified actions did to bring down South Africa's apartheid...now there's a great example of what righteous intolerance and condemnation can do! So I have to ask you now, where is the worlds moral outrage one this one? We're heading towards another holocaust and all the warning signs are there. Who is standing up denouncing this outrageous extremist bigotry? Who among us is attacking their extremist lies and resisting it with facts and reason, certainly not the UN? The massive peace community from around the world that regularly occupies itself with rallies deriding US foreign policy or war in Iraq has never once held a rally to denounce the bigots in Muslim extremism, even though they have never had a more clear case of abuse and a cause for peace!
In Sudan's Darfur region it is estimated that at least 200,000 people have died and 2.5 million been left homeless because of extremist Arab militia's killing them simply because they are black. This has nothing to do with Israel or Zionists; it has to do with being black in the wrong the place. It is all about Arab Muslim bigotry, just like the example I used above and just a moment ago you were nodding in agreement how outraged you would be? I think all that sick extremist rhetoric appeals to our own deeply held prejudices and that makes this cause for peace off limits. I could be wrong, but what else could be holding back the voices of those who claim they are all for peace and justice?
Here's a reality check: Sooner not later, we are all going to deal with it whether we like it or not. And the price of our apathy and delay maybe counted in the deaths of blacks, whites, Christians, Arabs and Jews by the millions. Has there ever been a cause more worthy than your own self-preservation? Then stand up, use your free speech and resist by all peaceful means this bigoted Arab extremism and all extremism, when and where you find it!

CINDY SHEEHAN ARRESTED
WASHINGTON - Cindy Sheehan was arrested Wednesday as she led about 50 freakish looking radicals, to a White House gate Wednesday to deliver anti-war petitions on behalf of terrorists in Iraq. She claimed the petitions were signed by about 80,000 hardcore extremists in the US. She wound up throwing the petitions over the security fence after about 15 minutes of hysterically demanding to see the President.
The petitions also opposed use of military force to resolve the dispute over Iran's nuclear program.
Sheehan is famous for her line, "Terrorists are really the freedom fighters." Another clever quote was, "Our country has been overtaken by murderous thugs... gangsters who lust after fortunes and power!" I think saying our country is ABOUT to be overtaken by... is more appropriate.
The Berkeley, Calif., woman, whose son was killed in Iraq more than two years ago after he volunteered for a second tour in Iraq, was arrested along with three other screaming, wild eyed women on the sidewalk outside the White House gate, said a U.S. Park Police spokesman. They were charged with interfering with a government function after they blocked the gate and ignored orders to move on and instead followed the orders of moveon.org. Sheehan has been basking in the spotlight ever since her son's death. By the way, does anyone know if she ever bought him a headstone? Last we heard she spent the government insurance money on personal things.
Want to see the rantings of this woman so you know who she really is? Check this out....it would be comical if it were not so pathetic and destructive.
Here's a collection of Sheehan quotes:
"Thank God for the Internet, or we wouldn't know anything, and we would already be a fascist state."
"Our government is run by one party, every level, and the mainstream media is a propaganda tool for the government."
"Then we have this lying bas----, George Bush, taking a five week vacation in a time of war. You know what? I'm never going to get to enjoy another vacation because of him. My vacation probably -- this is really sad because I have a really cute dress I was going to wear to the banquet tomorrow night -- but I'm either going to be in jail or in a tent in Crawford, waiting until that jerk comes out and tells me why my son died."
"You tell me the truth. You tell me that my son died for oil. You tell me that my son died to make your friends rich. You tell me my son died to spread the cancer of Pax Americana, imperialism in the Middle East."
"And if you think I won't say bulls**t to the President, I say move on, cause I'll say what's on my mind."
"You get that evil maniac out here, 'cause a Gold Star Mother, somebody whose blood is on his hands, has some questions for him."
"The biggest terrorist is George W. Bush."
"If he thinks that it's so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little party-animal girls. They need to go to this war."
"What can we do to get him out of power? And I'm gonna say the 'I' word: Impeach. And we have to have everybody impeached that lied to the American public, and that's the executive branch, and any people in congress, and we got to go all the way down... to the person who picks up the dogs**t in Washington because we can't let somebody rise to the top who will pardon these war criminals. Because they need to go to prison for what they've done in this world. We can't have a pardon. They need to pay for what they've done."
"It's up to us, the people, to break immoral laws and resist. As soon as the leaders of a country lie to you, they have no authority over you. These maniacs have no authority over us. And they might be able to put our bodies in prison, but they can't put our spirits in prison."
"Is there anyone in America who cannot yet see that Donald Rumsfeld is a liar, that he -- as with Hitler and Stalin -- will say anything so long as he thinks it will help shape the world to his own liking? Is there even one sane adult among us who cannot see that Donald Rumsfeld is a threat to our nation's security and to peace on our beloved earth?"
"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC [Project for the New American Century] Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George [W.] Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11."
"We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now."
"I was raised in a country by a public school system that taught us that America was good, that America was just. America has been killing people... since we first stepped on this continent; we have been responsible for death and destruction. I passed on that bulls**t to my son, and my son enlisted. I'm going all over the country telling moms this country is not worth dying for."
"Our country has been overtaken by murderous thugs... gangsters who lust after fortunes and power, never caring that their addictions are at the expense of our loved ones, and the blood of innocent people near and far. We've watched these thugs parade themselves before the whole world as if they are courageous advocates for Christian moral values... and for the spread of democracy. Yet we all know that they are now putting in place, all across this country, a system of voting that provides no way to validate the accuracy of the counting of the votes... and that, by its very design, prohibits recounting the votes. Our loved ones have been buried in early graves even as these arrogant thugs parade themselves before the entire world, insisting that democracy is worth dying for, killing for, and destroying entire cities for... In their secret hiding places, while celebrating newly won fortunes with their fellow brass, these men must surely congratulate themselves with orgies of carnal pleasure as they mock the dwindling multitudes who are yet so blind as to mistake them for God's devoted servants."

OPEN LETTER TO SENATOR JOHN KERRY
SENATOR JOHN KERRY
304 RUSSELL SENATE OFFICE BUILDING
WASHINGTON DC 20510
DEAR SENATOR KERRY: WE ARE STILL LAUGHING OVER HERE IN IRAQ AT YOUR JOKE ABOUT THE TROOPS BEING DUMB. YOU ARE ONE FUNNY DUDE!
WE UNEDUCATED TROOPS DO HAVE SUFFICIENT ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE THAT YOU ARE A LOT SMARTER
THAN WE ARE BECAUSE YOU WERE ABLE TO GET OUT OF COMBAT IN THREE MONTHS. THIS IS WHY WE ARE SEEKING YOUR ADVICE. PLEASE GIVE US YOUR TRUSTY GUIDANCE.
1.) WHERE IS THE LEAST PAINFUL AREA ON THE BODY TO INFLICT A WOUND TO MYSELF?
2.) DOES IT HAVE TO BLEED OR WILL A SCRATCH DO?
3.) WHERE DO YOU GET THE FORMS TO FILL OUT RECOMMENDING YOURSELF FOR A PURPLE HEART?
4.) DO YOU NEED A WITNESS? IF SO, HOW MUCH DOES THAT COST?
5.) ARE THREE PURPLE HEARTS STILL GOOD FOR A TRIP HOME?
6.) WHAT IS A REALISTIC PERIOD OF TIME IN WHICH TO ACQUIRE THESE WOUNDS? LESS THAN THREE MONTHS SOUNDS A LITTLE SUSPICIOUS EVEN TO US.
7.) ONCE I GET BACK TO THE STATES AND FALSELY TESTIFY IN CONGRESS THAT ALL MY FELLOW DUMMY TROOPS OVER HERE ARE ENGAGING IN VICIOUS, INHUMANE CONDUCT, CAN I THEN GET ELECTED TO THE U.S. SENATE?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND KEEP THOSE HILARIOUS JOKES COMING.
JUST A DUMB G.I. IN IRAQ

"In the end more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free." --Edward Gibbon

The Colonel gets a Face Lift
KFC today became the world's first brand visible from outer space.
The fast food company has created a 87,500 square feet version of their founder, Colonel Sanders... in the new version the colonel wears an apron. The giant logo was created in Nevada, near the secretive Area 51. It was made by a team of 50...using one-foot by one-foot painted tile pieces.

Where Hate Resides
by Tina Grazier
Hate is a strong word that represents an emotion filled attitude. We recognize it as a negative force present in all individuals; something to be dealt with and discouraged. Lately, however, it has become much more. We have given it special standing in our system of justice recognizing “hate crimes as somehow different…as if other crimes, crimes against “other types of people, are not just as wrongful or serious. What’s disturbing about this, is that hate seems to be associated now with particular categories of people; a trend that nips at the edges of bigotry. It makes the groups potential or probable enemies without cause. The people found in those groups are no longer individuals; they are objects of guilt by association. Accusations of hate abound in our society but the current trend is to single out Christians and particularly Christian conservatives and, once again, religious
Jews as the enemy. One recent example comes from a pop star of amazing talent. He is free to speak his mind of course but, sadly, his reasoning skills are not nearly as engaging as his music:
"I think religion has always tried to turn hatred toward gay people," John said in the Observer newspaper's Music Monthly Magazine. "Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays."
Come on Elton, gay people and Christians people are individuals, not arms and legs of some designated freakish entity. They have, as individuals, the same capacity for hatred that all individuals have. The Christian religion promotes Christ as savior and redeemer and also love, forgiveness, acknowledgement of wrongdoing (sin) and adherence to certain laws or rules. It dares to define behaviors, such as stealing and lying, as wrong. It does not instruct anyone to hate the liar, indeed we are asked to forgive. Defining or naming behaviors or warning against engaging in those behaviors does not inspire or incite or promote hate. Within this context any individuals can respond hatefully whether gay or straight, Christian or secular.
"But there are so many people I know who are gay and love their religion," he said. "From my point of view, I wo
