War News From Iraq Saddens Democrats

Those who made it through the entire State of the Union speech last week got to see an American hero in the House gallery, but the news was not widely covered. Here is the story that was unwrothy of our MSM:

Army Sgt. Tommy Rieman, recipient of one of the military's highest honors, the Silver Star. Rieman, one of only 35 Silver Star honorees in Iraq, received his commendation way back in August, 2004.

But you can be excused for not recognizing his achievement because the major media never reported it. Not the New York Times. Not the Washington Post. Not USA Today.

In this war without heroes, the only soldier of interest to the press is a dead soldier. Recognizing heroes might legitimize a war that the MSM has actively opposed. Even Iraq's two Medal of Honor winners - the highest military prize - have been snubbed by the media (read here).

On patrol in Iraq in 2003, Rieman and his squad were ambushed, not once, but twice. Despite being shot in the arm and chest, and with shrapnel wounds to his chest, stomach and ear, Rieman went on the offensive to protect his wounded comrades. After fendning off the enemy with 40mm grenades, he called in a medical evacuation and began tending to his wounded.

Thanks to the president for recognizing such extraordinary heroism. Even if the media won't !

Oh but Jack, there is no good news in the Iraq war.

Its not that there is an media agenda; there just objective journalists that have managed to pass over any reporting concerning favorable stories regarding Iraq or the troops who fight there.

The sixties left, whether media, politico, protester, or citizen is loyal and patriotic to "their" idea of America which bears little resemblance to the America created by the founders. The way we know this is by observing the things they do and say...almost all of which are in direct conflict with the Constitution or the exact opposite of previous generations of Americans. Failing to honor those who risk their lives in defense of America is one of the most egregious examples.

Army Sgt. Tommy Rieman is an American hero and the President, our president, is an honorable man serving in very difficult and challenging times no thanks to the unpatriotic pretenders of the sixties generation who never grew up.

Thanks for posting this Jack...we would all do well to remember those who love America enough to answer the call risking everything.

You sure you're not just wanting to distract yerselves from what is, at this point, the "story." Remember the fourth estate is supposed to report today's news, not rehash of glorious doings of 2003. And today, the story is: "Whose bloody bright idea was this? And how the hell do we decently get ourselves out from under?"

Libby

The answer you never want to hear is, the terrorists had this bloody bright idea...they hold it still, they have held it for years, along with the major players in the democrat party whose words the terrorist leaders keep parroting. Hillary R. Clinton herself told Code Pink in 2003 that Al Qaida was training in Iraq and that Saddam was bent on developing biological and nuclear weapons and that we had to do something to get him out of power. Now she claims that "if I knew then what I know now" Big whoop...a leader doesn't get to play "overs"! This woman is no leader and the solution offered by her party is a road to a much bigger hell.

Tina, you're not still trying to assert that the War in Iraq has anything to do with the "War on Terror." Even our glorious leader has been forced to admit that was bogus.

Today's news details the latest Iraq audit, and the degree to which our money has been pissed away. Dyncorp figured prominently, and a wave of nostalgia overcame me. Why I hadn't heard that name since they ravaged HUD ... or was it the Bosnian sex scandal?

I'm sorry I must have missed that part where Iraq is not about the war on terror. Probably because Bush never said anything of the sort.

I will also point out, that rather and glean what I want from the report, I actually listened to the guy ho was in charge of doing the audit. He has repeatedly stated that there were allot of good things that have gone on as well. But corruption within the Iraqi government has been a huge problem. Why don't you try looking at the report for yourself, instead of merely getting the "highlights" off of truthout.org.

...So once again Libby is back, and once again, she contributes very little to reasoned discourse. When I saw Libby's first comment yesterday, I had resolved to try and be a little nicer this time to Libby, but after reading her posts today, I have determined that this is the same old Libby, who will throw fits all over the computer screen, only to disengage later.

Dont believe me? I would be happy to direct anyone who is interested to the numerous other debates that Libby has simply stopped responding to, when her position became untenable. You can decide for yourself, if her presence here is one of educated opinion, or simply an unintelligible extension of the most absurd in modern liberal theory.

For those of you exposed to Libby for the first time, I plan to introduce her to you in "Crocodile Hunter" Form.

(Imagine Australian accent)

"Watch as the frustrated liberal avoids intelligent debate in favor of the more familiar slash and run technique."

"This one is a real beauty, if you'll notice from our archives, Libby has traveled this area before. While the liberal is keen to fight at any given opportunity, they are just as quick to flee when they see that there is no hope of winning."

"The liberal is not familiar with swallowing the actual report in full before running to the first computer to print their opinion. A fragile creature, they prefer to have all of their information chewed up by the mother liberal and regurgitated to them, which they in turn attempt to give other creatures capable of finding and chewing their own food. They often feel despondent and are thrown into a rage when other creatures reject the vomitis tid bits the liberal attempts to shove down their throats."

"Notice that despite the efforts of the other animals to teach the liberal how to glean information for themselves, this only infuriates the liberal."

"The liberal is a proud creature, and will no doubt be back again, to once again try and browbeat the self sufficient creatures into submission."

"Until next time, this has been "Crocodile Hunter"

Even our glorious leader has been forced to admit that was bogus.

Your complete lack of respect is equaled only by your complete ignorance of the situation.

Our President has taken on a difficult challenge, one he did not ask for, and has handled it with the foresight to seek advice from knowledgable people and various sources. He has acted with courage, determination, grace... and humility...a word that never crosses the brain or lips of most liberals who's egocentric views limit their ability to see the larger view. And he has remained steadfast even in the face of traitorous disloyal anti-American rhetoric from leftist trash in our country. Do I call them trash out of meanness or hatred? No, I call them trash because they do not offer one shrivel of information or advice or an alternate plan that addresses the problem.

Answer me this ...who in the liberal world has a plan that will stop the ongoing terrorist threat...and who in the liberal world is willing to stand up and take responsability for the millions that die when America "pulls out" as we did in Vietnam...the peacefools war of nostalgic reprise?
