CIRCULAR WARMING CONUNDRUM

by Tina Grazier

I love to watch the antics that flow from liberal thought on environmental stuff; it’s an amusing way to pass the time. Withn the realm of the BIG Eco-Emergency protectors of the environment , and the solutions they demand, lie the seeds of a collision that has the potential to make their heads explode. They believe the BIG oil pollution problem can be easily solved with alternative fuels. Enter a green solution, ethanol…the next BIG thing! This new technology promises to save the planet from impending doom...tah dah! What do you want to bet that green hero’s like Al Gore are heavy investors? This does present a fantastic opportunity for economic growth in many poor countries. Good for them. Unfortunately for the greens, if this thing takes off, the demand for corn and sugar cane will grow, and Grow and GROW. …and so… “Uganda approves destruction of protected rainforest” OH NO!!! This little scenario is only one of many that in the next few years will test the bottom line for the eco freaks and the eco-heroes:

Officials said President Yoweri Museveni was keen on expanding the country's agricultural and industrial base in a bid to boost his donor-dependent economy. "This is the proper way of utilising the resources. It is easier to relocate the forest by planting trees elsewhere than to relocate a factory," Museveni's spokesman Tamale Miriundi told AFP.

But furious conservationists have warned that further encroachment of the forest would threaten up to 312 tree species, 287 bird species and 199 butterfly species. "This is going to be a disaster," warned a National Forestry Authority official who requested anonymity. "The ecosystem will be disturbed, the biodiversity will be destroyed and people's livelihoods will change for the worse."

I’ll bet ol’ Al is biting his nails in private…but, as long as the blow up holds off long enough for him to win the Peace Prize and make a few bags of cash, he’ll be fine.

The most telling sign to me that their is a bigger agenda than just "preventing global warming" is Al gore's statement that it isn't a Republican or Democrat issue, its a moral issue.

Really Al? I thought it was a scientific issue.

Ohhh thats right, libs despise science, unless they can find a way to manipulate it to push their economic agenda.

...it isn't a Republican or Democrat issue, its a moral issue.

You read it well, Nick! Doesn't this also sound like an opening salvo in a run for the presidency; a bid for a "uniting" presidency, perhaps? He's dreaming if it is. They have made this a "dividing" issue with their usual need to dominate the conversation and the solution, the need to control everything and execute power over people deciding who is awarded and who is punished....all of the usual carp!
