Serious Thought on Warming Issue
Herein lies the moral danger behind global warming hysteria. Each day, 20,000 people in the world die of waterborne diseases. Half a billion people go hungry. A child is orphaned by AIDS every seven seconds. This does not have to happen. We allow it while fretting about “saving the planet.”
What is wrong with us that we downplay this human misery before our eyes and focus on events that will probably not happen even a hundred years hence?- Philip Stott, guest author at To The Point News

oh BS. you and your neocon buddies don't give a f*** about hungry people dieing of aids in Africa.
They were doing that before people started 'fretting about saving the planet' and you didn't do sh** to stop it then.
Editors note: We have chosen to alter (with initials and with ***'s) the colorful language that Tasker used in order to deliver his timely and thoughtful oration. We are certain he expected as much.

My response to the endearing Tasker:
...and you didn't do sh** to stop it then.
Prove your position with some factual data or information please... and in the mean time, please notice it was an indictment on each of us as human beings...not just the "warming mongers":
...the moral danger behind global warming hysteria.
Also, please don't pretend to know the depth of anyone else's caring, neocon or not. Your obvious bias distracts from any point you might otherwise have made...and that diminishes you, Tasker.

I am fairly convinced that Tasker will reject any and all criticism, helpful or not.
He has his his thoughts and his biases and its not likely that anything we say will make one wit of difference to him. He's closed down, because he sees us as uncaring and ignorant people as opposed to himself, an enlightened, caring and a champion of virtue sort of person.
It's kinda sad, because I think he at least shows he is aware of important issues and tries to express himself, although he can't really articulate his ideas because of his anger and frustration that blocks the rational thought process.

Well Jack you're a lot more generous than Im going to be...
Is that so Tasker. Well let me see if I can lay it out for you. From the time I was 12 my staunch conservative RN mother took me on mission trips ranging from 4 days to 2 months helping the poor in Mexico and Asia. She constantly strove to instill in us an appreciation for what we had in America and a feeling of personal responsibility toward helping others.
I met a lot of different people on those trips, but I usually found them completely devoid of self important hacks like yourself.
The trouble with foul mouthed people such as yourself Tasker is that from my experience your long on wind and suggestions and very short on actual work.
Your notion of generosity is seldom to give of you're own time and money, rather you suggest that others give of their time and money, and feel that offering the suggestion is proof enough that you are morally superior.
Let me make this clear to you...supporting initiatives which take money from others and distribute them to the needy does not make you generous or morally superior.
Maybe if you were a little more concerned with programs that TRULY assist the poor, instead of simply redistributing other peoples money, I could have some respect for you.
Instead all we get from the thoughtful and caring tasker is what a bunch of thoughtless bast**ds we all are. God forgive us for thinking there might be a better way.
Please continue to comment Tasker, its always a joy to see liberals speak their minds. More guarded liberals package their "ideas" allot more efficiently than you do, so it saves on the time of having to drag out what they really mean.
***One more quick note. Wasn't it Bush who proposed sending millions of dollars to combat aids in Africa? Funny how such an initiative didn't endear Bush to Tasker in any way.

I'm sure Tasker himself convinced you of this over the course of his posting, and it is sad. He certainly demostrates a bundle of energy...directed with clarity and wisdom he could be a force for good. I keep hoping (low space to operate from) that he will go ahead and look for data and in the process stumble on some facts to crack the hard boiled egg that has taken the place of his natural intellect. The kid has potential! (don't know his age...call him a kid because he acts like one)

Bush has given more in aid to Africa for Aids than any president before...Even Clinton, Tasker.
I believe it was Reagan who did it first...yes, Tasker, Reagan.

This explains your willing commitment to a cause greater than yourself, Nick! You are not only a great American, but a fine example for others of what it is to be an American.

This is why some day y'all are going to remember the name of Nick Freitas as one America's great politicians.
As they said on Full Metal Jacket, he "talked the talked and walked the walk."

Hey Tasker, go read my latest post
http://www.norcalblogs.com/watts/
on how NASA has made a huge stride in pinning down the entire sun-earth climate linkage puzzle, and then be sure to post lots of "colorful" language when you refute that its got to be CO2 and nothing else. Feel free to call NASA a neo-con organization funded by oil companies if you like.
My readers can use the entertainment. Thanks.

Thank You Jack and Tina, but it was my mother that directed those family trips, and she is a great woman. I should be so lucky as to one day posses half of her goodness and energy.
P.S. Dont shift fire Jack...your the one were insisting runs for office!

what Tasker, no obscenities this time?
Posted by: Nick Freitas at March 26, 2007 03:39 PM
I guess we should hold elections for the 100's if not 1000's of jobs held by appointees? I didn't know President Bush was the first President to appoint people. How was it done by Clinton? On second thought, I don't want to know how people got jobs back then.

Toby, If we had the money...they'd make the time!

Well I still don't know what Tasker is talking about after you cleaned it up Jack.
Is there a missing post about "brownie, the fed and a frat buddy"?
Or maybe something was lost in translation for "rant" to "readable".
I have a question for Tasker. Why do you feel the need to use vulgarity in a civil discussion? What does that get you other than criticism and being dropped down a notch or two on the credibility scale?
Have you ever heard of the old phrase "you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar'?
Posted by: Anthony Watts at March 27, 2007 12:24 PM
Well I'm not sure what Tasker means by his comments...'
And as to his comments for me, well I'm sure he'll decide on something sprinkled with a couple F-bombs.
Posted by: Nick Freitas at March 27, 2007 04:30 PM
difference between appointing a frat buddy to a position like that and appointing a qualifed individual.
Like Janet Reno, for instance.

I think this website may make Taskers comments a little clearer. They speak the same language.
