Looking for a Good State with Low Taxes and Lots of Freedom?
A truly free state based on Jeffersonian ideals was a movement that was started decades ago. The State of Jefferson was really taking shape in 1941. In fact, you can see a proposed map and lots of other info on www.JeffersonState.org . Unfortunately, the movement was cut short by the patriotic organizers when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
Recently, a groundswell of support has rekindled. A growing number of Americans are fed up with the actions of the government in D.C. Many Californians have had it with the hypocritical and petty fighting of our dysfunctional legislators in Sacramento that are bankrupting and ruining our state. We have a number of Jeffersonian activists and organizers in most of the counties on the old map shown above. In fact, there will be a meeting to really get things moving in our local counties at 4pm on Sunday, March 1st at the Chico Main library. Anyone who wants personal freedom and a truly constitutional government is welcome to come.

"Many Californians have had it with the hypocritical and petty fighting of our dysfunctional legislators in Sacramento that are bankrupting and ruining our state."
But there are not "many Californians" living in the territory you outline ... which is, of course, why you have no clout in Sacramento. Well, that's not strictly true. You held up the budget for how many bloody months? ... but we're gonna fix that next election.
You can't have your way, so you're gonna crawl into a hole. I didn't get my way for eight long years. (Mind you, I did get myself a passport.)
Never mind Jefferson: call it West Dakota. Tee Hee.

"Never minding Jefferson" is something you do quite frequently on these pages Libby.

"You can't have your way, so you're gonna crawl into a hole."
Making an effort to form a new state is NOT crawling into a hole. It is taking action to remedy a problem...you progressives would call it being "proactive" if you had a clue how to do that other than by "protest".
This idea is called taking the initiative...it's called being creative to solve a problem...it's called being personally responsible. (a foreign concept I know)

"It is taking action to remedy a problem..."
The action being ... to remove yourself from your fellows, i.e., crawl into a hole. No, no, you must stay and fight the good fight.

Some of us can actually walk and chew gum. The "good fight" goes on in tandem.

"Stay and Fight the good fight" Libby, that is what most of us here do. And you have lost more battles than the Viet Cong! Yet, like them in Viet Nam, Your dishonest, intellectually vacant positions seem prolific in this state.
