A message from the Commander-in-Chief

To the Brave Men and Women of the United States Armed Forces:
We as a people and a Nation owe you a profound debt of gratitude, yet, to say thank you is not enough. You comprise the strongest and most powerful fighting force the world has ever known. Your unmatched strength, coupled with a stark awareness of the responsibility that it entails, never cease to inspire us. To courageously take on the tremendous burden of protecting us all, you have left the safety and comfort of your homes, a decision which your loved ones have valiantly accepted. This exceptional spirit of sacrifice is the mark of our Armed Forces and their families.
As we honor your service, w also reflect upon the lives of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country. You all stand as shining examples to the American people and to the world for your love of country, dedication to duty, and passion for freedom.
Serving as your Commander-in-Chief is my highest honor, and your well-being is my greatest responsibility. As a Nation, we are humbled by your selfless commitment, for we owe our freedom to your faithful service.
I wish you all the best, and may God continue to bless and protect you.

Thank you, Barack. As a veteran, I appreciate the intent. But as a stickler for correct usage, I have to correct one thing, a common confusion of holidays. It is Veterans' Day, not Memorial Day, that pays tribute to all who have served in the military. Memorial Day is strictly for those who did not survive.

Snopes knows! But, don't be too hard on Mr. Obama, this is probably the first time he's ever been forced to recognized Memorial Day and he obviously has some learning to do.
