Socialism, A Return to Feudalism and the Dark Ages

As I read the article on the Reformation, I was struck by the way the Muslim in the White House and his socialist buddies in congress are trying to return us back to the feudal days, where everything including the people are owned by the government. As good serfs, we are to just shut up and follow the rules and regulations set in place by today's church (which is the church of environmentalism ie..global warming and other earth worshiping entities), the nobles (congress and bureaucrats put in place by congress), and the monarch (Obama and any other Democrat President the media loves). Then if the government or the new church needs more money, we have the media playing the part of Johann-Tetzel, running around demanding we give more or we will all go to environmentalism hell.

In order to get us where they can completely control us they will need a new "Dark Age". Do you remember the "Dark Ages' from your history class? Well, those centuries were called the "Dark Ages" because it was a time when not much was accomplished. You could say it was as if someone had turned off the lights, because there was no new achievements in science, art, or literateur. The economy was so bad that men would literally be walking around naked because they were so poor. For protection and sustenance people looked to those who could provide for their basic needs because they could not do it for themselves. Well, we now have a situation in America where our enlightened leaders have all but destroyed the great job producing economy that we had. And as if things were not bad enough, they are ready to pass the cap and trade legislation, begin a value added tax, and they are working overtime to give us a nationalized health care system. Soon we will again be living in the "Dark Ages" that they need to keep us under control.

Once we are there they will need to continue the fear to keep us in check, and that fear will be what has already worked for them. The fear of rich capitalists and private entrepreneurs. They will continue to use the public education system to promote their religion of earth worship as their John Tetsels in the media help to spread their propaganda. These media yes men will convince the masses that our beloved monarch and his nobles only want what is best for us and that we need to let them have more of our money to do it. We will be constantly reminded of how the evil capitalists only want to destroy the planet, starve old people and force children to work in sweat shops. So to protect us from the horribly mean entrepreneurs they will ensure that every business is unionized and that the owner does not make exuberant profits off the backs of the hard working serfs.

Then to make sure all the serfs do not have time to think about their loss of freedom, they will just continue using the same mode of anesthesia the Romans used, entertainment. Hollywood, and sports heroes will continue to be allowed their million dollar paydays as long as they keep amusing the public so they won't realize how miserable they really are. As the years pass by, anyone who has not sold their estates to the government through inheritance taxes will be demonized and forced off their lands. In return for helping to control the evil capitalists, the union thugs will be given more control of businesses as the owners will be forced to capitulate at the whim of the feudal lords.

Through all this we will see the usual suspects (liberals zombie voters) defending this unholy trinity of church, state, and media. All the while us, the people, slowly become serfs working for our keep and being told that we should be happy with our lot in life. Question is, are you just going to just sit back and let this happen or are you going to start speaking up and taking a stand for democracy before it is too late and we are again living in a feudal system of the new "Dark Ages"?

Wow, talk about taking the wind out of my sails. Ha, Ha, LOL. I was attempting to set this whole scenario up with my articles on the reformation. Alas Fred, you have done a better job, and probably in fewer words, than I could have possibly hoped for.

Kudos Fred, and I totally agree with your premise. They say great minds think alike, and I am often wondering how it is you seem to say what I am thinking. Well, good job and I must admit that when I see an article written by you I cannot wait to read it, because I know I will be enlightened.

I came to a similar conclusion from another perspective.

Someone (at YAF) argued that Obama and the Democrats are always advocating “change,” or something “new” and “different.” They never admit to a heritage. In fact they have a heritage, one of failure. All the basic ideas have been tried! When you have an idea that has already failed, you position it as “new” rather than to admit your track record.

We've centralized power in the government since the Pharaoh. Kings, communist leaders, fascist dictatorships, are all variations upon a theme.

The really new, radical idea is freedom, to include free markets. The American state, conceived in liberty, is the new idea. Everything else is a throwback.

I’ve been thinking along EXACTLY the same lines as I read the article on the reformation. Although along with some other type of analogous reading materials. I’ve been reading about the Church, Luther/Reformation, monarch years from about 900 through the 1500’s. Quite the battles, political and otherwise, of Popes versus Kings, Papal Supremacy versus Royal Supremacy (compare it to today's Executive Supremacy).

By the way, I really am enjoying the series on the reformation you guys are running.

Not exactly. How does special rights for homos fit in? And Abortion rights for women?

"Then to make sure all the serfs do not have time to think about their loss of freedom,...?"

What loss of freedom, specifically, have you sustained in the last six months? Tell me.

You may feel that you have lost power, but I have to tell you, you never had any. (Did you taxes go down under BushCo? Suckers.)

You may feel that your "ideals" no longer prevail. Well, I can't help you there.

Good Lord have mercy! If you want to read history, you read Barbara Tuckman, NOT OneVike.

"The fact of being reported multiplies the apparent extent of any deplorable development by five- to tenfold. Disaster is rarely as pervasive as it seems from recorded accounts. The fact of being on the record makes it appear continuous and ubiquitous whereas it is more likely to have been sporadic both in time and place. Besides, persistence of the normal is usually greater than the effect of the disturbance, as we know from our own times. After absorbing the news of today, one expects to face a world consisting entirely of strikes, crimes, power failures, broken water mains, stalled trains, school shutdowns, muggers, drug addicts, neo-Nazis, and rapists. The fact is that one can come home in the evening, on a lucky day, without having encountered more than one or two of these phenomena." - Barbara Tuckman

So let's see...according to "Tuckman's Law" all the big worries about global warming or the healthcare "crisis" or any number of "emergencies" that we MUST address with more BIG government is probably exagerated by reporting...we call it hype...and are likely five or ten fold less disasterous than reported or imagined.

I'd say we'd be wise to ignore, or at least just allow these problems to persist...to exist in the natural order of things. In that free and open market they will be properly addressed by those that have an immediate or personal interest. They will see a fascinating challenge that will also bring development or income opportunity.

I like her on this basis alone.

I think that she's commenting on the fact that once upon a time, there was no CNN to relate in gruesome detail every instance of child molestation that occurred on the continent yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. It's a stressor we as a species not yet adjusted to, and may very well color our reactions ... if we let it.

I doubt that she means we should allow the purveyance of child porn to thrive in a free market ... or to let our 40 million uninsured languish and die ... or to unleash nasty pandemics on the southern hemisphere cause we're all too fat and lazy to walk to the store.

We gotta do what we can.

No one ever suggested such a thing...just keep making things up libs and you will NEVER get beyond griping about the rich, the lazy, the uncaring, people who go out every day and actually do something to make things better with taxes, invention, participation and donation to charity. You are such a liar and bigot.

Tina, I think Libby's comment was fair. You proposed that because most of us are not all that directly effected by the big political issues we hear of in the news, we as a society would do best to ignore them. Libby was pointing out the silliness of such an assertion by using extreme examples to show how selfish and dangerous that attitude is.

I'll say it again, as a political blogger you try to do your part every day to solve the big problems of the world. You can't then turn around and criticize people for doing the same thing just because they see different problems and different solutions than you do. You can criticize their positions on certain issues, but to criticize their actual drive to make the world a better place is sheer hypocrisy.
