Following on the heels of significant Republican election victories announced last night, the news keeps getting better, Carly Fiorina-R announced today she is running for the Senate seat occupied by Barbara Boxer.
Although her political experience and connections is limited (she was an economic adviser to the McCain campaign) and she made news for her outspoken support for his running mate Sarah Palin, Fiorina may still have what it takes to win.
Supporters say her business experience far offsets her lack of political history. Fiorina is best known as the CEO for Hewlett-Packard where she became an instant celebrity appearing on the covers of numerous magazines and on television news and talk shows. Fiorina was a former VP at ATT. Forbes magazine called her one of the 30 most powerful women in America.
In 2005, shortly after the Tech bubble burst and HP's stock dropped by almost 60%, Fiorina was forced out as HP's CEO in the most public and humiliating way, however she said, despite that she is still here, still strong and her life continues.
After HP Fiorina was appointed to serve on several boards of directors, including Revolution Health Group and computer security company Cybertrust. The following year, she became a member of the board of directors for chip maker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. She has most recently joined the board of trustees of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum.
Her first hurdle as a candidate is to win the Republican primary against Assemblyman Chuck DeVore from Orange County. DeVore is a termed out Assemblyman looking to climb the political ladder, but unlike Fiorina, he is not well financed and not very well known, despite his efforts to court republican votes for well over a year. I know Chuck from our email exchanges and although I believe he is a good person, I honestly don't think he is ready to take on someone as crafty as Boxer.
In contrast to DeVore Carly Fiorina has a real shot at taking the Senate seat away from a far left liberal. DeVore has a next to zero chance, it would just be an exercise in futility for him and it could potentially cause a needless division within the GOP ranks.
Now is the perfect time for DeVore to put his career aspirations on sideline or at least consider running for something he can actually have a chance at winning, like a State Senate seat. Influential Republicans are asking Assemblyman DeVore to back off and let Fiorina use her resources where it really counts, the defeat of Barbara Boxer.
Boxer is now 68 years old and she has been in the Senate since 1992. It's about time the voters of this state bounce Boxer just like she bounced checks as a US Senator. In a period of 3 years Boxer wrote 143 bad checks totally over $41,000.
If you or I had done this, you know where we would be and would not be in the US Senate! Boxer has cost California jobs by backing radical inviromentalists and restictive regulations. She is a strong supporter of abortion and higher taxes. She was the moonbat who recently made the news when she dressed down an Army Brigadier General for respectfully calling her "ma'am."
The discipline our military shows in taking orders from the vermin who run our civilian government is truly admirable!
Boxer has over $6 million bucks in her campaign warchest, money she has taken from special interest groups over the years to sell out Californians. She really, really needs to go! Remember our PS motto: "ANYBODY BUT BOXER!"

That is an old photo of Carly Fiorina you are using. In the one on her campaign website she looks much older and has a dyke hair cut. If the hair cut is a lifestyle statement I am not going to vote for her. You say "Carly Fiorina has a real shot at taking the Senate seat away from a far left liberal" and ""ANYBODY BUT BOXER!". Does that include Log Cabin republicans? Have we learned nothing from supporting Arnold? Will you ccept anyone o long as they have an R after there name?
Bob, to be more effective here why not state your issues with Fiorina and I hope its not over her hair style. Speaking of...so what's with the comments about the "dyke haircut" and "Log Cabin Republicans"? Clue: Those comments fall into the category of "biggoted slurs". Slurs turn off your potential supporters and make you look dumb. Next time take the high road and state your case in terms we can call fair and balanced.
Cute photos. Cheap shot ... and does not inspire a person to actually read the post. What could such a snotty poster have to say that I might want to hear?
