This just in from the government run Vietnam news agency...

Celebrated American film director and screenwriter Oliver Stone is in the central province of Quang Ngai to check out the site of the infamous My Lai Massacre by US troops for a film he plans to shoot next year.

Pinkville, his fourth film about Viet Nam, focuses on the investigation into the 1968 massacre in which 504 unarmed Vietnamese civilians were killed by American soldiers. My Lai, or Son My as it is commonly known, is a small village in Quang Ngai’s Son Tinh District.

The US$40 million film with screenplay by Mikko Alanne will star Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum. Willis will play Army General William R.Peers who investigates the massacre.

Just what America doesn't need.... I wish we could pull Stone's passport and leave him there!

Well, this is an interesting story, but what happened to the fun archery post you had up last night? Don't tell me the ER censored you for that!

Hi Dane,

Nah, no censorship. I decided to pull it because we have some rather somber and serious subjects surrounding it and I didn't want to distract from that. It was my bad timing, otherwise I would have left it up.

PS Did you like it?

Because Bruce Willis, and only because of that, I will hold my tongue and wait to see what the dude has decided to say about America now. It is curious...the timing...why now Mr. Stone?

Speaking of Timing, I just saw an advertisement for a new Richard Gere movie. The premise is that Gere is a reporter, who goes to an area and is able to locate a Bosnian War Criminal in four days. Gere's tag line? "Is it possible we found this guy in 4 days, when the CIA and FBI haven't been able to in years.” Even though the premise is about a Bosnian terrorist, the inference certainly seemed targeted toward bin laden.

I don't think you have to wait to see what this one is about. I didn't catch the title I won't catch the movie. Perhaps Mr. Gere, or the writer of the movie should leave the business and show our foreign intel how it's done.
