How Enron Worked the President
(This is an interesting bit of information that you don't hear much about.)
A.. Enron's chairman did meet with the president and the vice president in the Oval Office.
B.. Enron gave $420,000 to the president's party over three years.
C.. It donated $100,000 to the president's inauguration festivities.
D.. The Enron chairman stayed at the White House 11 times.
E.. The corporation had access to the administration at its highest level and even enlisted the Commerce and State Departments to grease deals for it.
F.. The taxpayer-supported export-import bank subsidized Enron for more than $600 million in just one transaction. Scandalous!
G.. BUT .. the president under whom all this happened WASN'T George W. Bush.
SURPRISE!
It was Bill Clinton!
Pass this on so the whole country will know.
The media won't take it public!
ARE WE READY FOR MRS. CLINTON? Not ME !!!!

Nope...if true, this would not qualify as "news worthy."
It is interesting to note that because of the slanted news about Enron and Bush, Cheney, and BIG OIL, the mind goes directly to GWB...it's called indoctrination, spin, or bias.
But, of course, it doesn't ever happen.

I have to admit, that just like one of Pavlov's dogs, I had apparently been conditioned and my conditioned response was that this story was regarding Bush. And if it was, it should be out there.
But then I also realize, that if it had been Bush and not Clinton, I would still be able to find out about it here. Because unlike the media, I can count on you two to take the side of right against wrong, not merely right against left and for that, I thank you.

This is high praise so thank you. I have to give Jack most of the credit here...he's a true officer of the law in this regard.

I agree. The insideous way that information is cherry picked and passed on as the news does create, even in the most astute observer, the natural tendency toward blame.
Dread comes up for me when it's on of my guys because I actually hold them to certain standards. Knowing how the news is spun, though, I become suspicious and that is healthy. We all need to learn to investigate on our own. That way we can discover all of the information available about a story...and discredit the slop and lies.
Our intention is to discover and reveal truths.
