It Was in the Wheels of Airplane!

Huge rattlesnake found while doing preflight of US Coast Guard Plane shown in background. This why you always send your co-pilot out to do pre-flights!

That is one large snake! Why didnt they just kill it? I mean it seems kind of crazy to grab it like that unless you really know what your doing.

I may be mistaken but I think rattlers have to be coiled to strike and otherwise you just have to stay away from the mouth...natch.
Killing it would put this guy in real danger...he would take the enourmous risk being accused of an animal rights violation...the tedious sentence being continuous harrassment by crazed AR zealots. The snake is a much friendlier creature by comparison and will avoid humans whenever possible!
