More on the Knockout Game

by Jack

Two opposing stories appeared on the same page and I thought it was too ironic not bring to your attention.   The stories have one person poo-pooing the knockout game and the other, a victim, who was punched for no apparent reason and took a picture of her attacker.

The first story starts out as debunking the Knockout Game as overblown hype:   ”According to the news of the last few weeks, it’s a brand new game, spreading all over the country, in which young, African-American teenagers — sometimes alone, sometimes in groups — come up to innocent, unsuspecting people and try to knock them out with one punch.

This has been happening all over the place — including dozens of times right here in Philly — and no one in safe. But Barack Obama won’t condemn it. Neither will Al Sharpton.

Right?

In fact, the prevailing media narrative of the Knockout Game is starting to look completely wrong.

(The media is saying) ….that it’s new, that it’s a widespread phenomenon, that it’s a major thing that’s happening everywhere, and that it is always black-on-white — are overhyped if not completely false.

Hmmm…okay, so the news media is hyping this story, but  then on the same page comes this story about a  young woman (white)-who works for one of Philadelphia’s largest corporations-was outside the Convention Center in Philadelphia taking photos when a man allegedly punched her in the face…   attacker-photo-1

“I was taking a photo when he punched me in the jaw,” she told me on Tuesday night. “I turned around and he turned around at the same time, and I took a series of photos. He was in a few photos I had taken a few minutes prior to the assault as well.”

UPDATE 11/20 4 p.m.: A second woman has come forward alleging that the same man in this photo attacked her at the Erie station on the Broad Street Subway last Friday at approximately 1 p.m.   The 25-year-old Temple Medical School student (white), who asks that we not use her name, says that he punched her in the face but did not take anything from her. He also allegedly jumped on her back.  (See picture of attacker on right.)

Colt-Younger   2nd UPDATE Dec 5th, 2013:   Colt Younger, 26, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of recklessly endangering another person and harassment. That’s his mugshot on the right. His capture occurred in no small part because of the photo that the victim managed to capture. Younger, who resides in Germantown, is locked up in lieu of $25,000 bail.

There was a lot of debate over whether these incidents were examples of the so-called knockout game in Philadelphia. Knockout game or no knockout game, we’re just happy to learn that the police have someone in custody.

“It makes me feel a bit like it’s more of a single crazy person and not like North Philadelphia is just a difficult place to be,” says the woman who was attacked at Broad and Erie. “Though obviously if it really is the knockout game, it’s something bigger and arresting this one person isn’t going to solve the problem.”

You know, it’s possible to smell fear … and this reeks.

    WORDS WITH FIENDS
    December 11, 2013

Whenever liberals are in a tight spot, they adopt the scorched-earth policy of argumentation. With no answer, they start demanding that you define words: What do you mean “liberal”? What do you mean “democracy”? What do you mean “patriotism”?

They retreat from argument, burning the English language as they go.

Accustomed to playing the role of Soviet commissar censoring the news when it comes to black violence, the Non-Fox Media are in a panic now that the alternative media can post videos of young black males punching out random strangers.

As a result, liberals are denying the “Knockout Game” exists by refusing to understand the meaning of basic words, such as “game” and “trend.”

Knockout Game-debunkers place great significance, for example, on the fact that the assailants have not signed affidavits calling it a “game.”

LIBERALS TALK RACE AND CRIME – AND HILARITY ENSUES!
    December 4, 2013

On a break from pretending to believe they live in a country bristling with violent white racists, the Non-Fox Media have been trying to debunk stories about the “Knockout Game,” in which young black males approach random strangers and try to knock them out with one punch.

The left’s leading line of defense against the Knockout Game is to argue that young black males have always been violent, so, hey, this is nothing new.

    You’re welcome, black America!

In Slate, Emma Roller wearily recounted other episodes of black-on-white violence in order to announce: “The ‘Knockout Game’ is a myth.”

What does the fear (you imagine) represent, Libby? Personal encounter? Backlash? Backlash developing into civil war?

Whether the knockout game is real for Libby or not doesn’t change the harm done for those that have been injured or killed.

As Ms Coulter suggests the left has created a kind of prison for itself. Criticism of a black person is just not allowed no matter what they do.

Black men and women in America can never be considered equals if they cannot be criticized or held accountable for bad behavior like any other citizen.

I’m pretty sure our leftist friends will never be free of personal bigotry as long as they are bound up in that prison.

Why haven’t the people like Obama,Holder, Sharpton and Jackson been heard from? Well possibly it doesn’t suit their agendas of future dividing the country, and quietly by using a race card.

However recently the illustrious Rev. Jackson makes up a reverse scenario on Phil Robertsons comments and demands an all inclusive sit down with A&E and GLAAD,for what purpose?(it’s not to promote fair and accurate representation of gay people in the media I’ll wager) but yet has made any social beneficial comment to those younger participants of his own race to stop this wasted use of their time and misdirected anger called Knockout.

Let’s compare the Black youth Colt Younger, 26, who was arrested and charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of recklessly endangering another person and harassment. Now look at the latest knockout crime, but this time its a white youth hitting a 79 year old black man, and because there is video evidence (what are the U-tube videos considered?) this is being prosecuted as a hate crime in Texas (they get it) So, What difference does it make now (to borrow a top Liberals comments) between this Texas crime and in New York a 28-year-old Trinidadian man was charged with two felony hate crimes for allegedly striking a 24-year-old Jewish man wearing a yarmulke. The Justice Department however did not get involved in the case. Why?

What is going on in this country when crimes like this against unsuspecting people are being ignored or avoided because of their underlying hated? Where is Eric Holder and our top judicial people, hell I would even invite a “executive order” at this time on stopping this, because it will lead to a unnecessary death of a innocent person , and thats a shame on everyone in Government, especially Holder, and his boss Obama along with the likes of Sharpton and Jackson and any prosecutor that this outrage takes place in their district and they fail to address this for what it is.

  5. Chris says:

Jack, your article claimed that Al Sharpton had not condemned the knockout game as of Dec. 26. However, Al Sharpton did condemn the knockout game over a month earlier:

    http://nypost.com/2013/11/23/al-sharpton-condemns-knockout-attacks/

Harold made the same claim. Where did you guys get this idea from? And why didn’t you bother to Google “Al Sharpton Knockout Game” to see whether or not what you were saying was true?

    • Post Scripts says:

Dang Chris, I didn’t make any such claim! What you read was the story from the newspaper which was about a month old. I wrote, “Two opposing stories appeared on the same page…” And one of the stories was saying something about Al Sharpton not condemning the knockout game, not me! My article was about the irony of two opposing stories…thats all.

  6. Harold says:

Yep I missed that article in the NYTimes about Sharpton, and you misrepresented the fact Jack never said anything about him not getting involved as well.
So even though that I missed an article, which “had little or any significant importance as presented by Sharpton, at least he hasn’t called for riots as he did when Sharpton led chants of “No justice, no peace” as rioters raged through Brooklyn following the death of a boy of seven and black, who was struck and killed by a Jewish driver’s car. A day later, Yankel Rosenbaum was stabbed to death by a black mob. Maybe Sharpton has evolved some; you could not prove it by anything I have seen him involved with of late.

Now let’s get back about the point I was making, the issue is that no one in Obama’s administration is addressing these as hate crimes, that was until a white youth attacked an older black man, then Eric Holders office starts to address this as hate based crime. Clearly a point that has not been lost on writers who report what is really happening,
We have a writer that did an extensive Internet search and failed to turn up one single other incident that the U.S. Department of Justice pursued the knock out game as hate crime charges against knock out crimes until a white man did it to a black man, The charge marks the first time the administration has taken action on a “knockout” case after the game became an Internet and media phenomenon. It chose a case in which the person accused is white, even though most other cases reported in the news have involved black assailants “The ‘game’ has spawned a fierce debate since many of the reported victims have been white and their assailants have been black, but hate crimes charges have been all but non-existent,” WHY?
But that is typical of the Liberal mindset, attack what you can to further your political posture, but not so much for any other reason,

  7. Libby says:

I should have said: irrational fear.

  8. Pie Guevara says:

There must be huge piles of sand where Blame-The-Victim Libby lives.

  9. Tina says:

    Irrational fear?

It’s still just your opinion and it could be an irrational opinion. Sure looks like it from here.

  10. Tina says:

Pie the subtle humor has not gone unnoticed 🙂
