Kashkari to Debate Brown on September 4th 7:00 PM

Neel Kashkari, the Republican candidate for governor will debate Governor Brown on September 4th according to a report in the LA Times. Kashkari’s bid for governor is a long shot but he brings energy to the contest and ideas that could free California from the death grip imposed by decades of liberal progressive policies and high taxes. He also has ideas to give life to our educational system that currently serves the teachers union better than the needs of students, parents or teachers.

The election is mere weeks away…you’d think it was years away for all we’ve heard about it. Brown is confident that Californians are happy with the status quo. Are we?

California ranks dead last in the nation in terms of poverty

California kids rank 47th in Science and has ranked low in overall education for some time now. The Washingtom Examiner points to Governor Brown as part of the Problem:

According to RAND Corp., as late as the 1970s California’s public schools still had an “excellent” reputation. Then, in 1975, Brown (in his first stint as California’s governor) signed the Rodda Act, giving government unions the power to take money directly out of government employees’ paychecks.

The California Teachers Association quickly poured this new revenue stream into an organizing drive, more than doubling the union’s ranks. The Golden State’s politics have never been the same since — nor has the quality of its public schools. Between 2000 and 2010, the CTA spent more than $211 million to influence California voters and elected officials. That is more money than the oil, tobacco and hospital industries combined.

The CTA’s first big political victory came in 1988, when it helped pass Proposition 98, which amended the California Constitution to mandate that at least 39 percent of the state budget be spent on K-12 education spending. Since then, California teacher salaries have skyrocketed and are now among the highest in the nation (only Massachusetts and New York pay more).

At an average salary of $69,434 per year, a family of two teachers would bring in almost $140,000 in income per year. That is almost triple the state’s $57,000 median family income — and teachers get summers off.

But all of that money for teachers salaries hasn’t helped students in the classroom. By 1992, the first year for which state-by-state comparisons are available, California ranked second to last among states tested (ahead of only Mississippi), in reading proficiency among fourth-graders.

Since then, California per pupil education spending has continued to rise, and student test scores have not. In 2011, the most recent year available, California eighth-graders finished 48th in reading, ahead of just Louisiana and Mississippi, and 48th in math, ahead of just Alabama and Mississippi. Perhaps California should change its state motto to “Thank God for Mississippi.”…

…According to a 2010 report from the Public Policy Institute of California, for the first time ever, young adults in California are less likely to graduate from college than their parents.

By 2025, a projected 41 percent of all jobs in California will require a college degree, but only 35 percent of California adults will have one — an expected gap of 1 million graduates. What this projection really suggests is that the jobs won’t be created at all — they will instead go to other states that are producing college graduates at a fraction of California’s cost.

Big money in politics? It isn’t just corporations buying government favors.

California is losing business to other states, it’s economy is sluggish, only the tech elites are doing well, our education system is failing our students, we are suffering under a severe drought and our government has wasted money chasing green energy schemes rather than solid water storage systems. Just last weekend a 6.0 earthquake rocked the wine country dealing our economy another severe blow. If ever there was a need for change in leadership it is NOW. Tell your friend, relatives and neighbors…we need relief from radical left policies that kill the middle class and fail to deliver needed jobs and good education…tell them to vote for Neel Kashkari!

Congratulations to Neil for getting old Brownie to debate.

But I’m afraid Mr. Cashncarry’s chances of winning are unfortunately zero.

I’m afraid that even what Edwin Edwards said doesn’t apply to Brown: “The only way I can lose this
election is if I’m caught in bed with either a dead girl or a live boy.” Brown would still win.

  2. Bob says:

I sure hope CashNCarry beats old Brownie over the head with this:

Dems stop bills to ease gas price hike

Perhaps the last chance to head off a California gasoline price hike that could exceed 50 cents per gallon by 2020 just was defeated on the state Senate floor.

  3. Dewey says:

    1) Republicans vote to defund education all the time. That is on the Tea party Agenda. No Public Schools only tax dollars to for profit corps where profit is more important than education.

    http://www.laweekly.com/1998-08-20/news/charter-school-for-scandal-page-1/

Just google until we stop charter school fraud education will remain an issue. Also My tax dollars going to a for profit charter who uses most of the money for their salary’s and waste not teachers will be my issue.

I am sorry but repeating what those who are ripping us off as fact is loosing.

The red states have the highest level of poverty in general. Look at Tea party haven kansas….. Broke, Look at Michigan, Sorry your policies failed.

Not a huge brown fan and mad at him right now for cell phone bill but I will show up at polls and I will be forced to vote Brown…

tea party States are going bankrupt as planned to sell off taxpayer assets to the oligarchy where citizens never have a say on their land or utilities again.

Do not forget when the bay brisge fails Arnold gave the contract to the Chinese and it ended up costing us more. I care about my state not any selling off to the 1%.

We need to dump both parties as you can not run for office unless you pledge to harm citizens for the 1% profit

repeal Citizens United or say goodbye to America or is it now ‘merika

Epic Fail on the issues, not worth the time to go through…

I think I’ll write a bill called save America where all the money is diverted to me…

  4. Dewey says:

Guys we have no candidate again

But that guy is a real wall street d*#@#!

“He claims to be a new California Republican, but he’s a super-rich Goldman Sachs guy who just last week said that bailing out Wall Street banks was the greatest economic policy in history,” said Dan Newman, a political spokesman for Brown. “That sounds like Carly Fiorina meets Meg Whitman.”

    Pasted from

When you keep electing bangers and wall street guys you are asking for America to be traded like a commodity for profit.

  5. Tina says:

He worked for Goldman Sachs…big deal, it was a job.

Goldman Sachs was Obama’s second largest contributor in 2008 second only to the University of California! (So much for Wall Street being the “fat cats”)

And speaking of the “fat cats” Barrack will be partying with them this weekend to fund raise for Democrats:

Investment banker Robert Wolf of Purchase, one of President Obama’s biggest financial backers on Wall Street, is hosting one of the two fundraisers in Westchester that Obama will attend Friday.Barack Obama
Wolf, the founder of 32 Advisors LLC and a former Chief Executive Officer of UBS America, and his wife Carol Wolf, are scheduled to host a Democratic National Committee Labor Day Barbeque. About 250 people who will pay up to $32,400 each to attend, according to a DNC spokesman.
The BBQ is part of a larger Labor Day weekend series of “BBQ with Barack” events that included a raffle for small donors who will be allowed to attend.
The second fundraiser is scheduled to be a small roundtable style event with about 25 people in New Rochelle who will be donating up to $32,400 each to the DNC.

“When you keep electing bangers and wall street guys you are asking for America to be traded like a commodity for profit.”

Because unlike other Americans with differing opinions all bankers are just clones and none is in favor of the individual and freedom?

Kashkari helped create the TARP bailout following the credit crash. That money HAS BEEN PAID BACK with interest. It was written using market principles so that the taxpayer would not lose:

    …the government has realized a $41.3B profit as of Aug. 12, 2014.

Unfortunately the economic policies of BHO and the radical Democrats have not caused an economic recovery much less a boon. Instead we are languishing in growing poverty while the “fat cats” and BHO play golf and party.

Dewey, You are one confused dude.

  6. Dewey says:

    Confused? Think again…

Why do you hide from truth why not gloat?

Do not pretend you have no knowledge of the Caucus room meeting to block every bill for Obama. Tea party is a Coup and goes back in history. Arguably the assassination of JFK was the big turn of events.

Nixon? Prescott Bush Protege? Rove and boyz all were working on his campaign? Confused are those who ignore facts, history and truth

It is seditious to me for members of Congress to block every bill even when they agree to get a President

It is seditious to me when a single party tells the majority that everything has to be their way or the Highway

Bordering on Treason now as US Companies change citizenship to avoid taxes.

In the 1950’s Corporate taxes provided about 30% of revenue now they contribute abt 9% and we need to pay for their wars?

Furthermore collecting a social security check and vets benefits while supporting a platform to abolish them is just plain evil.

Tina we are ruled by an Oligarchy. Party matters none. When a candidate can not run without pledging to write laws for bankers and foreign corporations the people do not matter.

So why not declare your position?

Congress does not work for the people. Our voices whether considered the right or left do not matter.

The agenda is to get rid of all social services and public assets.

Furthermore the new Business model is to preform an inversion and get rid of corporate citizenship to this country yet use our infrastructure.

Fascism is when Corporations run the gov and the military. They pay no taxes the humans do and support their corporate army for profit.

    Why not claim your position?

The majority of Americans agree we need to overturn Citizens United and take our gov back as a gov for the humans by the humans

So I am far from confused as I do not follow Koch brainwash

Banks fund both sides of a war…….. Congress profits from hedging against America and Inversions….

Anybody who has a fact or argument against your beliefs is the enemy to you? Well so be it.

    Americans are better than this!

The republican and democrat parties are DEAD! Most Americans want nothing to do with them. So you can have the republican Party we have left it!
