Why We Have Post Scripts – A Statement of Intent & A Request for Your Opinion

by Jack

Can you believe Post Scripts has been in business for over 8 years and we’ve posted over 10,000 news and information articles? Wow, how times flies, huh?

Unlike the mission creep we see in Washington, our mission has not changed from day one. We resolved to be a podium for free speech and that’s what you have, with few exceptions. We recognized what a valuable commodity free speech is so we do this for you! In return, we only ask that commenters use this podium wisely and within the guidelines established by the Enterprise – Record, you can’t libel, you break the law (threats), nor can you use profanity or deliberately deceive.

  • Here’s a good tip: This site works best when you’re respectful and informative. More people will read what you have to say if you do.Next, don’t state an opinion as a fact, because they are two different things.

Lastly, try to say something helpful or informative. Education is another key reasons we exist.

Our time and your time should be too valuable to waste with jabs and digs, so please make your comments relevant and educational.

Over the years we’ve made no secret about our political bias…we’re conservatives! But, if we think its a good idea it doesn’t matter which side it comes from, left or right, we can get behind it. By the same token, we’re also equal opportunity offenders…if its a bad idea, well you get the drift. We call em like we see em and we love it when you do the same! (Just be nice about it)

Every now and then we like to step back and see how we’re doing. So, what’s your opinion? Are we contributing the kind of articles you want to read? What could we do to improve things here, besides taking a short step off a tall cliff?

“Next, don’t state an opinion as a fact, because they are two different things, okay? You should respectful to each other or at least make a good faith effort! ”

Glad to see this… Would like to add just cause any News Outlet says “Some people would Say” Does not make it a fact.

When a blog says something it does not make it true.

I find that mistake here all the time. Facts can be retrieved easily by going to the source used by blogger. Then go to the actual report not their interpretation. I see their opinion used here all the time but the facts are wrong.

At this point all media is pretty bad. Even the so called Liberal Stations have idiots on them spewing talking points with a couple of exceptions.

Police cases not tried in courts, tried in the media which BTW is the only info released.

Campaign ads nasty beyond belief with outright lies.

Citizens United has sold our democracy and Politicians come cheap.

You see a difference of opinion is OK. Debate is OK.
    That is Democracy.

But calling people names because they do not hold your beliefs or a liar because the facts presented are real and not OK by some blogger or lying Politician is not OK.

Also sorry but many think tanks put out reports that are not true. Even the original Climate scientist the Koch’s paid for to work backwards from their answer folded and reversed.

I find bouncing from 1 lie to the other boring.
Billionaires create the myths for their advantage.

The actual reports are available and I try to use those which do not support many Blogs and Think tanks bull.

Look so maybe acknowledge the actual facts and disagree with those. Not call me a liar cause some Koch think tank says otherwise…. They are debunked all the time. They are not always correct.

Turn off the TV and find truth by doing the actual research.

This is the 21st century and they sold off our brands, our jobs, our technology and now want us to follow them into competing with Chinese labor…. I say start over let them go! I do not want their products I will make my own.

We have lost our country how about a real conversation and less party crap? If anyone is in a Party 100% they are ill informed or against democracy.

Time to realize this is the 21st century and nothing will ever be the same. Discussing real facts to come to new solutions not some agenda from the 20th century which applies no more.

We are controlled by wall Street everything was gobbled up. If you have a pension from the 20th century consider yourself lucky the rest have 401K’s which crash several times before retirement.

Ready to use facts? Can not wait to see!

This is why norcalblogs pays you the big bucks. Yer stars, stars I tells you.

  3. Libby says:

Next, don’t state an opinion as a fact, because they are two different things, okay?

Snort, chortle, and gag. You want to explain your subsequent AG post, in light of this … in the circumstances … astounding admonition.

  4. Post Scripts says:

Libby, are you referring to me, Jack? Because I didn’t write the AG article you referenced. You need to address your comment to Tina in her article.

  5. Harold says:

Here’s to your next 8 years, looking forward to the point counter point in critiquing articles, at least those without the rude and immature name calling of some hiding behind their keyboard.

Those I don’t read, You can easily gloss their post, see the words where they loose it, stop and move on. Even should their point contains informative researched content, it gets lost because of their presentation.

  6. Dewey says:

Also Jack it is cool you have done this for 8 yrs happy Anniversary

    • Post Scripts says:

Thank you Dewey…it’s not been an easy job, but Tina and I feel it’s important. And if I may add; We know we are politically biased people and we lean strongly to the right. But, we try to respect all opinions and given them their space here. Free speech is the most important freedom we have left. Tina and I are right-wingers, but we’re not party hacks. We have our own thoughts and there are few people in this world that can frustrate us anymore than a Republican who has violated the values of our founder fathers.

  7. Tina says:

Libby the article took the information from records provided by the Justice Department. Included in the documents is a list of recipients of the cash:

According to the list provided by Justice, those groups include come of the most radical bank shakedown organizations in the country, including:

    • La Raza, which pressures banks to expand their credit box to qualify more low-income Latino immigrants for home loans;

    • National Community Reinvestment Coalition, Washington’s most aggressive lobbyist for the disastrous Community Reinvestment Act;

    • Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, whose director calls himself a “bank terrorist;”

    • Operation Hope, a South Central Los Angeles group that’s pressuring banks to make “dignity mortgages” for deadbeats.

Worse, one group eligible for BofA slush funds is a spin-off of Acorn Housing’s branch in New York.

It’s now rebranded as Mutual Housing Association of New York, or MHANY. HUD lists MHANY’s contact as Ismene Speliotis, who previously served as New York director of Acorn Housing.

ALSO I would like to say to our readers that items in the news are not presented here as hard facts but simply as items for discussion. Everyone is welcome to post information that disproves or discredits the information presented and/or their opinions about it. Post Scripts is a free speech blog. Neither Jack nor I censor or delete comments as long as comments adhere to the standards set forth by the ER. We have on rare occasion refused to post a comment due to very bad language, inflammatory threats, or harassment.

Nobody has a lock on the truth…can we please all relax a bit and try to remember that?
