Food for thought…2014 and beyond. Could this be..? Is this possible..?

By Bud Biddle

You ever wonder if Barack Obama is simply being a little cagey with all of his foot dragging about
I S I L, his ongoing, bumbling insistence to arm Syrian Rebels and his desire to overthrow Assad…?  How about that he’s trying to get many of the most dangerous Jihadist’s ALL into one geographical region, arm some of them, train a few more and let them all fight it out as our surrogates.? Kill each other right down to almost the last religious crazy..? That all the allied air strikes will do is assist us in ridding ourselves of the most radical first, the rest later on…as time passes, 2 – 3 years we hear.?

I’ve been thinking about this…..funny how my mind wanders here….!

Especially since ALL the Middle East countries have all hated/distrusted one another for 100’s…no, 1000’s of years.? Obama may have a single-minded strategy he’s keeping to himself. It would account for the political lunacy and his lack of any really strong, strategic policy.? Yet, Obama may be smarter than we all think.? “Let’em all kill each other as are their past practices“, just like any lawyer [-Obama’s a lawyer-] might think or say..?

The Jihadist’s all watch us recoil at 3 beheadings. They watch us recoil at 9-11 and hide under our beds for 2 years until we invaded Iraq, which failed miserably by all accounts. They watch Obama fail in Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Ukraine, Russia, Syria, Iran…and they’re emboldened so  I S I L  is on.

We can never destroy I S I L…but given the right situation we might be able to see that they destroy themselves and many more radicals who might just show up.?  The only risk is that they ALL unite someday. We can confront that later but it is very unlikely.

Perhaps Obama is taking a tip from President Ronald Reagan’s playbook…”Fight fire with fire”….aka: Contra vs Sandinista…but in a different way this time ~ ?

Is it, “let’em kill each other off, supply the weapons to placate the huge, industrial war machine we have to satisfy annually, lose no more Americans and…win-win.?” That would assure the currently failing Obama Legacy of being secure as he leaves Office. And it will take 2 – 3 years like he’s said, over and over.

The Jihadist’s nuts are flooding into Syria from all over the world mostly due to high tech recruiting/propaganda efforts within Social Media. It might take a modern strategy, real and ongoing, right under ALL our/their noses, to conduct a modern war differently this time.? It might not work but nothing else has ever worked.? Go Barack…if I’m right and it does work…if he’s actually doing this ~ ? Ya think..?

Naw, Obama isn’t that smart…sorry I said anything..?

Umm, yet it’s kill or be killed over there now…> ? <

Could it be..> ? < Is O’Reilly wrong….has he missed the mark [-below-]…man, I hope so..> ? <

Jusss sayin ~ !

I wish Obama was that smart, but based on his record of failures, scandals and cover-ups his IQ falls far short.

Here’s something to give you a laugh.

Colbert On “Boots On The Ground.” HILARIOUS:

  2. Dewey says:

    Thanks for the laugh

Shall we talk about Reagan? Contra? and truth?

Reagan was not all there. he was the worst President in my book.

  3. Tina says:

    Must be a short book.

  4. Chris says:

    Surprisingly fair post.

Islamic terrorists operate under an impossibly rigid structure. They have no chance of “winning,” and they mostly sabotage themselves. Christopher Hitchens had a great article about this a few years ago:

Peggy, I saw that too and thought it was hilarious. Glad to see good comedy uniting us. šŸ™‚

    Powerline asks, “Barack Obama, Neocon?”

Another article at Powerline, “The Barbarians Within Our Gates ~ Arab civilization has collapsed. It wonā€™t recover in my lifetime, ” by Hisham Melhem is well worth reading.

  6. Peggy says:

Chris, commonality is the key for getting along. Finding issues we agree on is how we unite and live in harmony and respect.

I know you’re not a Glenn Beck fan, but he’s been doing this for years. His friends include Penn Jillett an atheist, and Rabbi Irwin Kula amongst many others including democrats.

“ā€œI remember sitting down, thinking to myself, I donā€™t think this rabbi is going to listen to me at all. But he did,ā€ Glenn said. ā€œHe was kind, and I listened to him too. And we have become friendsā€¦ I think our friendship, again, is proof that we donā€™t have to agree on everything. We just have to agree on the principle of love and respect and decency.ā€

While Kula admitted that he initially believed he disagreed with Glenn on just about everything that hasnā€™t been the case lately.”

Instead of looking for things we disagree on to tear each other apart it would be wonderful to look for things we agree on and work together from that starting point.

If you don’t believe me about Beck just watch the and let me know what you think. I know it looks like a joke that begins, “A Atheist, a Rabbi and a Mormon met at a bar,” but it’s for real.

As a teacher I think you’ll find this discussion on Common Core very interesting.

  7. Peggy says:

Here is a better example of people with differing views coming together to solve common problem.

‘Badass’ Florida teachers come out against Common Core:

“TALLAHASSEE ā€” Conventional wisdom held that liberals and teachers supported the new Common Core curriculum standards.

Until the Badass Teachers Association crashed the party.

The 25,000 BATs, as they call themselves, are pushing back against the national standards with Twitter strikes, town hall meetings and snarky Internet memes. They have no qualms with the theory behind the new benchmarks, but they fear the larger movement places too much emphasis on testing and will stifle creativity in the classroom.

“It’s not just the tea party that’s skeptical of the Common Core,” said Bonnie Cunard, a Fort Myers teacher who manages the Facebook page for the 1,200 Florida BATs. “We on the left, like the folks on the right, are saying we want local control.”

The BATs represent a new wave of liberal opposition to the Common Core standards, which includes some union leaders, progressive activists and Democratic lawmakers. They are joining forces with tea party groups and libertarians, who want states like Florida to slow down efforts to adopt the new benchmarks and corresponding tests.”

  8. Chris says:

Peggy, that’s interesting, but I have a hard time finding critics of the Common Core on the left or right actually detailing which standards they are opposed to. I personally see the Common Core as an improvement on our previous state standards. They are more accessible and stress critical thinking. They do not mandate or otherwise interfere with curriculum or content, they are simply expectations for what students should be able to do at the end of the school year. I don’t refer to the standards often, because when I do read them, I don’t see anything that I’m not already doing.

What specific standards does this group oppose?

  9. Peggy says:

Chris, there’s issues with content and the new math, but the primary concern I’m hearing is the data collection and the tracking of kids through the testing data results. Teachers are complaining they are teaching to the test instead of being able to develop lesson plans for individual students.

I also understand CC was not passed by state’s legislators or had the approval of state’s dept. of Ed. It was brought through a “back door” process to school districts in desperate need of funds directly from the feds. Why? Why did it feel it had to circumvent the normal process.

The parents I’ve seen are really upset about the data collection. They don’t want their kids tracked, but are not allowed to exempt their kids out.

So, it’s not just the curriculum that has brought both democrat and republican parents, educators, and other concerned individuals together on common core it appears to be the other issues that are of equal or upmost importance.

Just saying I don’t think a kids test scores in 3rd and 4th grades should determine his/her path to higher education or not or their ultimate career placement. Tracking existed when I and my sons were in school. I understood it was done away with, but is being brought back again through CC.
