CA Common Core Pricetag: Estimated $1 Billion Per Year!

Posted by Tina

School districts across California are wondering where the money will come from to satisfy the new Common Core testing requirements:

A rather expensive development has surfaced on the way to installing Common Core in California’s hundreds of school districts statewide. Officials have figured out that the big government initiative could collectively cost districts $1 billion every year to set up a new statewide testing system supporting the new curriculum.

Isn’t it just like government to begin implementation of a plan before the cost is considered? It would be one thing if our government had the money for this “improvement” due to superb management of tax revenues and policies that support a vibrant private sector economy. But government does neither of these. Progressive government is especially fond of new expensive untested programs. The ultimate waste this program will generate is potentially staggering as is the possible added debt. Our schools have experienced cuts to programs so why was this change necessary?

Our President seems to get quite a bit done with a pen and a phone. A standard #2 pencil should be equally sufficient, at least until the wizards of smart that shoved this down out throats figure out where the money comes from to fund this stuff.

Clowngress and this administration are really good at handing out requirements without sending along any $$ to pay for them.
Hello, States??? Unless new requirement$ are actually funded along with the mandates, perhaps it’s time to say NO!

    Off topic, kind-of.

Love the Drudge poll results and that it’s based on over 300,000 surveyed.
