  1. J. Soden says:

A rousing THANK YOU! to past, present and future Veterans can never be said enough!

  2. Tina says:

A simple thank you is never enough to express the deeply felt gratitude that comes in realizing others put their lives on the line and sacrifice time with their families and friends for us.

I suggest donating to your favorite veteran charities and pushing our congress for vouchers so our veterans can get the care they need locally with doctors and clinic they choose.

  3. Dewey says:

Thank you’s are nice but are just that.

Why not look at who blocks veterans bills in Congress and blow up their phones?

Why not demand solutions for the rising homeless veterans population.

    Talk is cheap.

    Act!

  4. Harold says:

Yes I agree that talk is cheap, but that’s all we get out of a politician , and it is very evident in the DC. We all deserve better, especially those who fought to preserve a once great country.

While Politicians make it sound like their working for the common good, it really is more about power and the manipulation of funding to make it happen.

So the help veterans needed was not passed because of politics once more.

Both Parties start out with nothing more than a campaign promise likenen to” let’s do something good for a change”, but then you have one group of them wanting to help but not bleed other programs to the point of failure , so they include WORDS to prevent money from one program to be earmarked for funding another. The other side is stating they want to help as well, but only if they can raid other programs and make them less effective by bleeding off funds already marked for their use, which in effect makes that programs goals less than obtainable.

It is time both sides have the understanding it is just important to pass a clean bill for once and leave politics out of it.

Yep if you’re going to make those phone calls, be sure that Obama, Reid and McConnell is on those speed dialers. Because its politics here at home that send our soldiers to fight and die in any foreign theater, and make them fight and die after they return home as well.

This is copy and paste: The Senate was able to advance a spending bill that pays for military construction and veterans programs but was blocked by the Senate minority from moving forward on a defense spending bill. U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., said he was glad the Senate could make some progress on spending bills but found it irresponsible that the Senate minority would block a bill to help fund the troops.

“Two of Congress’ most important responsibilities are to strengthen the country’s national security and to fund the government responsibly through 12 separate spending bills,” Enzi said. “While I appreciate that we were finally able to make some progress on the veterans spending bill, it is unreasonable that the Senate minority would block the defense funding bill, especially since it passed out of committee with overwhelming bipartisan support.

“The Senate minority would prefer that we just pass a giant all-in-one spending bill instead of doing our job responsibly. Congress should be thoughtfully and carefully considering every line of each spending bill – it’s the kind of diligence we owe the taxpayers who fund this government. These comprehensive bills are the reason we have a country deep in debt and a Congress with dismal approval ratings. It is time the Senate minority work with us to fund the government sensibly instead of relying on a bloated catch-all government funding bill created at the last minute through backroom deals.”

If you think this country’s leadership is working than you must be one of the 537 in DC, because those of us living here do not have it as good.

  5. Pie Guevara says:

The saddest thing about Veteran’s Day is that so very many people gave their lives and souls and bodies so that ungrateful, politically motivated, ideologically bankrupt cretins like Dewey and Chris would have a voice.
