  1. Dewey says:

Why have there been 355 mass murders this year in USA? More than days passed?

To protect our gun rights we have to have a sensible conversation. Why did congress vote against banning the sale of arms to people on the terrorist list? Those who are accidentally on it can go to a judge and be removed. Those who are terrorists will not be able to prove they are on it accidentally as the reports on them will be available.

All but 1 republican voted against it in Senate ad the NRA bought out Dems are just as deplorable.

If you say it is legal for a known terrorist to buy assault weapons than stop the fear of an attack. It is eminent and they can buy their weapons here legally.

I believe in the right to own arms, I do not however think terrorists and the mentally ill should ave that right. Sensible legislation covering extreme risk is needed.

As far as extreme right terrorism it is a daily threat own it. If Dylan Roof was black and killed white people in their church would it have been written up here?

Wow, I was just about to respond to the hapless Dewey that if we would addressed the real problem in cities like Chicago our murder rate wouldn’t be as high.

Bill Whittle expanded that thought to the max and shows all Americans they need not be bullied by the gun grabbing, completely wrong, left!

American gun owners ARE freedoms safest place. They also make cities and towns a safer place.

      NPR counters Dewey’s claim:

The FBI found 160 “active shooter incidents” from 2000 through 2013, an average of a little more than 11 per year.

The Congressional Research Service counted 296 episodes of “mass murder with firearms” during the same period, an average of 21 per year.

And to add one more wrinkle, in the aftermath of the 2012 killings at the Sandy Hook Elementary School (26 dead), Congress lowered the threshold for a mass shooting from four deaths to three.

Besides is it fair to count the murders in places like Chicago when our government (and the left) will not even admit there’s a problem?

  2. J. Soden says:

    Good one!!!
And we’ve finally been able to identify a success directly attributable to Obumble – more citizens now are armed!

  3. Harold says:

Wayne LaPierre of the NRA says no organization has been louder or clearer on the urgent need to enforce the federal gun laws than the NRA.
    See Transcript:

“Nothing illustrates America’s breakdown like the way the president’s hometown celebrates its holidays. Memorial Day: 12 dead, 56 wounded. The Fourth of July: 10 dead, 53 wounded. Labor Day: 9 dead, 46 wounded. This kind of third-world carnage has become absolutely … normal.

If the president held a press conference every time multiple people were murdered by criminal gangbangers with illegal guns in Chicago, we’d hear from him almost every day.
Instead, he says nothing. And the untold secret in Washington is that he has all the laws he needs to stop the bloodshed now.

Under the existing federal gun laws, he could take every felon with a gun, drug dealer with a gun and criminal gangbanger with a gun off the streets tomorrow and lock them up for five years or more. But he won’t do it, his Justice Department won’t do it, and the media never asks why. So convicted gangbangers carry illegal guns because they fear rival gangs more than they fear being prosecuted for a gun charge.

Every police officer on the streets in cities like Chicago, Baltimore and Detroit knows what it’s like to get called to a murder scene knowing full well who did it—because the killer was in the back of their car yesterday, or last week.
Thugs like De’Eris Brown, who was supposed to be serving a 10-year sentence for second-degree felony robbery but got let off with five years’ probation … so he was free to roam the streets and kill a 9-year-old girl while she was doing her homework.

If you want to stop violent crime, and I know you do, take violent criminals off the street. Prosecute them under the current federal gun laws, and make sure they don’t get to their next crime scene. That’s the way to save lives.

“The NRA has demanded the strongest possible prosecution of the federal gun laws for over 20 years. Our repeated calls have been met by deafening silence from Washington’s elites.”

If the president held a press conference tomorrow morning and directed every federal jurisdiction to round up every felon with a gun, drug dealer with a gun and criminal gangbanger with a gun, law enforcement would have thousands of violent thugs in handcuffs and squad cars by sundown.

Instead, he waits for a crime that fits his agenda … and blames the NRA. Mr. President, we will not accept blame for your failure.

The NRA has demanded the strongest possible prosecution of the federal gun laws for over 20 years. Our repeated calls have been met by deafening silence from Washington’s elites.

President Obama and Hillary Clinton and other politicians use the carnage to campaign for more gun laws they won’t and don’t enforce. And the good, honest Americans living out in farm towns in Nebraska or Oklahoma … or working two jobs in inner-city Chicago or Baltimore … people who keep their heads down, raise their kids and just try to do the right thing—they see through it all.

We’ve lived through the Clinton administration’s utter lack of federal gun prosecutions, and the Obama administration is following suit, while the country suffers. And we know that a second Clinton administration will just mean more of the same.

Americans have no tolerance for violent thugs … no tolerance for the politicians who enable them … and no tolerance for a media that devotes endless time to new gun laws but won’t even ask why we don’t enforce the existing federal gun laws we already have.
No organization has been louder, clearer or more consistent on the urgent need to enforce the federal gun laws than the NRA. And in the face of mounting political and media pressure to demean, shame and silence us … we will fight.

If you have had enough of the dishonest debate … if you’re sick and tired of politicians blaming you and your guns for their failure … demand truth and justice. Stand and fight with the NRA. “

  4. Pie Guevara says:

“The day after a horrific shooting spree by what appears to be a radicalized Muslim man and his partner in San Bernardino, California, Attorney General Loretta Lynch pledged to a Muslim advocacy and lobbying group that she would take aggressive action against anyone who used “anti-Muslim rhetoric” that “edges toward violence.”

    http://www.dailywire.com/news/1593/loretta-lynch-vows-prosecute-those-who-use-anti-james-barrett

“We’re at the point where these issues have come together really like never before in law enforcement thought and in our nation’s history and it gives us a wonderful opportunity and a wonderful moment to really make significant change.”

    — Loretta Lynch 83rd Attorney General of the United States

14 dead, 21 wounded, many critically, and this is “a wonderful opportunity and a wonderful moment” for the lunatic left to launch a frontal attack on the first two amendments of the Bill Of Rights.

Oh yeah, I feel safer already knowing that Obama, his his AG, and Democrat politicians are cynically using this atrocity to make a stab at liberty.

  5. Tina says:

You know it’s important for the leadership of this country to assure the Muslim citizens of this country and remind all citizens that we are a civilized people, lovers of freedom and the rights of all people to worship as they please in times like these.

It might also be useful to remind the world that the American people are extremely tolerant and inclusive. It might be useful to let the world know that given the enemy we face and the terrible intentions they have it is miraculous that there has been so little backlash and hatred expressed toward Muslims. It’s a testament to the things we believe in and hold dear. It’s evidence that freedom, supported and backed up by the rule of law, works.

I’m very disturbed by an administration that always points to Americans and our system of governance as needing change. The shaming and finger wagging gets more tiresome every day. Particularly in light of the evil that’s being perpetrated against us.

I’m equally disgusted that our media continues to embarrass itself with the same progressive motivated nonsense in it’s reporting.

Here’s a reminder of just how bad it is from one publication that marches to a different drummer.

  6. J. Soden says:

I find it extremely troubling for Obumble to be spouting “gun control, gun control, gun control” ad nauseum when he bent over backwards to allow Iran to have nuclear weapons . . . . . .
    Hypocrisy, anyone?

    • Tina says:

A Muslim man on Fox this morning said Obama can’t name the enemy or prosecute the war because of his deal with Iran…wouldn’t surprise me.

Also, we should recall that Obama’s own executive orders prevent him from using language such as “Islamic extremism”

The 2016 election can’t come fast enough! (Ted Cruz is surging in Iowa.)

  7. Libby says:

I can see where Ms. Lynch’s pronouncment would be bothersome. It is you she’s talking about, isn’t it.

“Industrial rape” … you ain’t never gonna live that one down.
