Hurricane “Damage” ~ Desperate Campaign Clinton Threatens Lawsuit in Florida

Deplorable J Soden found this gem from The Federalist

The Federalist:

Determined to let no event pass without a political spin, the Hillary Clinton campaign now looks to portray the hurricane ravaging Florida as part of a Republican plan to disenfranchise would-be Democratic voters.

With Hurricane Matthew’s arrival coinciding with the deadline for voter registration, Clinton campaign manager Robbie Mook smells a rat, somehow. “We are hoping and expecting that officials in Florida will adapt deadlines to account for the storm,” Mook is quoted in a Politico article on Thursday. One lawyer at a firm that does work for the campaign, Jean-Jacques Cabou, promised in a tweet that Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s inaction would result in a lawsuit.

The flaw in the Clinton campaign’s logic is that they are threatening litigation because Scott is following the law. Voting registration deadlines, in Florida as in other states, are matters of state law. The Florida Department of State’s website lists October 11 as the deadline to register, and state statute confirms it. Florida Statute § 97.055 says “the registration books must be closed on the 29th day before each election and must remain closed until after that election.”

This smells of desperation. But I think the Democrat leadership has always acted out of desperation to manipulate voter roles. 2016 is no exception.

October 2016, National Review:

Former Colorado secretary of state Scott Gessler identified nearly 5,000 non-citizens in Colorado who voted in the 2010 general election. Gessler’s office uncovered upwards of 12,000 non-citizens registered to vote. Liberal groups who oppose stronger election-system protections attacked him for trying to verify citizenship status – because God forbid public officials sworn to uphold the rule of law actually do anything to enhance the integrity of our election system!

Compounding the problem: The militant immigration expansionist group Mi Familia Vota, connected with the Service Employees International Union, has ramped-up its efforts in swing states to facilitate naturalization and registration of Latino voters who will promote the open-borders agenda at the polls. (continues)

If it’s happening in Colorado, it’s happening elsewhere.

October 2016, NewsMax:

The FBI and Virginia authorities Friday were investigating alleged voter fraud in the state
after officials found nearly 20 voter applications turned in using the names of dead people.

Investigators have found as many as 20 potentially fraudulent registrations, Harrisonburg Registrar Debbie Logan told The Richmond Times-Dispatch.

May 2016, Townhall:

A comparison of records by David Goldstein, investigative reporter for CBS2/KCAL9, has revealed hundreds of so-called dead voters in Southern California, a vast majority of them in Los Angeles County. “He took a lot of time choosing his candidates,” said Annette Givans of her father, John Cenkner. Cenkner died in Palmdale in 2003. Despite this, records show that he somehow voted from the grave in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010. But he’s not the only one. CBS2 compared millions of voting records from the California Secretary of State’s office with death records from the Social Security Administration and found hundreds of so-called dead voters. Specifically, 265 in Southern California and a vast majority of them, 215, in Los Angeles County alone. The numbers come from state records that show votes were cast in that person’s name after they died. In some cases, Goldstein discovered that they voted year after year.

But as some folks always say, “Who needs family values?”
