Still Just “Walkin’ Here”

Posted by Tina

Soon after Donald Trump announced his intention to run for president people started expressing their dismay at his colorful use of the language and his bombastic, often offensive style. I pointed out that Trump was a New Yorker and it wasn’t unusual for a New Yorker to talk like that. I even posted video from Midnight Cowboy to make the point.

Today another New Yorker stepped up to illustrate my point. Robert De Niro: “bull$#*t artist, con man, blatantly stupid, a punk, a dog, a pig, a mutt…”stupid”…a “national disaster.”

De Niro also said he wanted to “punch” Trump “in the face”.

Sound familiar?

You can imagine my delight when I discovered that actor Jon Voight, who co-starred with Dustin Hoffman in Midnight Cowboy, came to The Donald’s defense:

“I am so ashamed of my fellow actor Bobby DeNiro’s rant against Donald Trump. What foul words he used against a presidential nominee who has worked harder then any other man I know in the past year and a half to get a good message to the American people,” Voight wrote, just his fourth tweet since opening his account in July.

Voight is also a New Yorker…he probably should have seen it coming.

De Niro’s contempt for Trump is as hypocritical as most others that have been critical.

There’s a scene in the De Niro film, “Once Upon a Time in America” that suggests he’s familiar with Donald’s fantasy descriptions…a darned good method actor:

Strasberg attributed to Vakhtangov the distinction between Stanislavski’s process of “justifying” behaviour with the inner motive forces that prompt that behaviour in the character and “motivating” behaviour with imagined or recalled experiences relating to the actor and substituted for those relating to the character. Following this distinction, actors ask themselves “What would motivate me, the actor, to behave in the way the character does?” rather than the more Stanislavskian question “Given the particular circumstances of the play, how would I behave, what would I do, how would I feel, how would I react?

Di Noro’s character in “Once Upon a Time in America” rapes a woman (Elizabeth Montgomery) that he has loved, and been spurned by, since his youth.

Once Upon a Time in America is one of my favorite movies…the music, by Ennio Merricone, was wonderful. A live version is here:

1984 Italian-American epic crime drama film co-written and directed by Italian filmmaker Sergio Leone and starring Robert De Niro and James Woods. Based on Harry Grey’s novel The Hoods, it chronicles the lives of Jewish ghetto youths who rise to prominence in New York City’s world of organized crime. The film explores themes of childhood friendships, love, lust, greed, betrayal, loss, broken relationships, and the rise of mobsters in American society.

We are living through one of the most unusual elections in our nation’s history. It will soon become another of America’s many stories. Should he win, Donald Trump’s contribution may yet become one that surprises every one of us. A good many fine people have faith in him. They read him as authentic and see him as a dedicated, hard working man who loves his country. We could do worse and have. Trump is not a polished, plastic politician. He is a burly man that took what was given him and built on it. He made mistakes and learned from them. He grew to maturity through his children…don’t we all?

Hey…we’re all just walkin’ here. Can we at least move on to the topics that matter to the American people now (next debate) or will we be forced to stumble across the finish line in November?

Big fan of composer Ennio Moricone and director Sergio Leone. Robert De Niro is just blowing off left wing steam. Like most left-wing Hollywood types, he has a full head of it.

    Off Topic …

Not long ago there was a left-wing fool/ignoramus who frequented these pages and insisted that Sharia was some sort of benign “God’s Law” as practiced and adhered to by a majority of Muslims. Of course, it is not that at all, except to mindless left-wing PC lunatics who have no idea what they are talking about.

    More Off Topic …

The Clinton Foundation has accepted millions of dollars from Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar — countries who oppress and discriminate against women and gays, and can jail, torture, or even execute women rape victims and homosexuals. (All according to Sharia.)

All these donors to the Clinton Foundation gained State Department clearance to buy caches of American-made weapons and in 2010 Hillary Clinton saw to it that $60 billion dollars of weapons transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Bill Clinton also gave Qatar a big boost in legitimacy in its bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup which is now embroiled in controversy and scandal.

Hacked emails now reveal that Hillary Clinton in 2014 (after she retired as Secretary of State) was fully aware that Qatar and Saudi Arabia were (and are) providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL. Instead of twisting arms, they gave away the store to get more.

These two individuals should never be allowed to serve in any governmental position in any capacity except as snitches in a federal prison. If Hillary Clinton wins the presidency, she and her husband will be given free reign to continue their dynasty of corruption. Doubtlessly they will take such a win as a mandate.

Still amped up from the Giants win tonight. My team managed to still be in the game after 13 knuckle biting innings. Otherwise it would have been all over. Tomorrow night is the last chance to keep from going down before game five.

Hey, he’s just walking here, grabbing women by the p***y. What’s the big deal?

    • Deplorable J Soden says:

Once again, the Left demonstrates its wonderful grace and class . . . .

      • Joey says:

So directly quoting Donald Trump is an indication that I have no grace or class? You’re hilarious!

Hey, if you’re offended that I said Donald Trump grabs women by the *****, then don’t vote for me for president.

But then, Trump is the one who said he did that himself. So if you have any shred of self-awareness left, don’t vote for Donald Trump as president.

I am now a fan of a fellow named Mac Stipanovich, a Republican lobbyist in Florida, and if you can find his NPR remarks of this morning, I recommended them.

“Face down in the Kool-aid” … that’s what he says about you die-hard Trump supporters. Witty boy. He also opines that, though no one wants to abandon a sinking ship, Paul Ryan and the rest of them may just have to get into the water.

  5. Dewster says:

I am glad you are owning trump, and what he stands for.

Gone is the uppity family values crap!

    Thank You!

    The Hypocrisy was getting old.

He represents the Republicans , their values, and bigotry well.

That is fair and Republicans are free to say these things. The rest of us are free to call it deplorable.

Now to the Issues? Or more of this garbage?
