Obamacare – Lessons Learned the Hard Way?

Remember the Pajama Boy ad that was made to garner support for the ACA? Whether it was effective or not is questionable but I can’t help wondering whether young people have grasped the devastating effect this law has had on their lives and their future. That’s why this cartoon intrigued me. What’s it like to pay a $700.00 a year fine for an empty package if you’ve chosen to opt out of Obamacare? What’s it like to pay high premiums only to be faced with deductibles that push care out of reach? What’s it like to get subsidized insurance only to discover you can’t find a doctor? What’s it like to graduate from college, with the expectation of a good paying job, and then end up tending bar without health insurance?

The consequence of the empty slogan “hope and change” is wrapped up in this cartoon. How many millennials will decide to take a look at alternative ideas?

An app, featured in a Breitbart article suggests that at least some have already taken another look:

According to an exclusive report from the “Tinder for Politics” app Voter, around 74% of its Millennial-based audience support the requirement of an ID to vote, while 51% support building a border wall.

69% also support using the term “radical Islam” to describe ISIS — something which President Obama has frequently refused to do — while 59% oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants.

So many people (smugly) expect Hillary to win in a landslide. They say Trump doesn’t have a chance. But do the polls and pundit opinion reflect the mood of the people? On two important issues, healthcare and jobs, so many people have experienced devastating consequences over progressive policies.

I expect Hillary to win. I hope I am wrong.

I do not think it will be a landslide, but even if the victory is razor thin, she and the Democrats will take it as a mandate. With Hillary in office US will continue to suffer from corrupt president who has nothing but contempt for America, its instiutions and its citizens.

  2. Libby says:

No, Pie. It’s you she holds in contempt, … not the nation, its institutions or the more kindly of its citizens. I can certainly see where you would not be voting for her. She does not reflect your worldview at all, whatsoever. But let’s be clear … you … are not this nation … praise be to the Goddess.

    • Pie Guevara says:

      Dear Lippy,

I have never said I was “this nation”, you boob. I have no doubt Hillary is full of contempt for me, but no less than she has for you.

Oh, and who is this Goddess? Hillary? 😀

    Kindly? That’s a laugh!

You kindly types have created quite the mess in cities all over the nation. You USE minorities to gain power…then your policies do nothing to create conditions for a good education or good jobs for minority children or their parents.

Your policies have created a mess of our healthcare system and pushed middle class Americans into poverty and the college educated into their parents basements.

Your “kindly” policies have created conditions in the world that are appalling and dangerous.

You kindly types enthusiastically support and promote corrupt, low life people who conduct politics by the Saul Alinsky method of personal destruction.

There is nothing “kind” about Hillary, her people, or the supporters who follow her and share her prejudices, hypocrisy, and duplicity.

Hillary has no love for what she calls a “basket of deplorables” and I can assure you her contempt falls on one heck of a lot of citizens.

YOU are not the nation either. Your party is fast becoming the party of bigoted, sinister, power hungry, liars and thieves.

Speaking of boobs, remember that left-wing troll who was always touting Politifact as the last word?

WSJ’s James Taranto Demonstrates PolitiFact Helped Spread ObamaCare ‘Fraud’

Wall Street Journal columnist James Taranto has been a persistent critic of “nonpartisan” fact-checking websites run by liberal-media veterans. In Wednesday’s column, Taranto collected a devastating set of PolitiFact rulings that show how unabashedly mercurcial and political their “Truth-o-Meter” is.
