Obama, “I could have won”

by Jack

barack-obama-13Since Hillary’s stunning defeat in the backdrop of so many other democrat losses, from governor races to Congress, Obama has been saying, I could have won a 3rd term!   Really Mr. President?  How ungracious of you and totally lacking in tact.  Why are you saying that now?  It is incredibly disrespectful to Hillary Clinton, because you’re saying you could have done a better job, and that she blew it!  You are inferring she’s a loser but, you’re a winner!

Obama’s exit polling was about the same as Hillary’s final election percentage.   So, there’s no way to know what he might have done if he ran head to head with Trump.   But, the question remains, why go there?  What is Obama trying to accomplish?  Is he trying to say he’s the consummate democrat with charm and power beyond all others?  Or… is he trying to defend his legacy, because democrats took a major loss under his administration?  Whatever his reasoning, it’s sour grapes and it speaks poorly of his character as his final days in office draw to a close.

I’m pretty sure we can expect more snarky remarks out of Obama, especially since he has taken the unusual decision to stay in Washington.  Staying behind in D.C. is hardly fair to the new president, but that’s partisan politics.  Fairness or whats best for the nation has nothing to do with it and that becomes part of Obama’s legacy too.

Such a fitting remark from a paper tiger. Mr. Trump has his work cut out for him.

“The problems got so bad that in the last few years that some officers were punished for being too harsh in their efforts to improve discipline and performance of subordinates. While Air Force commanders want discipline and performance improved in the missile forces, it must be achieved in a politically correct manner. That, the latest analysis of the situation concluded, had become a major part of the problem and a massive obstacle to any solutions.”

After January 20th, Obumble will be in charge of CRASS.
Expect him to continue his snarky, self-absorbed opinions and phony photo-ops until the moron media finally get tired of him and relegate him to the Entertainment news or the Comics section.

  3. Rudolph Forrester says:

Obama has done far worse in his final daze. Look at his flurry of pardons and his abuse of presidential orders to get around congressional approval. It is a testament to the collective intelligence of liberals in America that they still support the worst president in history.

  4. Dewster says:

    LOL

After All That Trump said I find it funny. Why not take a little dig on the way out? .. A Babling idiot calls you everything in the book only to walk into the White House and ask for your help cause he’s in over his head?

    LOL

Both Dems and Reps just want to hate each other as the Billionaires rob us blind.

My My who ya gonna Hate after Obama is Gone?

Oh yea it will be US. The Independents who are getting ready to stop Paul Ryan from destroying Social Security and medicare.

Look forward to the battle. Please do not collect the check while we fight on this.

Have to say Democrats and Republicans amuse me. But never forget you guys put together are not even the majority.

Time to end these 2 parties running elections.

    • Tina says:

Independent? Dewey you have never presented an independent idea or platform. Please explain what makes you think the “Independents” are a viable alternative to the two parties. Also lets see evidence that independents are in the majority…by what measure?

In January 2015 Gallup found that 43% of Americans were registered as “independent.” But they also found that “The recent rise in political independence has come at the expense of both parties, but more among Democrats than among Republicans. Over the last six years, Democratic identification has fallen from 36% — the highest in the last 25 years — to 30%. Meanwhile, Republican identification is down from 28% in 2008 to 26% last year.”

During that same period democrats have lost over 1000 positions in state and federal government, an indication that those independents lean republican.

In reality voters have two basic choices, yes and no. I believe this is the fundamental reason the two parties emerged strongly in our American republic and why “independents” have rarely managed to put up winning candidates or contribute much to the outcomes. Independents rarely engage in conversations about the ideological differences in the two main parties. Independents don’t like to choose. Radical independents like you, Dewey, prefer to complain and agitate. Rarely do you offer solutions. I guess agitating makes you feel like a big shot, but when all is said and done, you almost always side with the democrats and you’re more partisan than you will admit.

Obama and the Dems are in panic mode. They’re meeting this week to strategize on how to preserve ObamaCare by throwing monkey wrenches at Trump from all directions.

URGENT: Obama Issues Flurry of Executive Orders to Tie Trump’s Hands:

“Even the most casual observer can see what President Barack Obama is up to.
His recent wake of unilateral actions on his way out the door appear designed to cut a wide swath through President-elect Donald Trump‘s agenda, The Hill reported.

Every president polishes his legacy during his last term, but Obama’s decisions of late seem particularly crafted to thwart Trump. It’s hard not to notice both the timing and the tone.”

This had me ROTFLMBO! Must hear video of Obama’s voice dripping with contemp.

Obama Tells Trump: Stop ‘Whining’ and Trying to Discredit the Election:

“WASHINGTON — President Obama ridiculed Donald J. Trump on Tuesday for saying that the presidential election was rigged against him, telling Mr. Trump, the Republican nominee, to “stop whining and go try to make his case” to win more votes than Hillary Clinton.

At a news conference in the White House Rose Garden, Mr. Obama said, “I have never seen in my lifetime, or in modern political history, any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections and the election process before votes have even taken place.”

By turns mocking and grave, Mr. Obama said the claims demonstrated that Mr. Trump lacked the leadership or toughness to be president. But he warned that the charges, which Mr. Trump repeated to cheers at a rally in Colorado later in the day, would undermine the nation’s purest expression of democracy, a popular vote respected by the vanquished as well as the victors.”

Here are the eight Trump Cabinet picks Democrats plan to target:

“Democratic senators plan to aggressively target eight of Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees in the coming weeks and are pushing to stretch their confirmation votes into March — an unprecedented break with Senate tradition.

Such delays would upend Republican hopes of quickly holding hearings and confirming most of Trump’s top picks on Inauguration Day. But Democrats, hamstrung by their minority status, are determined to slow-walk Trump’s picks unless they start disclosing reams of personal financial data they’ve withheld so far, according to senior aides.

Incoming Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) has told Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) that Democrats will home in especially on Rex Tillerson, Trump’s choice for secretary of state; Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), his pick for attorney general; Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), tapped to lead the Office of Management and Budget; and Betsy DeVos, selected to serve as education secretary.

There’s also Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services and oversee changes to Obamacare, who is expected to be attacked by Democrats for his support for privatizing Medicare. Andrew Puzder, a restaurant executive set to serve as labor secretary, will face scrutiny for past comments on the minimum wage, among other policies. Steve Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs partner set to serve as treasury secretary, and Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, Trump’s pick to lead the EPA, will also be the focus of Democratic attacks, aides said.”

Schumer Vows To Fight Trump Appointees Throughout Confirmation Process:

“Democrats don’t appear to be satisfied with any of Trump’s appointees. Senate Democrats don’t have the power needed to actually stop any of the appointees from being confirmed, but they can drag out the process, forcing as much as 30 hours of debate per appointee.

Such a delay is sure to slow the progress of Trump’s key reforms from the campaign trail, a result Democrats are working hard to achieve.

“They’ve been rewarded for stealing a Supreme Court justice. We’re going to help them confirm their nominees, many of whom are disqualified?” fumed Democratic Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown in the first week of December. “It’s not obstruction, it’s not partisan, it’s just a duty to find out what they’d do in these jobs.”

I don’t suppose it’s occurred to any of you brain surgeons that the O-man was just yanking The Donald’s chain … a thing much too easy to do.

I am impressed by Obama’s sudden burst of purposeful energy. Remember two years ago? The man was plainly ready to move on. Not no more. He seems to think there is something to be done with The Donald. That is “hope” incarnate. He may be a saint.

  9. Harold says:

    Speaking of the DC Swamp…..

Two alligators were sitting at the side of the swamp near the lake. The smaller one turned to the bigger one and said, “I don’t know how you can be so much bigger than me. We’re the same age; we were the same size as kids. I just don’t get it.”
“Well,” said the big gator, “what have you been eating?”
“Politicians, same as you,” replied the small gator.
“Hmm. Well, where do you catch them?”

“Down the other side of the swamp near the parking lot by the Capitol.”
“Same here. Hmm. How do you catch them?”
“Well, I crawl up under one of their Lexus cars and wait for one to unlock the car door. Then I jump out, grab them by the leg, shake the sh– out of them and eat’em!”

“Same here.” says the big gator. “Do you eat Democrats or Republicans?”

“I eat the Democrats” says the little guy.
“Ah!” says the big gator. “I think I see your problem. You’re not getting any real nourishment. See, by the time you finish shaking the sh– out of a Democrat, there’s nothing left but an ass-h and a briefcase.”

  10. Harold says:

Really, the narcissist thought he could win?? maybe die hard Liberal media anti GOP types got it right, after taking a honset look at what Obama really was and caused.

    by Maureen Dowd

“Election Therapy From My Basket of Deplorables

The election was a complete repudiation of Barack Obama: his fantasy world of political correctness, the politicization of the Justice Department and the I.R.S., an out-of-control E.P.A., his neutering of the military, his nonsupport of the police and his fixation on things like transgender bathrooms. Since he became president, his party has lost 63 House seats, 10 Senate seats and 14 governorships.

The country had signaled strongly in the last two midterms that they were not happy. This Dems’ answer was to give them more of the same from a person they did not like or trust.

Preaching — and pandering — with a message of inclusion, the Democrats have instead become a party where incivility and bad manners are taken for granted, rudeness is routine, religion is mocked and there is absolutely no respect for a differing opinion. This did not go down well in the Midwest, where Trump flipped three blue states and 44 electoral votes.

The rudeness reached its peak when Vice President-elect Mike Pence was booed by attendees of “Hamilton” and then pompously lectured by the cast. This may play well with the New York theater crowd but is considered boorish and unacceptable by those of us taught to respect the office of the president and vice president, if not the occupants.

Here is a short primer for the young protesters. If your preferred candidate loses, there is no need for mass hysteria, canceled midterms, safe spaces, crying rooms or group primal screams. You might understand this better if you had not received participation trophies, undeserved grades to protect your feelings or even if you had a proper understanding of civics. The Democrats are now crying that Hillary had more popular votes. That can be her participation trophy.

If any of my sons had told me they were too distraught over a national election to take an exam, I would have brought them home the next day, fearful of the instruction they were receiving. Not one of the top 50 colleges mandate one semester of Western Civilization. Maybe they should rethink that.

Mr. Trump received over 62 million votes, not all of them cast by homophobes, Islamaphobes, racists, sexists, misogynists or any other “ists.” I would caution Trump deniers that all of the crying and whining is not good preparation for the coming storm. The liberal media, both print and electronic, has lost all credibility. I am reasonably sure that none of the mainstream print media had stories prepared for a Trump victory. I watched the networks and cable stations in their midnight meltdown — embodied by Rachel Maddow explaining to viewers that they were not having a “terrible, terrible dream” and that they had not died and “gone to hell.”

The media’s criticism of Trump’s high-level picks as “not diverse enough” or “too white and male” — a day before he named two women and offered a cabinet position to an African-American — magnified this fact.

Here is a final word to my Democratic friends. The election is over. There will not be a do-over. So let me bid farewell to Al Sharpton, Ben Rhodes and the Clintons. Note to Cher, Barbra, Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham: Your plane is waiting. And to Jon Stewart, who talked about moving to another planet: Your spaceship is waiting. To Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z, Beyoncé and Katy Perry, thanks for the free concerts. And finally, to all the foreign countries that contributed to the Clinton Foundation, there will not be a payoff or a rebate.

As Eddie Murphy so eloquently stated in the movie “48 Hrs.”: “There’s a new sheriff in town.” And he is going to be here for 1,461 days.”

Actually I think Dowd is wrong on the one term numbers, when it starts to settle out and the adults give Trump a fair chance, I think that number is going to be more like 2920 days.
