Mayor of London Says Trump not Welcome in UK?

by Jack

Sadiq Khan, mayor of London has been feuding with Trump for a long time and it boiled over with the president’s tweet about something Kahn said in the wake of the London terror attack.  ”At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is “no reason to be alarmed!”  Trump tweeted.

Kahn previously denounced the terrorist attack as cowardly and he was saying the people of London should stand united and go about their business.  He asked them not to be alarmed by the increased presence of police and assured them all is well. Kahn said he was referring to the police presence.    Trump apparently took this to mean not to worry about terrorism because all is well and that set off a firestorm of controversy.

Khan called Trump’s comments about Muslims “ignorant” and repeatedly said the U.K. government should cancel Trump’s planned state visit to the UK.  ”I don’t think we should roll out the red carpet to the president of the USA in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for.”  Now its Kahn who’s overreaching.   But, then he started overreaching when he took on the role as spokesman for the people of England, saying Trump was not welcome.

Khan added, “There are millions of Muslims around the world who love America, me included. And to play into the so-called ‘ISIS narrative’ that Western liberal values are incompatible with Islam is ignorant.”  Mayor Kahn was not asked why there are Muslim enclaves forming in Europe and within the UK that are in effect “no go” zones for police. In France these neighborhoods are simply called, culturally sensitive.  French police admit they are also high crime areas and that requires a special method of police response.

Prime Minister Theresa May, who had also previously avoided directly criticizing Trump for his tweets about Khan, also finally said something negative about the U.S. president. “I think Donald Trump is wrong in what he said about Sadiq Khan, in relation to the attack on London Bridge,” May told The Sun on Tuesday.

But that was about as far as the prime minister was willing to go before confirming that the state visit would go ahead as planned. “The relationship with America is our deepest and most important defense and security relationship,” she added.

UPDATE:  The US president’s eldest son tweeted a link to a September 2016 story in the Independent, which quoted Khan saying terror attacks were “part and parcel of living in a big city”, and “I want to be reassured that every single agency and individual involved in protecting our city has the resources and expertise they need to respond in the event that London is attacked.”

“You have to be kidding me?!” Trump Jr tweeted, quoting the headline: “Terror attacks are part of living in big city, says London Mayor Sadiq Khan”.

    I agree with the UK

trump is an unprofessional embarrassment and the world wants nothing to do with us as long as that guy is around.

  2. J. Soden says:

The residents of London are appalled at both the terrorist attacks and the excuses by Kahn. The attack gave Kahn a chance to be on the world stage. He had a golden opportunity to demonstrate leadership and attack the jihadist butchers and all he did was spout platitudes.
The silence from the Muslim community of the butchery of innocents by cowardly jihadists remains deafening.

You don’t know what you’re talking about, J. Soden. Just because your preferred sources don’t report on the condemnations of terrorism by Muslims doesn’t mean they don’t happen.

I agree with J,Soden, who makes a strong point of calling out the hypocrisy of Kahn when he failed the London community as a elected leader.

I also believe that what we asked to view in Muslim bridge London demonstration of condemning acts of the more twisted of their faith Is just a great propaganda photo op, and it should be taken as only that” propaganda”.

Until the Muslim leaders do more to put a stop to any senseless murdering sprees, I just do not feel they are doing what is nesscery to prevent future killings of innocent people.

The army of ISIS sleeper cells in every Muslim community are not totally unknown by someone of peace in any Muslim community, but it seems to date those of Muslim peace just seem to hope and use prayer to express to the world they have peaceful intentions, and then what? express their dismay publicly about the killings, that by itself will never be enough to prevent more killings.

So until Muslims start exposing those terrorist’s embedded in their community I feel news articles about a “100 Muslim leaders condemning those that kill” is just propaganda, mostly so the angered public might refrain from retaliation. Those same Muslim leaders have the ability to start the process of exposing terrorist from within their community, and until they do so, then I will not believe they are sincere, so far they have done far less than they should.

Think of it like this, then: “If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.”

It is a risk you accept. If you can’t deal with it, then it’s off to Chico with you … where you can contemplate, in safety, the fact that the Qatar imbroglio is apparently more Russian mischief, and that our idiot President decided to take credit for it.

(“Boob”, I was going to finish with … but this is only to denigrate boobs, and I shouldn’t.)
