UPDATE:
My net sources say this 2nd Lt. is currently at Fort Benning, GA. He’s enrolled at the Ranger training school run by the 75th Rangers, 3rd Bn.
It’s believed he’s temporarily at Camp Frank D. Merrill in the northern Georgia mountains for specialized mountain training. However, due to all the recent publicity he may be recalled very soon to Ft. Benning to answer questions posed by a number of federal authorities.
Rapone’s regular unit is the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. Beyond this information, nobody is talking, least not publically. There is a huge bubble being thrown over this story and likely we won’t know one more thing until it’s authorized by the highest authority.
If this story is 100% real and not some prank concocted by Rapone, there will be a very high price to be paid. Even if it turns out it was all a joke, there will still be big problems. There is no possible good ending for this story.
