President Trump’s Vision to Roll Back the Regulatory State

Posted by Tina

Members of President Trump’s administration recently attended a convention to talk about the President’s vision to create savings, opportunity and growth through regulatory reforms. The Washington Times reports:

“The president is making fundamental changes to how the regulatory state interacts with the people, and he is selecting judges who will enforce the law as written and respect the separation of powers,” Mr. McGahn said in his remarks on Friday. “The Trump vision of regulatory reform can be summed up in three simple principles: due process, fair notice and individual liberty. The Trump vision of the judiciary can be summed up in two words: originalism and textualism.” …

… Dozens of panel discussions and lectures examined the way administrative agencies interact with and usurp the powers of the judicial, legislative and executive branches of government. Scholars, lawyers and government officials showed how the administrative state has waded into nearly every political debate imaginable, including: religious liberty, gay and civil rights, environmental and financial regulation.

Roger Severino, director of the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services, said President Trump has a different view of the administrative state than his predecessor. Under President Obama, he said, departments had a “blank check” to impose regulations, from the contraceptive mandate to the Waters of the United States, without accountability to the American people.

The Trump administration is working hard to free this nation of the regulatory stranglehold imposed by radical activists in un-elected positions and to restore constitutional powers and the rule of law. Success in this area would be a real blessing to America. As you and your family and friends come to table this Thanksgiving to offer thanks for our blessings please keep in mind the many ways in which our President is working on behalf of the people and the nation we love.

As MLK said, ‘Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last.’

How wonderful it will be to once again not live under the jack-boot of a controlling dictatorship type of gov’t.

Heard today this quarter’s GDP is projected to be 3.8% and could even hit 4%. Jobs, jobs and more jobs. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have Detroit, Baltimore and other dead cities come back to life again. Sure is better than Obama’s 1.5-2.5%.

Also heard Trump is going to enforce the Clinton/Gingrich 1990’s era Welfare Workforce program requirements. Won’t it be nice to not have all of these homeless people in our town breaking into our cars and homes. They’ll have to get a job and/or go to school to get their welfare checks and other public services.

Peggy that growth is not just tech driven either. Growth is happening across all sectors. Wages are going up too. When that tax package passes (optimism!) it will gain momentum. Free at last indeed!

Welfare to work worked! I hope something can be done to encourage attendance in trade schools.

As a former business owner, I had to spend a lot of time dealing with goofernment regulations instead of using that time to improve the business or taking care of customers. And that was even before Obumble got into the act!
Any decrease in bureaucratic BS required by goofernment is a welcome change to ANY business!

      You got that right Jay.

In CA the safety and health (CAOSHA) regulation is extremely heavy on paperwork. That level of training and paperwork should be required of those with egregious infractions to discourage repeat performances. We had zero accidents in 30 years, obviously we were already doing a good job in terms of safety. But when they enacted the new regs we we forced to waste a lot of hours telling our employees what they already knew and practiced and filling out forms that did nothing but take up storage space.

Also the state changed its laws so often we were forced to buy (or individually download, which takes a lot of time) notices posters every single year.

Fabulous article by Victor Davis Hansen over at America Greatness, “Never Mind ‘Trumpism’: What is ‘Deplorablism’?” is a must read. He describes the steadfast support for Trump by those Americans Hillary and her media so stupidly and wrongly labeled “deplorable” in depth.
