What Do You Know?

Take this simple quiz and test your knowledge of military aircraft history in WWI:

Answers:  The roundel with a white center belonged to the USA.  The swastika was actually an American Indian symbol for good luck and was first depicted on American planes.  United States (Dr. Hiram Maxim) invented the machine gun, the pat. rights were later sold to Germany.  The British turned it down,  initially declined saying it would waste too much ammunition.  Lafayette Escadrille was a French squadron with American pilots.  The USA was first to adopt the red star.  They changed to the roundel and the USSR/Russians adopted the red star.   USA eventually went to a white star with a red dot in the center.  The dot was changed to dark blue in WW2.
