Majority of Americans: More Gun Control Is Not the Answer

Posted by Tina

Recent polling indicates the majority of Americans have not been persuaded by the left’s emotionally driven student’s appeal for stricter gun control. The poll by Rasmussen found that “54% of American Adults” believe government agencies failed to respond to “numerous warning signs from the prospective killer” in the Florida school shooting. Only 33% thought that a lack of adequate gun control was to blame. More stunning was the 61% of parents with primary and middle school aged children who faulted government agencies as opposed to only 23% of that group who blamed a lack of gun control.

It’s heartening to know that the majority of Americansare making decisions based on factual information and reason! I predict the demise of the left’s brand of sob story politics. It can’t happen soon enough for me. I’m fed up with hyphenated divisive politics.

Well, would you look at that. I’m more conservative on guns than President Trump.

Will this be enough to help you realize he doesn’t actually believe in anything?

    • Tina says:

Chris you do know the difference between talking and actually creating legislation that becomes law, yes?

A person with good negotiating skills allows for and participates in the expression of open creative ideas…what is actually put into law is another matter.

“Will this be enough to help you realize he doesn’t actually believe in anything?”

Your perception is lousy due to your utter lack of understanding about how the man leads and negotiates.

Removing guns from someone that has demonstrated that he’s a potential danger to himself or others, as Cruz clearly did, could be made legal. A court order would suffice. If, after a careful psychological evaluation, a person is found to be of sound mind the guns would be returned…due process.

I would think you might give him kudos for meeting with the people involved and pressing for solutions that address the actual problems, which in this case are quite obvious!

  2. Peggy says:

Chris, what Trump suggested is already the law in Calif., unless it’s been reversed since implemented in 2016. Trump is not the most artful speaker. Most of us have come to understand that and have learned to deal with what he intended and not just the words he spoke.

I’m a gun owner and have no problem with someone’s guns being temporarily seized if the owner is a threat to themselves or others.

California gun confiscation law takes effect Jan. 1:

“REDDING, Calif. – A new California law takes effect January 1 that allows legally-owned guns to be confiscated if family or friends believe the owner is a threat to themselves or others.

It’s called AB-1014 and it comes after the mass shooting in May 2014 that claimed six lives in Isla Vista, California.

Before the shooting, the suspect uploaded a video to YouTube discussing his plans as well as a 107,000 word manifesto, both of which were circulated minutes before he began killing.

The new law will allow family members who believe someone may be violent to apply for a “Gun Violence Restraining Order.”

Tina, you’re gonna suffocate in that bubble …

And Chris … I just heard that little bit of tape. My Lordy, Lordy … I am enjoying this.

    • Chris says:

Libby, you know it’s good spin when it basically boils down to “Trump is an idiot who doesn’t know what he’s saying, and can’t be held responsible for what he says.”

We both know that if Obama had ever said anything like this, Tina and Peggy would be livid.

Trump doesn’t know what due process is. This isn’t the first time he’s demonstrated that–remember when he recommended that police knock suspects’ heads on the car when they arrest them? It isn’t even the first time he’s advocated eliminating due process when it comes to the second amendment–Tina and Peggy would like to forget that he supported the Democrats’ push to disarm anyone on the no-fly list, a move I opposed, by the way.

Today it came out he didn’t consult anybody before pushing his irresponsible trade war rhetoric. Trump’s staff are leaving like rats fleeing a sinking ship. How much longer will Peggy and Tina keep pretending this isn’t the Titanic?

“…including a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll that shows support for stricter gun laws among registered voters at 68 percent…”

Leave it to Politico to do opposition polling following the Rasmussen poll.

The same radical elements that were behind the so-called women’s march organized the kids protest and are likely behind your poll.

Most of America is on to your party’s underhanded tactics and truly disgusting lack of morals when it comes to furthering your radical agenda.
