“Today, Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings spoke to a liberal audience at the Broward County Democrats “Stronger Together” rally which was intended to unite the party ahead of November elections. While taking the stage, Rep. Hastings warmed up the crowd by telling a joke about President Donald J. Trump drowning in the Potomac River.
Rep. Hastings emceed the event and began by saying that he recently heard a joke where a colleague explained the difference between a crisis and catastrophe. “A crisis is if Donald Trump falls into the Potomac River and can’t swim. And a catastrophe is if anybody saves his a**,” Florida’s 20th district congressman said to laughs and applause.”
This is an old joke reconstituted to incorporate the President’s name. Was it in bad taste? I think so. Does it make Trump look bad or does it make the Democrats and Hasting’s in particular look bad? I believe it does both to dems and Hastings. Does it do anything, anything….GOOD for anybody by attempting to undermine the President? No, not really…. then who is the azz hat here, Trump or Hastings?
Come on, Jack. Having “lawyer jokes” told on him … is the very least of Trump’s troubles. There are sooooooo many other things making the man look bad:

CNN, of course, goes straight for the jugular:
“In a plea deal, he said that “in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office” he kept information that would have been harmful to the candidate and the campaign from becoming public.”
Now … which “candidate for federal office” do you suppose that was?

JFK and Bobbie come immediately to mind…LBJ too…and of course, good old Teddy Kennedy (all shielded by the media that now wants to bury Trump! Hypocrites! Journalistic hacks!).
Or…the time the media didn’t bother to tell the public about Bill Clinton’s sordid, vulgar, abusive past. (Shielded…the Arkansas story was there to report)
Or the time that US justice department leadership, in collusion with leadership at the FBI, purposely failed to properly investigate and prosecute one Hillary Rotten Clinton so she could run for President.
The double standard isn’t just in the media…it’s bled into the legal system. THAT is the story and that is the story Libby’s media refuses to cover.
The problem with this abusive weaponizing of our legal system, this persecution of Trumps lawyer, is the charges, whether true or not, are old tired news and mild in comparison to the corruption and criminality on the left our legal system ignores.
The thing that galls the left the most is that their candidate, Hillary, was JUST THAT BAD and enough of the public knew it. Only the elitist areas of the country thought she was a viable candidate. The other thing, two years down the road, is that Trump works for the American people and he works hard. He’s the hardest working (unpaid) president we’ve ever seen.
That’s right. Just rattle off the partisan non-sequiturs like they mean something.
The big news today is that, while his plea deal pointedly fails to name the instigator of Cohen’s felonious actions, Cohen himself decided to name the man in his allocution. You know, to commission a felony is a felony.
