Porn on the Job – Your Fed Tax $$ at Work!

Posted by Tina

I’m trying to imagine the dollar amount of waste involved on a yearly basis from the porn watching employees at the federal government. Why? Because apparently watching porn, including child porn, is an activity that is frequently done on the job in most every department of our government. It’s been going on for at least 15 years! The waste must be in the hundreds of millions and that’s a lot of wasted time and tax dollars spent on a bunch of undeserving useless bureaucrats. But that’s not the half of it. The websites are often Russian produced, complete with malware that infects the computers and can then be used to infiltrate USGS networks. Terrific.

This story made big news, right? As far as I know it did not. But, we all know it should. We know that, like the many other government employee scandals that have gone on for years, this is something that rips off the citizens of this country and ultimately could jeopardize our safety. It irks me that these employees are well paid with beaucoup benies too, including weeks of vacation time! Seems to me they are spending vacation time on the job.

I found it this story on Drudge. The source was a tech site, Nextgove.com:

Government auditors traced a malware infection back to a single porn-watching employee within the U.S. Geological Survey

An Interior Department watchdog recommended the U.S. Geological Survey ratchet up internet security protocols after discovering its networks had been infected with malware from pornography sites.

The agency’s inspector general traced the malicious software to a single unnamed USGS employee, who reportedly used a government-issued computer to visit some 9,000 adult video sites, according to a report published Oct. 17.

Many of the prohibited pages were linked to Russian websites containing malware, which was ultimately downloaded to the employee’s computer and used to infiltrate USGS networks, auditors found. The investigation found the employee saved much of the pornographic material on an unauthorized USB drive and personal Android cellphone, both of which were connected to their computer against agency protocols.

The employee’s cell phone was also infected with malware.

“Our digital forensic examination revealed that [the employee] had an extensive history of visiting adult pornography websites” that hosted malware, the IG wrote. “The malware was downloaded to [the employee’s] government laptop, which then exploited the USGS’ network.”

The department’s rules of behavior explicitly prohibit employees from using government networks for viewing pornography and other inappropriate activities, and the IG found the employee had agreed to these rules “several years prior to detection.” The employee no longer works at the agency, OIG External Affairs Director Nancy DiPaolo told Nextgov.

We need to purge the government employee roles. Fire them all and hire back on an individual basis. It could be done, not all at once of course. Dang this p***** me off!

And I’m trying to imagine where you get the idea that this sort of thing is confined to the government? You really are being very silly.

But if you really want to inquire into this particular psychological affliction of human male, you might shoot an email to Clarence Thomas, who may have some insights.

      My how your mind wanders!

I did not assert or even suggest such a thing!

I guess you enjoy paying government workers to watch porn all day.

As to your last remark. What a stupid, vile (racist) politically driven comment. Accusations against Thomas are just that, unsubstantiated smears on the man’s character. It’s the same crap you tried to pull on Kavanaugh.

      You disgust me.

The accusations against the employee that was caught and the investigation that uncovered the widespread practice is based on evidence.
