CA AB109 Has Many Unintended Consequences – Such as Prisoners Voting

Posted by Jack

In 2011, California voters passes Assembly Bill 109 (AB 109), known as “realignment.” The effect of this bill was to divert people convicted of certain classes of felonies from the Department of Corrections (state prison) to local county jails.

AB 109 remains the subject of significant controversy, a controversy intensified by the February 20, 2017 shooting death of Whittier Police officer Keith Boyer. As a consequence of realignment, the suspect in that case was on locally supervised probation rather than the more stringent jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections.

In addition prisoners will be afforded the right to vote from county jail, with certain guidelines.

You CAN vote while in county jail if you are:

  • 18 years of age or older, and
  • a citizen of the United States, and
  • awaiting trial or on trial for any crime, or
  • in jail for a misdemeanor conviction, or
  • in jail on a probation violation, or
  • in jail on felony probation, or
  • serving a county jail sentence under Realignment (AB 109).

Tens of thousands of convicted criminals and persons accused of serious crimes awaiting trial, sitting in county jail will be voting soon.   Being a good citizen once meant having a  right to vote, but the liberals in CA have lowered the bar again.  It’s so low now, you would have to dig a hole to get under it.  They want illegals to have the vote too….chances are it will happen.

Bernie Sanders – Socialist

by Jack

When an uber-lefty like MS NBC’s, Chris Mathews, compares the Sanders win in Nevada to the fall of France to the Nazi’s, you know the democrats are in serious trouble.  Mathews said, “I was reading last night about the fall of France in the summer of 1940, and the general, Renault, calls up Churchill and says, ‘It’s over.’ And Churchill says ‘How can it be? You’ve got the greatest army in Europe. How can it be over?’ He said, ‘It’s over.’

Many inside the DNC machine are wondering how they have arrived at this low point? Sanders is not even a democrat, he’s running as an independent. And to add further insult, he has continually bested the progressive candidates. Now all that remains between Bernie and “candidat pour certains” is the North Carolina primary. Polling shows Sanders gaining momentum, now up by +2 over Joe Biden who is losing ground. Close behind and also gaining traction is the newest entry, Mike Bloomberg.

The DNC successfully stopped Sanders in 2016 in an all out effort to secure Hillary Clinton as their nominee that was sure to take out Trump. We all know how that worked out, the DNC took a lot of heat from their voter base. So I don’t expect a repeat performance and neither does Bernie. He’s made it clear he will not cave to any insider pressure again.

The DNC finds itself in a tough spot. They don’t dare try to stop Sanders and they can’t bring themselves to openly back a socialist against Trump. Trump is the epitome of a fair trade capitalist, leading a booming economy and Sanders is the polar opposite. Sanders is all about big government and control. He loves to point out how socialism has worked well for Sweden and Denmark with a 60% tax rate, but he avoids talking about the longer list of countries that have failed under socialism such as, but not limited to, Venezuela, Soviet Union, India and for a time the UK. The evidence is in and socialism doesn’t work; however, the tendency of history to repeat itself is Sander’s last hope.

Trump and Sanders are both outspoken against the deep state that has long controlled DC politics. Both Trump and Sanders would blow it up and start over if they could. But, that’s where their similarities end.

The DNC is in a monumental crisis! Can ex-mayors Mike Bloomberg or Pete Buttigieg re-take the lead and the presidency? If you ask Chris Mathews he’ll tell you, “It’s over.”

Ha! Sanders Win’s Decisively in Nevada

by Jack

This election is turning out to be the DNC’s worst nightmare.  Sander’s keep winning in the primaries and he seems unstoppable.  This would be a stunner if he actually made it through the primaries.  The DNC would have no choice but to endorse him and that would make Trump’s odds of winning a virtual certainty.

What does Sander’s victory say about all the other democrat candidates?  Nothing good, that’s for sure.  A socialist is considered the most unelectable person in the US, according to polls.

Now, if only the republicans could get a backbone in the Senate and win the House back, Trump could get even more done.  And I hope he does, I’m not tired of winning yet.

Chico Council Approves Needle Giveaway By Narrow Margin

by Jack

The City Council has once again fallen for another feel-good program endorsed by progressives.  It didn’t take much coaxing either, just a rubber stamp of approval from the progressive community and our libs jumped on it.

Look folks, the needle program is nothing new.  Its been tried and where it has there have been serious problems.  Commonly called the needle exchange program or NEP for short, has been ongoing for decades and there is ample evidence that its not the answer.

The council need only do a little research to see how its worked in other communities and then they would know the NEP has a serious downside!  But, not these clowns, they are die-hard liberals and you can’t get through to them with facts or logic.  This acronym “NEP” is not quite correct either.  You see, there is very little, if any, “exchange” going on.    It’s really a needle giveaway.  If there were a one to one exchange it might make a little more sense.

But, I’m not an addict so why should I care?  Well, let me explain!  I’m a retired narcotics officer and I spent a good part of my life fighting drug pushers. They are dangerous people, often part of a large criminal enterprise and they were being supported by hard core drug users. Is it any wonder that I’m offended that my tax dollars should be going to facilitate some drug addicted bum’s bad habit? In a way, that makes me his hostage, a  codependent to a drug addict and I hate that!

Giving away syringes to drug addicts send the wrong message, we’re saying in effect government condones your addiction.  And I say, well, then why bother with narcotic laws if government is going to give drug paraphernalia to drug addicts and pushers?

Okay, in fairness I will admit that its a fact that the transmission of hepatitis and AIDS might be delayed by the use of clean needles, but this requires the total cooperation of the drug abuser.  We are asking him/her to make a good choice, a good decision and ONLY use a clean needle 100% of the time.   Reality says, that’s too much to expect from addicts. So the NEP is not really getting us anywhere.  People we still get AIDS and HEP, but maybe not quite as quickly.

Opponents of the NEP have the evidence that giving needles away does nothing to cure drug addiction, quite the opposite, it only makes it easier while putting the community at risk.   This is what we need to take into consideration, what is the NEP doing to communities?  Forget about the junkies and bums for a minute, what is it doing to an otherwise good community? Is crime going up?  Are overdoses continuing?  Is illegal drug use going up?  Is violence escalating?  These are the tough question that can be answered through a little investigation that the city council has yet to do!

Time after time, in the cities across America, wherever they have this needle program, the syringes are turning up in the worst possible places, like school gorunds, playgrounds, arks, sidewalks, etc.  As a result, even radical San Francisco is calling for a ban on the needle giveaway program.  They have learned the hard way how this creates a health problem for the entire community…funny they couldn’t have seen that coming?

Check this out- San Francisco filed a report dated April, 2019 that said in part:  “Thousands of needles are scattered on city streets, most likely came the Department of Public Health’s needle exchange program.”

In Orange County, following a lawsuit initiated by the Orange County Board of Supervisors, the Superior Court found in 2018 that the harm of the needle giveaway to the public outweighed the social effectiveness of the Orange County Needle Exchange Program and enjoined (stopped) the California Department of Public Health and OCNEP from operating the program in Orange County.

The public safety of our residents comes first,” said Supervisor Andrew Do, chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “We fought to make sure our sidewalks, parks and libraries did not become hazardous waste sites. This drug needle giveaway is a serious threat to public safety.”  Obviously, the liberals on the Chico City Council doesn’t share the same concern for their citizens as Orange County.

Many liberal cities are reluctantly coming to the same conclusion as Orange County.  This includes New York City.  NYC found it was ultimately a bad idea. It addresses only HIV and hepatitis infections and does nothing about the other criminal, medical and social aspects of drug addiction.

For example:

  • Giving out clean needles does not discourage drug dependence.
  •  Addicts still are prone to death, perhaps not from HIV, but from overdose, collapsed veins, poisoned dope, or the violence and criminality that go along with the illicit drug trade.
  • Drug-addicted mothers will still deliver drug-addicted babies.
  • Sterile needles don’t address the underlying problems addicts are avoiding.
  • Sterile needles offer the path of least resistance rather than address underlying psychoses.
  • Drugs destroy families when all the house money is paying for drugs, lawyers and treatment.
  • It does nothing to stop drug gangs from killing one another.
  • A needle exchange sanctions bad behavior. It suggests that if you’re persistent enough doing the wrong thing, you’ll be rewarded with official permission to keep doing it.

And there’s more – Among the vocal opponents to the free needle plan, state Sen. Ron Rice of Newark sees needles – clean or dirty – as another destructive element in the inner city communities that he represents. He’s one of the plaintiffs in a pending suit that challenges needle exchange.

There are better ways of attacking the drug problem than legally sanctioning a clean-needle-giveaway – such as creating more opportunities for counseling, funding rehab clinics, and providing more health care coverage for uninsured drug users.

Needle-exchange programs never want to address the less tangible issues that lead people into drug dependence and how drug addicted criminal behavior impacts a community.

“Fat broads” and “Horse Faced Lesbians”: Democrat Presidential Debate

By Pie Guevara

Pie Guevara appears in here courtesy of Jack Lee and Tina Grazier and is an unregistered trademark of Engulf and Devour Investments LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walton Industries which, in turn, is wholly owned by David Walton.  So there!

You have to love it when Democrats attack each other. Such was the case in Las Vegas on Tuesday. It was hilarious, wonderful and so true. Vicious politics at its best (worst) as only the Democrats can do. Bloomberg has declared Trump the winner of the debate. Get a clue Mini Mike, Trump will win ALL your debates.

If you can stomach it, here is the entire debate —

If you cannot stomach the entire debate, follow this YouTube search link for some of the “highlights” (lowlights).

One of the funniest moments was when Fauxcahontas accused Bloomberg of sexist comments and fostered a hostile work environment for women. This is the same Fauxcahontas whose campaign so mistreated women that six of them quit! The women said they quit because they felt they were used as tokens and were “routinely silenced” and sidelined.

What did Warren have to say?

“So I just heard about this, and I believe the women who have spoken up and believe them unequivocally and I apologize to them personally. It’s important to me to try to build an organization that is diverse and inclusive and open and lets everyone bring their whole self to work every day. But I recognize that the legacy of racism and oppression pervade everything that we do in this country and so, for me, this is about taking personal responsibility, which I do, and being determined that we will have accountability in this organization and keep doing better every day.”

Oh bite it, Fauxcahontas. It was not a “legacy of racism and oppression” that mistreated these women, it was you and your campaign! Sheesh, what a ridiculous liar fraud. Your “apology” is crap.

Of Further Interest —

On Tuesday, billionaire philanthropist Leon Cooperman told CNBC’s Scott Wapner  “I look at Bernie Sanders as a bigger threat than the coronavirus… He is not a socialist, but he’s rather a communist.”

SPOT ON! Is America ready for Commie Bernie? He is already leading in the fake polls. If he is the DNC (Democrat National Communists) nominee I have a hunch Trump will crush him as he will probably any other DNC candidate. Despite what Never Trump, holier-than-thou, self defeating ideologues like Jonah Goldberg and David French have to say. Let us hope their personal opinions are ignored enlarge by conservative voters in this regard. Otherwise the worst possible will triumph.

If you cannot bring yourself to vote for Trump this election and decline to vote, you are a vote for the Democrats by default. I did that the last election, not again. Either Trump wins and Republicans pull together and win the legislature or our nation will be totally screwed by these lunatics of the extreme left. As much as some of Trump’s behavior disgusts me he is nowhere near as disgusting and despicable as any Democrat. Goldberg and French should think about that.

Good lord, is this Commie Chris on the ASU campus or just one of his Twitter followers?

It’s On! Chicoans Take to the Streets in Protest

by Jack

There are two narratives to explain the crime trouble in Chico.  I’m talking about the crime that comes from the flood of vagrants now walking our streets.   Narrative #1 says, being poor is not a crime.  When you take away people’s homes they have to sleep somewhere.  These poor people could be you or me, the only difference is they lost their jobs, their homes and sometimes their families.

When Ronald Reagan closed down the mental health hospitals it put the patients out on the street to fend for themselves this is cruel.  They need a helping hand, not hated and villainized for problems beyond their abilities to cope. CA has a housing shortage, is it any wonder people are left homeless?  They need homes and an opportunity to find work again. And this is a total crock!

Narrative #2 CA liberals have had 10 years to correct a growing problem with tramps flooding into the state along with illegals, but all their big ideas have failed and at the same time they’ve cost us billions.  They (CA lawmakers) still have no clue who they call homeless.  They still think these bums are simply good people, out of work and homeless.  They are in denial that many are deliberately living on the street as predators and cons that they are!

For the most part the transients in Chico came here from other places, even out of state.  We are a magnet for bums and junkies.  Over half the nations so-called homeless now live on the West Coast.  Why?  They are not here looking for work, that’s obvious.

With these new kind of bums and vagrants has come soaring shoplifting, thefts from vehicles, bicycle theft, assaults, stabbings, aggressive panhandling, homicides, burglary, arson, human filth in public places, vandalism, drugs, prostitution and tons of trash.  You should see the trash left behind at camp sites in Bidwell Park, our polluted waterways…. this is what has been forced on us by these unwelcome travelers.

Chico is now known as a good place for bums, but not for taxpaying citizens.  We have the rep as a soft touch thanks to local liberals.   So the bums come here for all the free S- – -, isn’t that just great?

Look, we have no problem with helping the poor or people out of work and struggling.  We have compassion for the mentally ill too, but our ability to help these truly needy people is limited and what we do have is being consumed by the predators, bums and junkies.   They are spreading their bad habits in our community and that includes drug and alcohol addictions.

Chico never had a heroin problem until these creeps arrived.  We’ve found needles  left behind by druggies in the kid’s playground and in several public parks.  Downtown businesses are suffering from shoplifting and because the downtown is no longer considered safe… but the liberals talk right past these realities.  They are not hearing us, they only want to try to convince us we are mean people because we won’t give these bums our tax money for more programs.  So many of us have had enough and it’s time to do something….today is the beginning.

UPDATE:  Just got back from the rally.  Well over 1500 people showed up.  They were angry and frustrated by the lack of action to protect this community, but I saw no violence.  They feel the liberals on the City Council are trying to deal with problems that only involve a small percentage of the so-called homeless.  The rest of it, the crime, the filth, the trash, etc., they have no answers, except for denial and trying to change the narrative to one that fits their agenda.

Chico Scene – Declaration of Grievances

Posted by Jack

First, my apologies for not updating this blog in the last couple of days.  As you might have guessed I been busy, real busy.  However, the good news is I’ve come up with a plan to fight back against the vagrants, junkies and criminals.  We don’t have to take it anymore, enough with using our city like a toilet!  We’ve had it with all the poop on the sidewalks, the needles and trash left behind by the bums!  This is our town – not theirs!

But, my plans will have to wait a few more days before I publish them.  For now I want to direct your attention to the declaration below.  It was drawn up by a citizens group called Chico First.  Their aim, like mine, is to come up with innovative ways to combat the encroachment of crime, filth and hard drugs on our community.

If you would like to help Chico First, please go to the Farmers Market Second and Wall Street, Chico, CA tomorrow (2/18/20) at 5 pm.  There will be a protest march to make public the grievances as noted.  Hope you can make it, but if not you will have many chances to get involved.  The Chico group has a big job ahead of them.  This includes recalling the mayor and council members who give preferential treatment to predator-bums ahead of taxpayers and law abiding citizens.

Make no mistake, people are mad, they’re upset and sincerely concerned because of what we are all witnessing, a corrupt, foolish and incompetent government in the City and in Sacramento.

We now fully realize the problems we face will not be solved easily or quickly.  We know we’re in a monumental fight, but we must do it, because its for the future of Chico.  And on a bigger scale it’s for the entire State of California.

As most of us can attest, the state of California has been slowly turned into a trash heap of failed liberal programs, bogus laws and worse…. encroachments on our civil liberty!

To top it off,  we are seeing the wasteful spending of billions of our tax dollars on the most inane and corrupt ways ever recorded in this State’s long history.  That self- inflicted government waste, chaos and disorder has now found its way into Chico…enough is enough.

Declaration of Grievances:
We, the people of Chico,
– In order to protect and enhance our community’s quality of life for present and future generations;
– Maintain our streets, parks, and other public and private areas;
– Preserve the cleanliness, sanitation, and accessible condition of our community;
– And protect the health, safety, and public welfare of the City of Chico,

Do hereby tender the following list of grievances to the Chico City Council:

The Chico City Council has failed to make a priority those things of the greatest concern to the public welfare, such as concerns about and threats to public safety, choosing instead to pursue unpopular and frivolous projects and partisan policy making;

They have failed to address, through proper enforcement, the growing offenses against the public welfare, to include both statutory crimes against persons and properties both public and private, and damage to the general sentiment of safety in the community of Chico;

They have violated the mandate of our City Charter to protect our children, families, and businesses by failing to oppose the establishment of a needle distribution program which has resulted in an increase in the littering of hypodermic needles on school grounds, streets, parks, and waterways;

They have, as a result, unduly exposed the public to infectious disease and physical harm in violation of the mandate to protect health and safety within the city limits;

They have failed to protect the health and safety of vulnerable unhoused populations of Chico by failing to collaborate with the County of Butte and other stakeholders to secure resources for mental health treatment, drug detox, rehabilitation, permanent and transitional housing solutions, and job placement;

They have failed to preserve sensitive ecosystems by neglecting to enforce existing federal, state, and local laws — or to pursue additional ordinances — to protect local waterways from pollution and degradation by illegal camping and the resulting dumping of human waste and other garbage into local watersheds;

They have violated the Mission Statement of the City of Chico by failing to attend to public safety; neglecting concerns of business owners about criminal activity; and undermining the quality of life entitled to residents of Chico by refusing to take measurable actions to improve infrastructure such as housing, roadways, and sewer;

They have, in exhibiting the failures enumerated above, violated and eroded the public trust and confidence in their ability to uphold, protect, and defend the Chico City Charter and preserve the quality of life promised therein.

We, the People of Chico, therefore resolve that this Council shall heed this call to action and shall in all urgency redress the aforementioned grievances. With friends, family, and community as our witnesses, we record our names below in petitioning this Council to uphold its Charter, correct its abuses, and restore the public confidence in its ability to govern.

Trump and Tweets

Posted by Jack

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said President Trump should follow Attorney General William Barr’s advice after the top Justice Department official said the president’s tweeting was making it “impossible” to do his job.

Mitch McConnell wearing a suit and tie: McConnell: Trump 'ought to listen to' Barr's advice on DOJ tweets© Bonnie Cash McConnell: Trump ‘ought to listen to’ Barr’s advice on DOJ tweets

“If the Attorney General says it is getting in the way of him doing his job, maybe the president should listen to the Attorney General,” McConnell added, asked if he didn’t like the president’s tweets.

Barr said during an interview with ABC News that he thought it was “time to stop tweeting” about DOJ criminal cases – a rare break with Trump.

“The public statements and tweets … make it impossible to do my job and to assure the courts and the prosecutors in the department that we are doing our work with integrity,” Barr told ABC News.

Barr’s remarks followed days of growing scandal over the Justice Department’s decision to ask for a lesser sentence for Trump associate Roger Stone. The request contradicted an initial seven-to-nine-year recommendation made by frontline federal prosecutors and came after Trump publicly criticized the initial recommendation.”  END

Trump would be infinitely better off if would tweet about 30% less.
